Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Fantastic Cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Although, we have cruised many times with NCL, this is our first time on this ship, the first time in Alaska and the first time in an aft cabin and we have loved all of it. NCL have excelled themselves with this itinerary and with this ship, we can't fault a single thing! Alaska is amazing, beautiful and the weather was very kind to us with sunshine every day, we will definitely be back! We ...

Alaska Northbound on the Jewel!

First Time Cruiser • Age 20s

Background: My husband and I chose this cruise to celebrate our wedding anniversary, as we believed Alaska would be an absolutely beautiful way to celebrate. We were absolutely correct! For this cruise, we began in Vancouver, BC, and travelled North to Seward/Anchorage, AK aboard the Norwegian Jewel. Travel to Port of Embarkation: For our flights into Vancouver, and from Anchorage, we made us ...

The shine on the Jewel has worn off. The first and primary problem was the plumbing. On numerous days we saw staff working on toilet issues with their equipment and air fresheners. For two days our toilet failed to flush for hours at a time. We learned about this after returning to our room. No one from the staff cared to call us to notify there was a problem. Another problem was the lack ...

Really BAD Food, NCL Theme is “SELL, SELL, SELL”

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Think about the food this way: You will enjoy it if you liked what they served in your high school cafeteria! We did not enjoy the specialty restaurants either (we did Le Bistro and the “Brazilian Steakhouse”). The main dining room was only OK on a couple of nights. The Chin-Chin restaurant was horrible. Not a shrimp to be found on this ship. Smoked salmon? An extinct species. ...

NCL San Diego to Mexican Riveria April 2023

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We took this cruise the week of April 16, 2023 and although we did have a good time, it was not because of anything NCL did. We had Priority Boarding and found the staff in San Diego to be very unhelpful. There was no process for explaining or assisting with Priority Boarding which we paid extra for. Seemed like it was simply a charge without any service. My wife asked a NCL representative how we ...

Embarkation/Entertainment

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

I've gone on Carnival, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Norwegian has the best dining with Specialty Restaurants but other than that it's a very boring ship. Too many children running around unattended, hot tubs full of children. Comedy night was 18+ but people bought their children so the comedian talked about oral sex and masterbation as I sat there with children around. Left there and went to ...

Embarkation and disembarkation were awful

I’m trying to write this while everything from this cruise is fresh in my mind (we returned yesterday). This is a review of a Norwegian Cruise Lines week-long cruise to Mexico from San Diego and is fairly lengthy. If you want to skip the details, the conclusion is that my wife and I have been contentedly cruising on Celebrity for a number of years. We will be skipping NCL in the future in favor ...

Highs and Lows

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

I'll start with the highs: We enjoy the Jewel's size-not too big, not too small. The staff were all great, as usual. We enjoyed the shows. We ate mostly at specialty dining for dinner, and we liked them all, especially Cagney's. In Ensenada, we walked to the fish market and had some great fish tacos. In Cabo, we took a ship's shore excursion to the Casa Dorado Beach Resort and it was great. ...

Interesting experience

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We arrived early into Panama City airport, and the transport started with an impromptu tour of Panama City and a pit stop for breakfast as we couldn't arrive in Colon before 11. The ride to Colon was purely functional, and we didn't view much that was photo worthy. Embarkation felt like sort of a mess in Colon, and it was a relief to finally get on the ship. My bucket list included full ...

A Jewel this was not!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

User Avatar

Cruise number 14 for us. Panama Canal passage on the list of " must do ". The price seemed very reasonable, although with Norweigan the extras add up like one of those $29 airfares that actually costs $229 when you pay for all the necessary extas. We had put in a "bid" for an upgrade that works like an auction over about a week period. Day before cruise received an email stating that our bid ...
