This being my first cruise I wasn't sure what I would expect. I live on Long island so driving to Manhattan Cruise terminal was not a big deal. Arrived early walk through security very quickly. Waiting no more than 15 to 20 minutes. Proceeded to go to the line that matched our edocs. just one tip this is where they give you your boarding number. Then proceeded to go to check in and set up our pictures and cruise cards. Then we took one picture by picture of the ship. ( and let me add this was the only time during the whole entire cruise that anyone bothered us to take a picture, we did see photographers and if you chose to take a picture we could have spoke to them. So people who say that they are bothered and they're very pushy are extremely exaggerating). Sat down and waited to be boarded. As I was sitting down I realized everyone but us had a boarding number. Ask one of the crew members that were they are what we should do, he told us as soon as they start calling numbers come up to him and he'll put us in a line. So we were able to board the ship right after the Haven customers. The whole process took maybe 40 minutes at most before we were on the ship and drinking. The ship itself was very very clean and beautiful. I will say that the smell of smoke is very strong in the casino. We were on the ship even before anyone was in the casino smoking,so if you're sensitive to smoke I can see it being a problem. Immediately booked our shows and change some dinner reservations. Very easy to do at the touch screens. Found another bar and had a few more drinks. Had the ultimate drink package that was one of our perks in the cruise and I would never cruise without one. Nothing that we drank the whole Cruise was over the $15 limit..No need to switch and pay for the more premium drink package it's not necessary. Had lunch in the Savoy restaurant. It was practically empty, I'm sure everyone was at the buffet or at the pub. By the time we were done with lunch our room was ready. We were on the 15th floor in the back of the ship with an angled balcony. The rooms I can see being on the small side but for two people it was more than enough, four people though I can see it being a tight squeeze. We had extra space on all balcony which was wonderful. But I will say if you're prone to seasickness definitely do not have the back of the ship cabins. You can really feel the ship moving. Met our room Stewart, Rochelle, immediately. She was absolutely wonderful the whole trip. Anything we needed we got. Our room was always clean and neat. Not a problem at all. By this time we attended the muster drill, it took about 30 minutes and it was over we proceeded to go to" it's 5 somewhere bar"and sit outside for departure. Got to see everything from this location, all the buildings, statue of liberty, and it was beautiful. Then because the weather is still a little cold in November in New York we went to the spa. We paid for the weeks pass prior to leaving, and it was worth every penny. It was wonderful and we never had a problem of anyone from the spa trying to upsell us any of their products or sessions. Also it would be quite impossible for people who don't have the pass to sneak into the spa. You have to go past the whole entire desk of employees and they have to open the door with a different key. You also have to leave your card at the front desk. So people who left other reviews stating that anyone can get in the spa is a lie.The only negative thing about the spa was that the snow room was closed. It wouldn't be much of a big deal if I happen to know that it was closed and August and also October. So it doesn't look like it's a priority to Norwegian to fix. Would have loved to gone from the steam room to the snow room. But even with that it was worth the money. I would have to say that all the food even at the buffet was very good. Service in the restaurants that come with the cruise was excellent. We never received are meal right on top of our appetizers. The servers in those restaurants do an excellent job. All the bar staff that we dealt with through the cruise was top-notch. Allall the crew that we've came in contact with throughout the whole entire ship was always smiling polite and happy. Never saw anyone that wasn't smiling.Hardly ever had to wait for a drink at all. Went to the two specialty restaurants, and they were also very good. At the Brazilian steakhouse BBQ I will say that the service was a little slow. We also saw all the shows that the ship had to offer. I felt they were all done very very well. Not everyone has the same taste, but the cast and everything we saw was top-notch. The pool itself I will completely with most reviews I've read, is very very small for 4,000 people. We spent most of our time up in the spice H2O lounge which was adults only. But the cruise being in November when most children have school there weren't many kids on the ship. If you have a problem dealing with children I would suggest taking a cruise when school is in session. Disembarking the ship in Manhattan was a little chaotic. The elevators open on people on the lines, everyone yelling not to cut them off, not enough Norwegian crew out to keep the lines in order. But got on top of it as quickly as they could, and it only took about 45 minutes to disembark the ship with the self checkout. I would highly recommend Norwegian to anyone who would like to take a cruise. Enjoyed the trip immensely. Read Less

