My husband and I love NCL and have never been disappointed until now.
We chose the NCL Viva because we love cruising in new ships on their first transatlantic crossing.
The NCL Viva is visually stunning.
The comedians onboard were fantastic. The band in Syd Norman’s Pour House was wonderful.
However…
The 6-7-8 common areas are no longer the hub of the ship and are too small. On ...
Just got back from the transatlantic on board the brand new VIVA. The ship is beautiful.
Cabins: The rooms are much bigger than other ships. Plenty of outlets and a real modern feel. The bathrooms are large with great room in the shower.
Food: The food options are virtually unlimited. On an 11 day trip it was hard to eat at the same venue. We really enjoyed the Indulge food hall, ...
Love doing transatlantic cruises and have cruised with RCL, Disney, Norwegian and Princess transatlantics- this was by far the worst cruise in my 20+ yrs of cruising. This ship is setup totally wrong and the way in which Norwegian has utilized the small areas is lacking in customer comfort- I have never had to work harder at everything including the buffet. The seat hunt in the buffet is ...
Sailing on NCL's Viva in November, we embarked on a journey with expectations of a seamless blend of novelty and perfection. However, our experience unveiled a mix of highs and lows.
1. Expectations vs. Reality:
The Haven's loungers stained with airborne exhaust soot, leaving black marks on both furniture and clothing, was an unprecedented and unsatisfactory experience. The staff's ...
I chose this cruise because of the value for money, the ports and I had experience with NCL previously. This was my second time cruising. I was a bit hesitant to book the Dawn since she was built in 2002, and last refreshed 2016? I believe she may have a minor refresh in 2021 too. I was cruising with my parents.
The ports called on were: Rijeka, Split, Sarande, Katakolo/Olympia, Santorini, ...
We personally cruise for historical and cultural interests, and to see places that we've never been before--this itinerary met those criteria admirably. This was our 5th cruise with NCL, but first on Dawn, a smaller, somewhat older ship. She is well suited for this kid of trip, for cruisers who aren't looking for a lot of fancy recreation or entertainment--just comfortable accommodation and good ...
We chose this transatlantic cruise because of its port intensive itinerary. The added attraction was that it was scheduled to only have 4 consecutive days at sea. We ended up having 6 days at sea because the ship was unable to dock in Ponta Delgado due to poor weather.
Food in all venues was excellent. No complaints there.
Ship ran out of tea within the first few days & coffee towards the ...
We were on the Breakaway in 2018 out of New Orleans. It was a beautiful ship with excellent, attentive service. So it was a tremendous disappointment to find her so rundown and most of the crew never smiling. The balcony cabin on Deck 14 was well worn. Safe was broken, bedsheets had musty smell, bed and pillows were lumpy, balcony was rusty with paint chips flaking off everyday. Cabin steward was ...
Ship needs another set of elevators, bathrooms near the elevator on 15th Floor Café is much too small. Can’t make reservations for Complimentary Dining. Ship is much too big and venues are too small (always lineups for dinner, lineups for shows & Theatre, disembarkation, everything!), not enough seating in Garden Café, not enough quiet spots, Atrium area (6 & 7th floor) is way too loud. Too many ...
We chose this cruise because it was going to interesting places we hadn't seen before, and finishing in New York. Firstly we would mention that the ship was very nice, as was our room. On the whole, the food was very good, (on many occasions, could be hotter) and in most cases the staff were excellent. However in regard to organisation, It was a shambles! Half way through the cruise they ran out ...
