We started off on the wrong foot. Our airfare was included, BUT - Norwegian had my son and grandson on one flight and my daughter in law and granddaughter on a different flight! When we called NCL was very curt and said that we should have read the terms of our "contract" - which allowed them to book whatever airfare thy wanted. Really lousy customer service! Our travel agent felt so bad that she ...
I had planned on taking the family on a vacation to Hawaii. Getting four adults to agree on free time when work is involved meant that cruises to the islands out of Los Angeles or another port were out of the question. NCL's Pride of America offered a tour of the islands that would be 8 days where the other lines offered 10-14 days. Even though shorter, the average price would be more, because it ...
The cruise ship is my only issue, the staff on the ship and traveling to the different islands was wonderful. They either need to give this ship a serious makeover or change it for a new ship. The windows were beyond dirty. The outside of the ship is rusty and dirty. When we got on the ship, it had a horrible odor, that either got better or I just got use to it. It is just not what I expected ...
The cruise itself was okay. The wait staff was terrible. We had a waitress take our order and left. We had to grab someone else to take our order again. Our toilet broke and we had to wait until the next morning for someone to fix it. Fortunately we had an elevator outside our room and we could go down 2 floors to use a public restroom. We slept with our clothes on. The worst thing was we ...
Chose this cruise because we wanted to explore the Hawaiian Islands.
The food was amazing - the main buffet breakfast , lunch and dinner amazing! Once the main buffet closed a little buffet above the pool would open serving hotdogs, burgers etc. the chef made fresh cookies everyday which were AMAZING!!! Hot warm soft and delicious.
Brian from the Cadillac diner was our favourite server. On ...
We choose this cruise for the itinerary and because our previous experiences on Norwegian had been good. Previously we had booked balcony cabins but since we brought our kids and grandkids we booked 2 ocean view cabins. I expected a tight cabin but I didn't expect such poor room service. The room was only serviced once a day, usually after lunch. We got fresh towels and the beds were straightened, ...
We, two couples, selected this cruise because of the itinerary, to see the islands. Also, we decided to go with the 3-day tour package in Honolulu up front. NCL was the only cruise line to offer that format, without sailing from the west coast.
I read all the reviews in advance, so no surprises about the ship experience. I knew going in that staff shortages and cost cutting affected the ...
Embarcation and Debarcation is very smooth. Staterooms were fine, stateroom host went above and beyond. Food was ok, some entrees in the MDR were better than others, servers in main dining room need to be trained more. Food in the Aloha cafe was sub par for the most part. We as passengers need to be more polite to each other. The buffet should not be considered as your last meal forever. ...
Have been on a number of cruises, this is the second time on Norwegian. My friend and I had Hawaii on our bucket list for awhile and planned to cruise and then spend some time on Oahu.
The check in was a little slower than anticpated, and we didn't get all the maps and planners. Which was a challenge as the app is not great. We boarded the boat and enjoyed exploring the few areas that ...
The entertainment and staff were overall wonderful on board. We really enjoyed our Hawaiian cruise. When we got home to share our experiences with family and friends, unfortunately the first things that came to mind were the negative issues with Norwegian.
Norwegian seemed to want to use every opportunity to get us to spend more than the initial $9000 we paid for our cruise to Hawaii. When we ...