From the start, dealing with the NCL staff in making the arrangement for the cruise was a very good experience, the staff was much more helpful then most of the other cruise lines. The price of the trip was fare, The ship was renovated recently and was in excellent condition. The balcony cabin was more then enough room for two people and was kept clean by the staff constantly. The food and the dining experience were impeccable. As for the entertainment and activities the cruise director (Jacky) was incredible, I was impressed with his schedule of entertainment and activities he had during this cruise. Service by the staff through out ship was impeccable. The cruise line also provided a numerous amount of port and shore excursions. In my opinion NCL is one of the best cruise lines out there and I will be traveling with them in the near future again. Read Less

We had a last minute thought to get on this cruise for the weekend. It was awesome!!!! From the food, staff, activities, ports of call, and the service The Norwegian Sky is a great ship for a short getaway. The cabins are extremely clean, they are all redone and the bathroom was bigger than some of the larger ships that I have been on recently. The dining rooms and common areas of the ship were decorated with taste and easy to access. Never waited for a drink more than a few minutes and everyone was very eager to make the trip a memorable one. The food at the buffet was of high quality and the "Washy washy" greeters were pleasant and always expressing the need to wash hands and not spread germs to the rest of the guests. Dining room staff and food was well presented and very tasty. The gym was always active but we rarely would have to wait for anything. Pools were large and plenty of deck chairs were available while we were at sea. The one down side was there were no water slides for the kids to enjoy but it was not a deal breaker. They did have golf range areas, shuffle board, basketball, and plenty of great live entertainment all cruise long. Read Less

This was my first time ever on a cruise and I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. I’ll start by saying the staff on the sun were absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. Not only did the staff do an amazing job, but they made us feel at home and went beyond their job titles to make everyone feel welcome and special. Our room was amazing and extremely clean everyday. Very thankful for our housekeeper. We ate dinner every night at the Seven Seas and it was absolutely amazing. The menu was amazing and there were endless possibilities for dinner. We celebrated two birthdays on board and they were amazing thanks to everyone who took part in the experience. All of the staff in each lounge were very helpful and made sure we had the best experiences possible. Jamie the cruise director was amazing at her job and coordinated a great trip with so many great things to do on board. Definitely enjoyed everyday out on the islands. Everything was great from getting off the boat to the beech and even back on board . The private island exceeded my expectations with the cleanliness and fun atmosphere. Also very thankful for Irma and her advice on how to shop in Nassau. With her help we were able to find many great gifts to bring back home and enjoy. I took part in the stingray city excursion on November 8th and it was by far the most fun I’ve ever had. Our guide Miguel was super nice and made sure to make our experience far more than just taking photos with the rays. I would highly recommend traveling with Norwegian Cruise Line to anyone looking for a get away. I most definitely will be looking back into traveling with Norwegian again in the future. Thank you so much for the great staff and the unforgettable memories made! Read Less

The ship was beautiful and clean and everyone we met were super friendly and helpful. The cabin, was beautiful and clean and surprisingly spacious. The food selection was really good and plentiful. The entertainment was also very good with a good selection for all tastes. There were plenty of quiet areas on the ship too if you wanted to just get away and relax. All the crew from the minute we were checking in to the very last minute when we left were so helpful and kind and friendly, they all made us feel very special and as if we were the only people they were dealing with. The weather was lovely. The private island was perfect the food selection and preparation were really good and at no time was it ever crowded or queing for anything. Read Less

