I went on this cruise with relatives who were celebrating a big anniversary and I was in a solo studio. This was my first time on the Epic and I had a great cruise but my experience was likely very different from others who sailed on this ship recently. Reasons for this may be because this cruise had fewer people on it than others recently and it seemed as though there was a lot of new staff. I ...
We are on the Viva after spending 2 weeks on Virgin Voyages. I have the impression that both ships are trying the same thing.
However where Virgin dares to be different Viva goes almost there and the bottles out
Take the Galley on VV it's great, really nice food made fresh to order. Viva has the same concept but limits the space & choice because it has installed a traditional too small ...
Solo traveler...I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Partially blocked oceanview cabin was a delight...larger than cabins on newer ships. Stewards were awesome as were all staff. I was on Deck 8 midship...perfect location. Spent an overnight in Lisbon before embarkation...loved it. Lisbon is a beautiful hilly city that requires some stamina...but worth the effort.
Embarkation was a breeze. Food was ...
Our first impressions of the ship is “It’s impressive”. The Viva is a new ship, only been at sea for a couple of months. The outside of the ship looks great with a lovely paint job. Wandering round the ship everything looks new as you would expect, no blemishes or wear on fabrics or walls.
There is a great choice of bars and restaurants, with five complimentary restaurants and 8 specialty ...
We travelled as a family on the Viva on its 2nd ever cruise. Overall we had a fabulous trip with very little to complain about. Our favourites things about the ship were Syd Normans, the outdoor area on Deck 8, especially the infinity pools, Hudsons Dining Room , the Indulge Food Hall, the Observation Lounge and the kids club. Areas that were less to our taste were the main pool deck area and the ...
We travelled on the second Viva trip out of lisbon.
I wasn't going to leave a review as I like a ship when it is not too crowded, and too many positive reviews will only encourage crowds!!! But.....then I thought that was a bit unfair, so here goes.
Embarkation in Lisbon was a dream. We arrived at the port at 10.50am having walked from our city centre hotel (about 15 minutes walking) and ...
We sailed on NCL Getaway in July and August 2023 on a cruise from Lisbon, Portugal to Southampton, England. My wife and I are in our 60s and have cruised over 30 times with 9 of those on NCL. Overall we enjoyed this cruise although there were some irritating aspects.
EMBARK: Embarkation in Lisbon was very smooth. We arrived at 1130am and were onboard the ship within 15 minutes (by 2pm we ...
We had a great time! - Easy straight on embark at lisbon cabin was the tiny!!! a four berth although only 2 of us and we are light travellers!! we are mid aged and agile but you are unable to walk either side of bed as bunks protrude a foot. So had to clamber into bed. No plugs either side. well positioned cabin but no lie ins as tannoys wake you at docking !! telling you whats on !! And how far ...
Sailed aboard the Norwegian Getaway out of Lisbon, Portugal on a 9 day itinerary to Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, and ending in Southhampton, England.
Embarkation-took us about 2 hours to get on the ship. Not sure if the port was understaffed or if everyone just showed up at once. Long line to drop off luggage and another long line to check in.
Ship-Ship was in very good ...
The itinerary appealed…Lisbon,Madeira, Canaries, Gibraltar, Malaga and Cadiz. The Sun didn’t seem to cope as well with the Atlantic swell as other ships we’ve been on.
Food generally excellent, los lobos was disappointing. Restaurants mostly quieter than on other cruises, I do wonder if it’s because of the “à la carte” pricing adopted by NCL which has dramatically pushed up the cost. ...
