This would have been a fine cruise if we hadn't traveled on two other cruise lines in the past. We picked it because the Boston location was convenient and cheap.
Overall, we had a nice time. Bermuda is a terrific place to visit. It's nice to be in a single port for nearly 3 days to experience it in depth.
However, the general "complimentary" dining left a lot to be desired. There were few ...
This was my second time on board the Gem, and just like my first trip on the Gem on New Year's Day 2011 from NYC to the Caribbean, it did not disappoint. My family and I departed from Boston for Bermuda and had a great time.
This is my fifth Norwegian Cruise, and the Gem is my favorite ship. My first cruise with Norwegian was on the S.S. Norway in July 1993. I was also on the Gem in 2011 as I ...
Heard nothing but Great reviews about Norwegian as the one to go to for a more relaxing yet fun filled cruise. Open choices for dining ,activities ,as well as off shore excursions. Entire staff was welcoming ,attentive and friendly not to mention helpful and had great sense of humor... Major Shout out to Cruise director Luz and Asst.Cruise director Jeffrey... Already In the process of planning our ...
The Gem is a little older then many. We did however have a wonderful experience over all. 1 caveat, was there was a great deal of time to get your food in the "specialty restaurants" average was almost 2 hours to complete a meal. The food was decent but I would stick with the buffets if you value your time.
Entertainment was good, Kids club kept my 12 year happily occupied.
Ports and ...
This was our first time on the Gem out of Boston to Bermuda. We had been on the Dawn a few times and the Gen is very similar to the Dawn in the layout with a few improvements (the bar area on Deck 6 works much better) and a few odd features (you can only enter the Atrium from one side of the mid-ship elevators) Overall, we loved the ship. We had an ocean-view cabin on Deck 5 that was standard ...
I choose this cruise because it was offered during summer and the port was convenient to where I lived. I was able to park around a block from the cruise ship which added to the convenience of embarkation and disembarkation.
The ship was adequate but the seating in lounges and the dining rooms was not very comfortable.
The cabin I was in, room 5610, was the worst room I have ever had. It ...
I have cruised with NCL from Boston to Bermuda many times over the years on various ships. (I'm now Platinum Plus.) Being a person who doesn't like to fly and loves to cruise, my choices are limited. That being said, it doesn't mean I feel this is a cruise I have to tolerate. I have been on NCL's larger ship, the Getaway, but do prefer a smaller ship. I will also say that the Boston to Bermuda ...
Norwegian Gem is a beautiful ship. The itinerary was amazing. The crew exceeded our wants.
Patrick or Kevin Street always made sure our mini suite was impeccable and took very good care of us.
Nikola Vojovic, Gary Gatoula and Mer Yaday are some of the bartenders throughout the ship but they stood out in our eyes with a great smile and excellent service I definitely go to them anytime I ...
Our 1st cruise and we are NCL cruisers for life! We have already booked our 2nd cruise, a transatlantic. We can't say enough about how smoothly this vacation went. From getting on board and fine dining, followed by great entertainment, this is the way to travel! Norwegian put the "Pro" in professional, the ship was immaculate from morning to night, and you hardly noticed the work it took to keep ...
My husband and I love to cruise and decided to go on the Gem from Boston to Bermuda. I booked a balcony room but at the last minute saw there was a forward facing penthouse suite available so I called and changed the reservation to the suite. We got to the pier at around 10:30 and were in the Haven/Suite waiting area by 10: 45. Anoop, our amazing concierge met us there and gave us our card keys ...