My cabin was spacious and I loved having the balcony to go out on when I was in my room. The Vegas show was great. the entertainment director was everywhere and very good at her job, i loved the Not so newlywed game show night. i enjoyed all the ports and the excursions, however would have enjoyed more cultural options on land. the ports were beautiful and the guides that showed us around were knowledgeable. i would defiantly do this cruise again as well as cruise with Norwegian again. i traveled with my adult family there were no children in my group. embarkation from the boat was simple and easy. This was our first cruise so we weren’t sure what to expect, but now I can say I will only cruise norwegian for vacations from here forward. Getting on the ship was so easy and took about 10 minutes from checking in to walking aboard. Our stateroom was perfect ( we had an ocean view). It had 2 twin beds and a pull out couch. Being able to chose when and where we ate was so important to us because some days we were busier than others and we got to fit eating times into our schedule. The food was amazing and there were so many options to chose from. Each crew member we encounter was so kind and made sure we were having a great time. Harold (one of the bartenders) even remembered my name and drink order. We were a little worried with a day at sea that we would get cabin fever but they planned activities out so well that the day flew by! The ports were so beautiful and made me never want to leave. I will definitely be cruising with norwegian hopefully soon! Read Less

This was my first cruise and it was great! So much food! Sometimes the food wasn't that hot as I thought it would be, but it still tasted good. There was so much to do! I wish the Go Karts and Laser Tag didn't cost as much. But both water slides were fun!! The pools were little disappointing. They were very small and there's 4,000 guests. Still too small even if 2,000 guests wanted to be at the pool . There was a lot of places to lay out in sun, but you couldn't really get into the pool because all these people were there. We decided to just go to the adult area of 18+ and it was nice. At least there was a water feature to cool off under. The hot tubs were nice too. The other activities and music were fun. I loved Jersey Boys and seeing Comedy shows. I didn't like that the casino smelt the cigarettes. Was there smoking allowed in the closed off part of the casino? Read Less

We took the 14 night gem cruise because of cruise credits expirations. We were pleasantly surprised as last cruise on ncl was epic in 2013. Recently doing RCL and celebrity. Dining room staff excellent food decent. Activities staff outstanding. Zumba with Jeff was outstanding. Daily dancing activities. Every night a dance theme parties. Ports were excellent. Unfortunately quite a few drunks as this drink package thing is not controlled. The ship is a little worn out. Paint chipping etc. Prism band was outstanding. Production shows were excellent. Other acts were fair to great. We had an issue with chemical smell in our first ocean view room and after days of complaining we were switched to a balcony floor 8. Thankfully we enjoyed the fresh air but ceiling paint chips kept us out of balcony. Ncl activities staff were excellent and the dance parties were great as they added so much to everyone. Cruise came to an early end as a medical emergency had captain cruise full speed and we got off the ship with our luggage at 8 pm Thursday after dinner and show. I’m home writing review instead of waiting to embark on Friday morning. Read Less

I chose Norwegian Cruise Line because I wanted to experience one of their ships. It was not a disappointment. The food all the way from breakfast to dinner including snacks and dessert were delicious. Every restaurant and any other venue on board were all upscale. Activities to entertainment were all that. You never run out of things to do or places to go. Staff and service were superb. Our stateroom with balcony was beautiful. Cleaniness was 100%. Everything and everyone were well organized. And they force strong precaution on sanitation and safety which is a plus. Their private island Great Stirrup Cay was beautiful. The boarding procees and disembarking were a breeze. Our Norwegian travel agent put our vacation together and we had no worries. Everything from air flight to grounds transportation arriving and departing were no hassle. Everything listed on the ship's itinerary ran ontime. Directions around the ship were easy to follow and remember. I will definitely travel with Norwegian again. Read Less

