Charter cruise/music experience on a cruise.
I've sailed on many ships to many locations. While the charter piece of this cruise was extremely well done, NCL was horrible as a provider of the sailing experience. Sailed on the The Gem. Again, I realize this was a charter and an old smaller ship so my comments take that into consideration.
Food: Horrible, tasteless, always cold and items ...
A group of us met with our travel agent and we decided on the Gem from his review of it.
The entertainment was wonderful, but the most impressive thing was the friendliness of the staff. All of the staff was courteous, friendly and very helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the dining facilities. The photographs taken are a little expensive, but for my first cruise, I just had to have ...
We were traveling with friends that had never cruised before and figured that the Boston to Bermuda would be a first great cruise for them. We got to the terminal nice and early and sailed through security and check-in and patiently waited for board. Once we got on board, we were the first ones in O'Sheehans for lunch. O'Sheehans is my least favorite restaurant on the ship but everyone else ...
For our very first cruise, I wanted to choose one that left from somewhere nearby and didnt have a lot of ports to stop in so I had to choose between NCL and Royal Caribbean . I chose the Gem simply for the freestyle dining to try to make our experience as easy and carefree as possible. I was very pleased with the ship: the staff was very nice, it was very clean. A few times I wished I had more ...
Had a wonderful time this was my first cruise and it was so much fun. Amazing trip I already want to go on another one. Food and drinks on board was great, loved the staff, fun on board activities, we had so much fun while at sea, exploring the boats shops and resturants. I super enjoyed my drink package. Bermuda was beautiful. We went parasailing and saw the dolphins and we also explored Hamilton ...
We chose this cruise because frankly, we live by Cruise Port Boston, love Bermuda and spent our honeymoon on the Norwegian Gem on its transatlantic portion of its maiden voyage back in 2007 and wanted to see whether the cruise ship really was as awesome as we remembered. It was, and then some. The embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. Sure, twelve years has taken its toll on the ship, but ...
We wanted to go to Bermuda and this was a different ship for us, so we went. Overall, we had fun and Bermuda is awesome. Our stateroom was a forward balcony and was nice, clean and the room steward was very friendly and good. However, the service in the dining rooms was horrible every night except once. The food was sometimes good sometimes bad. We would have to ask 3 times for a drink and 40 ...
Took cruise because of ease of access from Boston. Overall a very sad ship. Food was lackluster at best. ( except Cagney’s ). Everything is dated and worn. Young crew very helpful but leadership invisible. Worth driving to NYC to get a different ship
Buffet was undersized but food was fair to good. Dining rooms were dark and food very salty. Cafeteria quality food
Pools are not sufficient ...
The major reason for choosing this cruise was because of how convenient it was...however after sailing with NCL I will def choose this cruise again for a variety of reasons.
The Gem is a smaller/older ship but very "user" friendly, esp. when traveling with older people.
Our our balcony cabin was a little on the smaller size but always clean, towels replaced, etc.
The Grand ...
The Restaurants, Shore excursions, entertainment were excellent. This was my 16th time going on Norwegian to Bermuda. This was my friend's 5th time
The service up on the deck was very poor it was very Hard to get a drink from any of the service staff as they were very sparse
We had a balcony room With people on both sides of us smoking on the a balcony and we had to file a ...
