Ship made for the Brochure but it’s not practical

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

This was our third cruise with NCL. The first cruise was on a Breakaway Plus Class and I give that a 5 out of 5. The second was the Pearl and we give that a 4 out of 5 but this new flagship Prima class is sadly a 2 out of 5. This is a brochure ship that it looks fun for all with the flashy race track (that takes up so much of the upper decks that you don’t see much sun) the pay mini golf and darts ...

Disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

If you are old or like to read a book and play cards with yourself, this ship is for you. If you enjoy life and having fun, and enjoy seeing others have fun, this ship is not for you. Entertainment was awful. The main show (Donna Summers) is about the most depressing thing you could watch on a cruise. The racetrack is a complete waste of space. The cars are not fast enough to entertain a ...

Staff is Excellent, Ship is Boring

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Overall the staff is very professional and well trained. Entertainment leaves much to be desired and venues are far too small. Sid's Pour House seats about 80 on a 3,000+ ship. Unlike on the Getaway and the Breakaway, they have four children perform the vocals instead of actual musicians and three of the kids cannot sing on key. Also the kids believe they are also a comedy act; they are ...

A spectacular failure of execution

I will start with the positive (yes, that is singular): the staterooms are well-designed with larger-than-average bathrooms and air conditioners that blow cold (if you don't mind them blowing in the smell of sewage and exhaust). The best word to sum up this cruise is crowded. It just feels like there are so many people everywhere. It is very difficult to find seating in the bar areas or ...

Prima is overcrowded and uncomfortable

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Norwegian Prima January 19-26, 2024 The cabin was clean and standard size. However the bathroom was the very best I’ve ever seen on a ship. Included large sink, ample shower with glass door and adjustable temperature and pressure. Both bath and cabin had more than sufficient storage. Be aware that the Prima has NO: library (all online), card/game room, or computer access. One gentleman ...

I wanted the bad reviews to be wrong...but they weren't

I really, really wanted to like the Prima....despite the negative reviews. Unfortunately, most of them were spot-on. I may be slightly biased because of my sheer lack of sleep on board due to our cabin door being broken and unable to seal shut. Meaning I was alarmingly awakened four out of seven mornings around 7:00 when the LOUD announcements blasted me out of bed (there was a 1/4-inch gap in the ...

Sorry sir, air is extra!

Will not cruise the Prima again. Possibly not Norwegian. Ship is cut up with way too many specialty restaurants that charge extra sitting vacant while the complementary restaurants are busting at the seems. (Clue to Norwegian - make about half of the specialties complementary!) The Haven segregates most of the aft from the regular fares and deck 8 is the only deck that can be circumnavigated ...

Not a vacation

Rated 2 since we got to spend time with family and friends. NCL Excursions - They give discounts for a reason. Terrible. Waste 1 hour prior to excursion. Staff on pier don't communicate and undertrained. Booked passengers on excursion to return at 5:00 pm when all aboard was 4:30. Staff communicated 10:30 pm evening before excursion asking passengers to arrive 30 min early. Excursion left one ...