Room steward Jun was amazing. We received excellent service in all venues. The NCL shore excursions were exactly as described and we'll done. The service desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, this was our best NCL cruise ever, number 11. Our embarkation was non eventful and we walked right on, our disembarkation was the same. We recommend coming to Venice a few days early to explore the city and take care of any jet lag as there is little down time during the cruise. We feel we got value for our travel dollar. We strongly recommend this itinerary, we are thinking it will change a little next year as the Venice cruise restrictions required the skipping of Motor, but we never missed it because of the superior ship and crew. There was always something to do on the cruise as well. My friends and I, not once were bored at the cruise ship. We had a great time going to the salsa classes, partner shows, 5’clock somewhere bar was the enjoyable karaoke nights, or just chill and enjoy the view by the pool deck. Oh and let me mention, the music was always on point, from playing known classical, to some reggae to dance to. I literally had the time of my life. I'm 65 years old and have never been to Europe. What better way to see it than on a cruise? This cruise is all about the ports, there is only one sea day and most of the port days are long. This was my first cruise on a mega ship, but it didn't really feel much different than the smaller ships. There are lines for some things, but never long. Embarkation went quickly and smoothly. We did have Latitudes priority boarding, which helped. This cruise is either round trip from Barcelona, or from Rome. Probably 20% of the passengers embark in Rome, so they're not all embarking at the same time in Barcelona. We had the specialty dining package as a free perk. Our first specialty restaurant was Tepannyaki, the Japanese restaurant where the food preparation is a show. Six seats are around the cook top, and it's very entertaining. If you can't decide what entrée to get, just pick one. The cook makes extra, and will share. Second was the Cirque Dreams dinner show. This show was the highlight of the cruise, and worth the extra price. The entrée at dinner was a steak in peppercorn sauce. My wife didn't like the sauce, I thought it was great. The steak was very tender. The third was Cagney's steakhouse. Very elegant, great food and service. The specialty of the house for dessert was the raspberry crème brulet. You won't be disappointed. As good as the specialty restaurants were, I wouldn't go to them without the dining package, especially as a free perk. The bill at Cagney's, dinner alone without drinks, was $190, but covered by the dining package. The main dining rooms are very good, and if you don't do any of the specialty dining, you'll still have a great time. Breakfast was served at O'Sheehan's, Taste, and the buffet. O'Sheehan's was good, the selection was more limited, Taste is one of the main dining rooms, and the best place for breakfast if you're not pressed for time. Don't miss the pound cake French toast. The buffet was quite good, good variety and quality. We did the buffet breakfast only when we had an early shore excursion, not because there was anything wrong with it, but because we could be served at other places. Orange juice at the buffet is out of a machine, if you want fresh squeezed, you pay for it, but can get it free at Taste. The two main dining rooms are Taste and Manhattan Room. I think they're the same menu, but Manhattan Room is a nicer room, and has live music, sometimes a show. the food was great. Always great service. I already mentioned the Cirque Dreams show, it's mostly covered by the dining package, and is a do not miss. We missed Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Burn the Floor was very entertaining. The casino was good to me. Blackjack can be had for $10 minimum with poor rules, but can be had with good rules for $15. Craps is $10 minimum, 3-4-5x odds. Roulette is $2 chips, I don't recall the minimum bet. Let it Ride, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold 'em are offered with $5 minimums. Judging by the pay tables on the video poker, the slots are probably pretty tight. This is the fourth Norwegian cruise I've been on, and service has always been consistently good. When in port, be sure to have some Euros with you, even if you're paying with credit cards. Restrooms charge half to one Euro, and they don't accept American dollars. If you buy something in a restaurant, bar, or other business with a restroom, you can use their restroom for free. Barcelona-We spent four nights after the cruise, beautiful city. The two main attractions are La Sagrada Familia and the Picasso Museum. For either of them, buy tickets ahead of time, they are timed, and they will be less crowded in the morning. A good and inexpensive meal can be had at the tapas bars that are all over, about 15-20 euros for a couple. Naples-We took an excursion to Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, not an NCL excursion. Amalfi Coast was stunningly beautiful. I've been fascinated by Pompeii since learning about it in