AJ’s Sloth and Monkey sanctuary. We booked this on our own in advance. Shore excursions to these places were longer and more costly. We got transportation and the animal experience for $35 pp. Lots of fun and guide was great.

Feel like you're at the county fair, go on a NCL cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Jade

We knew NCL reputation of a middle of the road cruise line. It surpassed my expectations. We only went on the cruise because of the itinerary, which was superb. But overall, the ship and cruise was not good. Service was wonderful, when you had it. The restaurants were understaffed. I waiter for many tables. Rarely did we see a wine steward. Never in over 2 weeks did we have dinner in less ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and price - which both were excellent. We loved the transatlantic and seeing places we had never been to before. Best itinerary ever and still cannot believe what a wonderful price it was. The embarkation and disembarkation was the best I have ever experienced. Kudo for that. Loved having the beverage package and the people serving the drinks were ...

Changes in NCL policies

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

There were a few changes in NCL policies on the ship that we were not aware of at the beginning of our trip. The policy on straws was a little bit of an issue. We could have brought our own had we known about the change. Also, the policy on taking food to your room or ordering at a restaurant and being able to take it back to your room. We were informed it was a health issue, but yet you could ...

Very Clean Cruise Ship

We took a trip on Norwegian Sep 18 to Norway, Iceland, and Scotland. We stayed in London for a week before the cruise visiting Southern England (Winchester, Stonehenge, Bath, Oxford, Windsor and Cotswolds). The trip destinations were awesome and the excursions. The WiFi service was bad as with most ships. I suggested they add a WiFi education session and they asked for my advice. I prepared a ...

Chose this cruise for the itinerary First time cruise with NCL and likely the last -cruised withanother line for 5 previous cruises Visited seafood exporting countries and yet limited selection of fish on the menu and what there was would be classified as mediocre at best Buffet menu offerings were the same every day so after two weeks it got a little “old” trying to decide what to have. ...

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Norwegian Jade

Trying to get 3 families together was a challenge and this cruise fit the timeframe as well as being a great destination. The ship was smaller that what we were used to which was a nice treat but we missed some of the activities of the larger ships. The ports in Norway were amazing so the limited activities was not a big deal but would not want this ship on a transatlantic cruise or itinerary with ...

Norway fjords

Wanted to see the fjords and always liked ncl. Jade was recently refurbished and looks great. Ports were small but really enjoyed them. Seems they have cutback on the latitudes party. No more prizes and it is now early in the day when you are less likely to drink. Appetizers were cubes of cheese only. Very poor way to treat best customers. Show us you really care and make our experience special. ...

We chose the Jade for the itinerary to Norway and the North Cape. We have cruised with NCL and other cruise lines many times. Cutbacks in the regular Dining Rooms was very evident. Food selection and service was poor. Thank goodness for Cagney's Steakhouse and the Italian specialty Restaurants. The Pub (O'Sheehan's) was an excellent lunch eatery with good service. Entertainment was good and ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Jade

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and had been satisfied with NCL twice before. Great itinerary but organized chaos on several occasions. The main buffet dining, the Garden Cafe, was always CROWDED!! People fought for tables far away from the buffet at every meal dining early or late. As this was a North Sea cruise, it was cool outside so outdoor seating was not pleasant. The Spirit that ...

This is my second cruise on NCL and first on the Jade. I was looking forward to a smaller ship due to more personal service and personable crew. The ship's pools were a bit small for the sold-out two-day voyage I was on; restaurants sometimes packed and entertainment was only okay (for a cruise ship). I had an inner cabin which was just fine and located upstairs aft which was convenient. The ...
