Choose any other cruise line than NCL, what you think you are saving you will pay in disappointment. The cruise changed a number of times. This was explained as a result of the conflict in Palestine. However, stops in Egypt were removed with others added. Sea days were also added. This was our first trip on Norwegian Gem, but not first on NCL. We booked for the itinerary which originally included Turkey, Israel, Greece, Egypt, Sicily and Italy (Naples and Rome). It pains me to write this as my husband and I have taken multiple NCL cruises and have always been pleased. While the ports of call were wonderful, almost everything else lacked. Embarkation in Istanbul was long with a lot of waiting in line. I wish that had gone faster.
Our Ocean View cabin was the last one down the hall and butted up against an equipment room, yet we were not bothered by noise. It was clean and comfortable and there were no mechanical issues of any kind.

This was suppose to be a celebration trip for us but it was anything but that. After turkish air lost my wife luggage we boarded the ship without hers. Dealing with guest services to retrieve the bag after it showed up in instanbul was a joke to say the least. Our outside cabin was great - spacious, heaps of storage space, excellent bathroom with non-stick shower screen and screened toilet. Buffet offered great choices but the decor needs updating.