fourth grade, so this excursion was quite memorable. Rome-Don't let the long time in port fool you. If you have an excursion, it will probably leave an hour after arriving in port. Then it's an hour and a half into Rome, maybe more depending on traffic, an hour and a half back, and you have to be back on board half an hour before sailing. That takes four and a half hours out of the day. We did the Rome on Your Own shore excursion. When we got our shore excursion tickets, there was a note saying to not book anything in Rome for before 11:00 am. A little late for that warning. We had tickets to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Made it there just in time. This cruise gets to Rome on Wednesday, which is the day the Pope gives a public address. This may be the reason Rome was so crowded, maybe it's always like that, just be prepared for crowds. The Vatican Museum was amazing, and Sistine Chapel was jaw dropping. After that, we had lunch, went to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps (right next to each other) and then it was time to return. Florence-If you didn't read what I wrote about Rome, go back and read the first part of it. The same applies to Florence. We took the Hop on-Hop Off bus tour in Florence. A bus takes you into Florence, then you catch the HO-HO bus. We had tickets for the Uffizi Gallery, and arrived half an hour after the assigned time (again, don't book anything before 11:00 am!) but they let us in without any trouble. Florence was the center of the Renaissance, and I'm sure the Uffizi is the largest and best collection of Renaissance art in the world. Well worth seeing. Again, we had lunch, saw the Duomo, then back to the ship without ever stepping on the HO-HO bus that we'd paid for. But it did get us into Florence, so it was worth it. My wife and I both agreed that Florence was the best part of the cruise. Cannes-Nice city, very upscale, many stores I can't afford to shop in, it's like Beverly Hills was moved to the beach. There is a tour called the Little Bus that loads near the dock, as I recall it was 12 Euros each. It took us up to a beautiful cathedral, which had great views of the city. Cannes is a beautiful city, but other than the cathedral, there wasn't much that caught my attention. Palma-By the time you get to Palma, you're probably still worn out from the Italian stops, but the ship doesn't dock until 1:00 pm, so you can sleep in. We took a hop on-hop off bus that took us up to a castle. Like Cannes, it's a beautiful city, but other than the castle, and maybe the cathedral which we didn't have time to go to, not much there. To sum it up, this cruise is all about the ports, and it is tiring. Well worth it, fun, interesting, beautiful, but tiring. It was worth it, I'm not complaining, just know what you're getting. We particularly enjoyed The Bistro restaurant. My husband was very impressed with his steak dinners! Cooked with perfection. Drinks were made perfectly. Excursions were amazing! Even the weather co operated! only one rainy day which was fine for exploring the boat as there was so much to see & do on it! Enjoyed the Beatles tribute. Loved the musical Priscilla of the desert! I have never cruised before nor had a ever wanted to. My friends talked me into it and I am beyond happy they did!!! Can’t wait for my next one. We chose The Bliss and I was blown away with this ship. From the minute we stepped aboard to the sad moment we disembark was the best holiday I have EVER had. I brought all the things for getting sea sick, gravel, bracelets etc. Never used a thing!!! You didn’t feel like you were moving at all, sometimes you forgot you were on the ship. Wow what an experience!! The fun at the pool, always something happening, games or a band, so much fun. Delicious food and such a variety. Cagney was my favourite!!! We had a balcony stateroom and I would sit out there and watch the beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The entertainment was unbelievable, we saw the Jersey boys, a Beatles cover band and three comedians. FABULOUS!! The three ports we went to were amazing, I liked Cabo the best. When I told people this was my first cruise they all said the same thing, you have set the bar high on this cruise, you will never see entertainment like this on any other cruise. Oh well guess I better stick with Norwegain then. Thank you to all the crew on the Bliss, you all were amazing. Thank you to the booking staff as well, you too were amazing and so helpful. All of the staff was courteous, friendly and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the dining facilities. The photographs taken are a little expensive, but for my first cruise, I just had to have them. The shore excursions, especially the tour of the island was extremely informative and a lot of fun. The only thing that was difficult was having reservations for the specialty dining. The reservations were for so late a time, that we missed a lot of the shows. I would not do reservations in the future because of that. The comedy show was fabulous and the Blazing Boots show was the best. I would definitely go again, and use the same travel agent, Chris Chambo. Read Less

