This cruise was selected to see different Hawaiian islands besides Oahu. I would give it a 3.5, but no option. The entertainment and food service were much better on two previous NCL cruises we took to Alaska and the Carribean. It seemed like the staff was all new and not as experienced and professional. We rented a car in each port except Kona; where two of our group had an excursion ...
This was my first cruise with NCL. I was impressed. The highlight of the cruise was my daily interaction with the fantastic bar staff at the John Adams Bar. Cymone, Jennifer, Sam, et al could not have been friendlier. My buddy and I started every day at the JA Bar, and the service was consistently excellent.
The dining options were very good as well. The buffets were stocked with a ...
Laundry: Yep, I am not paying 1.99 for 1 piece of underwear. On day 2 in Maui go to Kahului Laundromat. They only take cash so be prepared (1 roll of quarters did a large load of laundry and 30 minutes of drying time). It was an hour out of the trip and the right call for us. If you flew in early, then that should be enough to get you through the rest of the cruise.
Taxis: You are better off ...
We are a family experienced in cruising. Since we reside in Fl we are frequently taking cruises ( 5-6 times a year) on any vacation / school break opportunity. All our previous cruises destinations were out of the USA: Mexico, all parts of Caribbean, Central America, Panama, etc. It's been our dream to visit Hawaii for years, and we finally booked this trip without reading any reviews or having ...
My husband and I enjoyed our cruise on the Spirit. We embarked in Honolulu with minimum wait times. It was less than 30 minutes from the time we were dropped off at the dock until we were sitting on the ship. The Hawaiian islands were beautiful. We toured the Waikiki Aquarium and ate at Duke's the day before we got on the ship in Honolulu. We walked around town by the cruise port in Kauai and ...
FIRST ADVICE: It says 7 day cruise, and you get Free airfare. My advice book your own. On the last day of the cruise you arrive back to Honolulu and you must depart ship by 9 am . but you booked flight does not take off until 10 pm. so what do you do all day with your luggage. Some people rented cars , some people lugged their luggage around with them. We chose to take one of the final day ...
Upon entering the ship, staff was attentive & friendly. After we left Honolulu, it became clear we were a burden to waitstaff in ALL the bars. One evening in more formal dining, it took us 2 hours to get our food- 3 meals were served after they sat on the counter 15 minutes and the other 5 meals were brought out after the first 3 were served-Those 5 meals sat 15 more minutes before served 40 ...
After reading the bad reviews for this ship, I was very pleasantly surprised. Many of the reviews pointed out that there was a sewer smell. I have a sensitive nose and did not smell anything unpleasant, either in our cabin nor in any other part of the ship. Pride of America is a beautiful ship and is in wonderful shape. We had a balcony cabin on deck 7 and it was great. It was small, but certainly ...
We chose Pride of America because we have sailed N.C.L and always had a great experience, full of laughs , great food, and entertainment. This was a bucket list trip.
Check in was great. Well organized quick and easy. Staff were great. We found our stateroom to be clean and the bed was wonderful. We purchased the bar and gratuity package, Well worth the money.
Unfortunately the meals did not ...
Unfortunately the holiday didn’t start that great when my bag didn’t arrive with me from Australia. It did turn up after 3 days just before our cruise. Thanks Qantas!!
We have been in quite a few cruise’s before this one and it is easily the worst experience we have had.
We had been to all of the islands before but traveled with friends who had not.
The shore excursions are very ...
