I have cruised NCL many times and have been on the Jade before. Things have changed with this cruise line. Customer service was not good. Could not get a water bottle or even a pad of paper and pen for the room. Was told this was only available for full suites and above, we had a balcony suite. Firstly…service was terrible. Fake smiles, eye rolling thinking I didn’t see. Could never find a waiter by pool area. Surprise charges on my bill and when asked to explain they seemed irritated that I ask. Saw my cabin steward twice. Room was never cleaned properly.

This is a terrible ship if you are at all sensitive or averse to cigarette smoke. The casino is the center point of the ship and you have to pass it if you want to eat or shop etc. It’s just a floating casino don’t be fooled. I had to stay in my stateroom a lot to avoid the smoke.

I have been on 14 cruises (4 Disney, 4 NCL, 3 Carnival, 2 Tradewinds catamarans, and 1 Costa). I am most disappointed with NCL. The service has gotten worse. I do like the NCL’s ports I’ve sailed (Bermuda, Mexican Pacific, Western Caribbean and Hawaii) but I would have had a better experience visiting those ports with another cruise line, or even sticking to resorts and getting a rental car.