We enjoyed our balcony view of the ocean and getting to see the sunrises and sunsets. The room size was perfect and I loved how there were hand sanitizing stations everywhere on the ship. That was a huge plus! The only downside to this ship, is that there wasn't a slide or laser tag or anything fun like that. Only basketball and golf I think. Our embarkation to Great Stirrup Cay was AMAZING! It was the highlight of our trip and my boyfriend's favorite! Your food and beverages package still applies while on the island. So your food and drinks are still included free, you just have to pay the island tax on your drinks (not expensive). The music was great and the water was clear. Plenty of beach chairs available for everyone! I am so grateful for this cruise because it has definitely brought my babe and I closer together. Thanks Norwegian! Read Less

This cruise trip was arranged more than 1 year ago. We had never been to Mexico and we wanted to give it a try on the newest NCL ship, Norwegian Bliss. The gorgeous looking Norwegian Bliss was beyond my imagination. We had a wonderful holiday and had fun exploring the 3 cities which Bliss had brought us to. We also enjoyed dancing at different venues in the evenings. With the specialty dining package, it enabled us to try out different food types and dining atmospheres. The shore excursions to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas were interesting that they had showed us the culture of Mexico and the beautiful cities. I wished the port stay in Cabo San Lucas could be longer as it’s such a beautiful place. We didn’t get much time to shop at the port area after few hours of shore excursion. The dining venues were busy every night but we didn’t have problem getting seats when walking in to any of the main dining restaurant. As our package included 4 specialty dining, we had booked the dinner way in advance with the help of NCL Australia office. Luckily we did it because on Bliss, most specialty dining venues were fully booked on most of the time slots. The “Jersey Boys” was probably one of the main highlights on the ship that the response was overwhelmed with people queuing up outside the theatre as standby. The “Six” is a new show on the ship but the response was not bad as well. The Guest Services team sent a note to my room to welcome our group and helped us with the dance class arrangement. We are grateful to Cruise Director, Jake for this special arrangement, and the kind assistance from Marina from Guest Services. During the trip, I wrote a feedback regarding the time confusion as the NCL app was showing a different timing from the time we were asked to adjust back. Surprising the relevant staff was able to find me at the dining table that particular night to follow up regarding this. Bliss’ public area consists of many nice details and we felt very comfortable at every corners. My personal favourite place is the brilliant Observation Lounge at Deck 15. I enjoyed the light breakfast and watching sunrise from there. Ladies will definitely feel pampered by the shopping spirit on the ship, especially on port days. It will be great if NCL could broadcast more about the shopping offers in Mexico prior to boarding. Bliss is quite unlike the other NCL ships that it is between premium and the mass, it is just so special and lovely. Read Less

I wanted to see Canada during colorful Fall weather and I was NOT disappointed. Love that we have graduated to suite category now. Butler and Concierge are really nice touches. Was not as impressed with Teppanyaki chefs as I have been on other ships. Although the food was good, their flare was not impressive.. Cagney's Steakhouse was great. Moderno Brazillian Steakhouse was not great except for the filet mingion, which was delicious. The other cuts were cooked too done, even tho I told them medium. .Breakfast there was good.. Shows were good and a great variety.. I do not like the fact that very few cabins have shower stalls. Majority have tub/shower combo and this one was too deep for me to get my leg over. I wish they would take this into consideration of us older folks. . It was not a handicapped room, but there was a grab bar by the toilet, which I appreciated. Read Less

First time cruising outside of the Caribbean and first time on NCL. This is NOT a one and done but a forever go-to cruise line. Exceptional food, service, cleanliness of the ship, professional staff and there is always something to do. The suites were perfect size with modern features and lighting along with the balcony being the perfect size for coffee in the morning. The food was exceptional at EVERY place we went with La Bistro being a 6 star restaurant. The shows were truly off-Broadway with the acting and variety. The excursions were very well organized, understandable in what to do and courteous staff to answer any questions one may have before embarking for the day. For night life - Bliss is a fun place to meet up with new friends and end the evening with a twist either on the dance floor or in your drink,. If you haven't cruised NCL, then you truly haven't cruised yet! Read Less

I was on the Breakaway for back to back cruises October 6-20 2019. I was able to stay in the same stateroom, which was great. This was my 10th cruise on NCL and I have loved every one of them. The food was great, both in the specialty restaurants and the main dining rooms. My mid-ship mini-suite with balcony was wonderful. The staff were all great, never had an issue of any kind with any of them. The drink server in the casino and the Vibe beach club called my by my name from the first day onward and knew what I wanted to drink. I read some of these reviews and wonder if these people were on the same ship as I was. The only thing I can figure is that there are some people you could not please no matter what you do for them. I have already booked 3 more cruises with NCL and am very much looking forward to them. Read Less

