DISAPPOINTING SHIP AND CRUISE

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

This was our fifth cruise on Norwegian. As an aside, we have made reservations on other Norwegian cruises before, but we were notified of itinerary changes that made the cruise less desirable to us, before payment was due. Therefore we cancelled those reservations. This cruise was selected by my wife and I as a repeat of a January 2020 Southern and Eastern Caribbean (just before the Covid ...

Great Cruise

Took this cruise because of the itinerary, 14 days and 14 ports. Was a bit disappointed as 2 ports were changed. However from when I reached the NCL Hotel to getting back to Santo Domingo Airport I was not disappointed. Every one from guests to crew were very friendly. Hotel: Falcon Suites, only stayed for 6 hours, what a luxury. No information given by NCL about pick up time to port had to ...

Worst NCL ship I have ever been on.

I am platinum on my way to Sapphire with NCL. I'm also travel agent. This ship is the worst I have ever been on. If you have mobility issues, and need to use a wheelchair or a scooter and are traveling alone this ship is NOT for you. The bathrooms that are labeled as handicap accessible do not have any automatic door openers. Nor do many of the decks, with the exception of deck 11. Beside the ...

An overall decent winter getaway

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

Like the title says, overall this was a decent winter getaway. The ship was sold out which meant elevators were sometimes crowded, and the pool decks were almost always crowded but luckily not a huge amount of chair hogs. People were definitely camping out though. We booked this cruise and travelled with 3 other couples. All of us were booked in regular oceanview cabins (1 couple booked an ...

Broke away from the breakaway class ships and loved it.

Our first NCL cruise was on spirit (amazing cruise) but all bigger ships since. Didn’t think we’d go back to a small older ship till we saw this itinerary. 13 Caribbean islands on a 14 day cruise, no sea days, leaving from Dominican Republic. Took a few days to adjust to the layout and know our way around. Bliss lounge took the place of the atrium and we loved it. Much more seating but ...

Some things should be of vital importance to enjoy this cruise, but no help at all

Ths cruise was a 14 day Caribbean cruise that visited a different island every day. The itinerariy was fine, but two major things prevented being able to give a good review, which I always had done before on all of our past cruises. The first was that they should NEVER sell a cruise with three adults in those tiny basic rooms. We could have made do with two people, but three were an ...

Excellent cruise with awesome ports

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

To get away from winter weather up north. Price and latitude extras were also an incentive. We enjoy sailing on Norwegian. We also liked the BOGO airfare making it a better bargain. It was our first time booking a window cabin after several cruises with a balcony. It was a fine trade for reducing our cost as we just sailed most of these ports in November. The specialty restaurants were ...

Pros and Cons of NCL Jade

I booked this cruise on the spur of the moment during some unusually bitter winter weather here in Colorado which is not my normal way of doing things. We know NCL (we are gold latitude members), and they happened to have a cruise which was still open and reasonably tempting. As always their initial price was a real "come-on", but, of course, NCL will add many, many more charges (including their ...

Fantastic voyage

My husband and I just got back from a 14 day Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Jade. We had a great time. The check in process was quite quick, and we were on the ship by 12:30 enjoying lunch and cocktails. By 4:00 our cabin was ready. We had an inside cabin which was quite small, but we were hardly ever in it, just to sleep, shower, and get changed. The food and service were very good. I ...

Great new itinerary

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

User Avatar

This is a new cruise that Norwegian is testing. Starts in Dominica Republic, goes to 14 islands in 14 days, southern swinging up eastern back to Dominica Republic. It’s on the Norwegian Sky. Older, smaller ship but refurbished a few years ago. Because it’s a smaller ship, able to get into smaller islands. Only one tender to a private island. Lots of beaches, lots of cultural experiences and some ...
