Insane-level service by bar waitresses; surprisingly good but limited entertainment (nothing going on in the day); average food, even in the pay restaurants, but no bad meals; some of the worst shore excursions I've ever been on; one of the easiest embarkations ever and the easiest debark in more than 10 cruises (I literally walked off the ship, no line, and was on the street in San Diego in ...
First of all I have to say, that there is nothing wrong with the cruise itself. The ship is nice, the staff is nice, the food was very good and the landscape of Alaska is definitely worth the whole trip.
But in my opinion there is a big „BUT“ when it comes to Norwegian and I would rather not choose to sail with them in the future:
They sent us dozens of E-Mails in advance of the cruise about ...
First of all never ever let the Cruise book your airline tickets it took us 30 hours to get home. Cruise embarkation was fine .Rooms were clean and very nice room attendant did a great job cleaning but she was so busy she really didn’t get much personal care and I don’t blame her I blame the Cruise for being understaffed. The food was mediocre. Varieties in the buffet minimal. Especially ...
I choice this cruise for the itinerary. Alaska was beautiful but it was obvious that people were walking around the ship with Covid symptoms. People were coughing and not attempting to stay away from others. Staff didn’t seem to care and I didn’t see a lot of cleaning in the stairwells or elevators and other highly touched areas like I have seen in past cruises probably due to staff shortages. I ...
My friend booked this trip for the 3 of us. We left from Vancouver, The first thing that happened, the bus that brought us to the dock just let us out. We didn't have anyone to tell us where to go .Nothing was marked, no signs or arrows. We asked several people and finally found the elevator. Two in our group are handicapped and we wasted a lot of time trying to find the gangplank ..
The ...
We chose this cruise because a Royal Caribbean cruise we’d booked due to leave Singapore was cancelled three days before departure due to COVID-19. I had already travelled to Sydney ready to fly to Singapore and felt fortunate to find this cruise to Burnie, Tasmania, Melbourne and the South Island of New Zealand. Why anyone would include Burnie on any itinerary is beyond belief. We were ...
Incredible weather. Between riding buses and a rental car for six weeks from Cape Reinga to Wanaka in New Zealand, the only rain I had was for about an hour driving between Greymouth and Arthur's Pass. How lucky is that ?! I saw Queenstown on a previous visit, and highly recommend it and the bus tour to Milford Sound. The road into the Sound is great.
It has been a few years since I took ...
Overall:
Average Cruise and the highlight was the day cruising the Sounds. The Sounds are spectacular and cruising was a great way to see a small portion of them.
Dining:
We never do up charge dining, we paid for an all inclusive why would you pay even more? The main dining rooms were average to below average. There was not one shrimp dish, appetizer or entree, on the menu for the entire ...
This was our second NCL cruise. The other was six years ago and since then we have cruised exclusively on Celebrity. The embarkation was quick and efficient.
We chose a penthouse suite at the back of the ship. This was not part of the Haven but did gain us access to the breakfast and dinner in Moderno as well as other suite perks. I'm glad we did not stay in the Haven. The courtyard and ...
Sydney (Pre-Cruise)
We landed early in the morning and were in the arrival hall in under an hour. We collected a pocket WiFi that was reserved through Klook and purchased Opal cards from the WH Smith store for the public transportation. We looked for a Wespac Bank ATM (Bank of America’s partner), but were unable to locate one. That was an exception. Wespac branches and/or ATMs were all over ...