My husband decided to take me on our first cruise to Bermuda. We both never went on a cruise before, so, we were very excited. From the phone reservation that we made with Starling (NCL representative), to the end of our trip, we were just amazed by the whole process and operation. We found it easy to deal with. The embarkation process information could be a little bit clearer. After the cruise, we thought a later embarkation time is better. If you arrive early, you may have to wait in line. They call people by the group number. So, later time would guarantee less wait time because your group number would have been called already. The Escape ship is huge and beautiful! It didn’t look that big while we’re inside because walking from the front to the back of the ship didn’t take that long or could it be due to activities and decorations surrounding the interior ship. Once we embarked on the ship, we went to the buffet section because we were advised to do so by the staff at the ticket counter without knowing that the main dining rooms were already opened for business. So, please go to the main dining room if you could wait a little bit to get your meal, otherwise go to Garden Cafe buffet on Deck 16 to eat right away. We were hungry due to waiting in line, so it worked out good. We only enjoyed the buffet 2-3 days for breakfast and lunch during our 7-day cruise. We went to the main dining rooms and specialty restaurants most of the time. We received 3 specialty restaurants plus free Wi-Fi service that came in the package. However, the free Wi-Fi lasted 4 hours, so on top of that, we bought an unlimited Wi-Fi service for only $80+ and stayed connected the entire time. After lunch on embarkation day, we went straight to our room. We booked an Oceanview as per Starling, because of our first-time cruise. He was correct to suggest this because we spent most of our time outside the cabin. We had Natalie, a lovely steward. She was so nice from day one. She cleaned the room each time we walked out, so the room was always clean and neat. Awesome! The employees were exceptional! Whatever training they made them do was worthwhile and paid off. I think Norwegian Cruise Line nailed it in the service business. The hosts and hostesses were very accommodating. Sometimes this goes both ways. We’re the type of people who make conversation with employees no matter where we go and dine. This little thing goes a long way. We remember Jay Bee Morales, Noelia, Luh, Ivanna, Claire, Wayan, Chris T, Dinalo, and many others but these names stick with us because we talked to them more than once. We were so thankful for Jay Bee’s hospitality. He’s an assistant Maitre D and he ran a great crew! Everyone on the ship worked hard to maintain the service to a high standard. I must admit that we plan to take the same cruise again. About the entertainment on the ship, we saw two shows. The third night we saw “After Midnight”. We booked this before the cruise date. This show was mindboggling! We enjoyed the performance, especially the tap dance by the trio. We also enjoyed the singing by 2-3 talented artists, great voice! On ‪our last night,‬ we saw “The Choir of Man” and this one was fantastic! We booked this on board. The selected songs in this show were perfect. We enjoyed the music and don’t mind seeing it again. We will try the comedy club and karaoke next time. The food at specialty restaurants was slightly better than the main dining rooms. We liked the French restaurant, Le Bristo. Teppanyaki came in second place and the Italian restaurant, La Cucina was just so-so. At Teppanyaki you would get a complete set of the dish plus full entertainment by the Chef. We had Yudo as our Chef. The chefs sang while preparing and decorating food, the whole nine yard! The Italian restaurant, La Cucina couldn't really compete with Italian restaurants in NY; it was just ok. We will try other specialty restaurants next time but definitely would go back to Le Bristo. We had the opportunity to use the gym and the experience was amazing because I used the treadmill and elliptical machines overlooking the sea, how cool is that! I also visited the mini library. This state-of-the-art room was beautifully decorated. The gallery of paintings took a lot of space. They were nice to look at but we wouldn’t purchase them because some of them were not authenticated. We didn’t use any excursions because my husband knows Bermuda well. He’s been there a few times in the past. The ferry from Royal Naval Dockyard to St George’s and Hamilton are not hard to get. There’re plenty of transportations to take us to the beach. We tried the bus to Horseshoe Bay Beach (gorgeous beach!) and we also used the ferry that took us back from Hamilton to the dockyard. I will try to see more of Bermuda next time. The weather didn’t cooperate on one of the three days we were there. The last day in Bermuda we went to the Snorkel Beach, 5 min-wall from the dockyard. This was not a bad beach but too small and we had to pay to access this beach. We never went on a cruise prior to this and we're glad the first experience was magnificent! The overall experience was fantastic! Thanks for making our first cruise a happy one! Read Less
