Norwegian Gourmet Food Cruises Cruise Reviews

US Coast Guard cutter making darkened ship/nighttime transit through canal. Wonder why?
Evening conclusion of entire canal transit on Panama City/Pacific side.
Panama Canal transit. New canal uses tugs vs tracked mules to keep vessels centered in the lock.
Beautiful ship.

Beautiful places with, at times, a struggling ship

Review for Norwegian Epic to Europe - Western Mediterranean

We consider ourselves as easily pleased and fair - so here goes The boarding at Civitavecchia (Rome) was seamless at our allocated time. We had all our paper work ready and check-in complete, with COVID test etc, which I think helped as there were plenty of folk sitting around waiting. If you do decide to get a test there, yes, as advertised, it will cost $65. There were places apparently in ...

NCL CASH EXTRACTION

Review for Norwegian Epic to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Never been with NCL before and probably won't cruise with them again. Everything they do board is about cash extraction. They charge a fee for for buying from their shops, for the pleasure of serving you. Gambling is the main feature on the ship, lots and lots of tables. Although we had a drinks package, bottled water was not included, for a litre of water $6.00 + 20% SC. There was no ...

Restaurants closed. Bars closed. Gelato and snack counters closed.

Review for Pride of America to Hawaii

NCL doesn’t disclose that more than half of the specialty dining venues are closed. Also only bars mid-ship around the pool are open. Various gelato, coffee bars, and snack areas are closed. Shore excursions are less than what is on the website. If you want the entertainment and variety of food venues, this is NOT the cruise for you. Clientele was 80% over 60 and clearly there for the buffet. ...

Things to expect on an underbooked older cruise ship

Review for Norwegian Star to Mediterranean

We thought we liked the itinerary - 10 day cruise from Venice to Barcelona with a different port everyday. We wore ourselves out and did not have the discipline not to get off the ship every day. Just couldn’t resist at least seeing the port. Next time I will choose ships with at least 2 sea days on a 10 day cruise. Ports we liked: Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor: each of which we did either a hop on/hop ...

A great cruise

Review for Pride of America to Hawaii

In my opinion there is no better way to see 4 Hawaiian islands than by taking the Pride of America. This cruise was the 4th sailing of this cruise since NCL started up again. Overall we thought every part of the cruise was very good. Check in was all of 10 minutes and we were on board. We were very pleased to get a balcony upgrade - this was our first hint that the cruise was sailing at less than ...

THE 4/30-5/7/22 COVID EXPERIENCE ONBOARD - WHAT'S NEW

This review is about our return to cruising and our experience on this 4th cruise week since the Covid shutdown 2 years ago. We cruised Norwegian 2/20 just before shutdown, so having returned this morning 5/7/22 from Norwegian's Pride of America (Hawaiian) cruise and cruisetour. Here's what we experienced and we will refer to this post-Covid experience onboard and not life about the ship itself. ...

Review for Norwegian Pearl to Bermuda

This was my 5th cruise, first with norwegian. I thought we were getting a step above the usual. We were wrong. The staff are always fun and accommodating. Ship is clean and maintained beautifully. The ships band was fantastic, best entertainment on ship, we enjoyed them alone one night. We found the food disappointing, especially the buffet Cafe. The entertainment was poor. Only 2 good ...

Review for Norwegian Getaway to Europe - All

User Avatar

Cruise was picked by a family member. The itinerary looked and was, good. Boarding in Manhattan, with ports in Canada, N. Ireland, Ireland, Wales, U.K. and France. Problems, however, started before even boarding the ship. With a boarding window around 10:30 a.m., arrived on time, and was told that special paperwork had to be filled out because of the Canadian port and that there was a cost of ...

This was our 1st cruise. Our 17 year old boys turned 18 while on the ship. The beginning of the cruise was great. Seeing all decor was spectacular. Food was good and staff was great. We got to Bermuda and spent 2 days there. Was supposed to be 3 days but the cruise line changed the itinerary 1 week before we left and took one day away from 70's in Bermuda to 1 day in bar harbor Maine that was 38 ...
