This will go down as one of the most "eventful" cruises I've ever taken. Had some time off and at the last minute (say less than 3 weeks) I decided to take a cruise. Didn't care where it was going to, or what port. I just wanted to get away after a grueling Holiday (personal reasons). Going solo, I thought about getting a solo cabin. But, I just so happen to like nice cabins when I cruise....balcony? Check. No obstructions visually? Check. Easy to get to and from the "action"? Check. That's the kind of cabin I want! While looking at pricing on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC, and Celebrity, I found a mini-suite cabin with a large balcony on the NCL Escape. And, it was nearly the same price as a regular balcony cabin. Plus, it was less expensive than all the other cruise lines I was looking at. I'm in! Going out of NYC to the Bahamas (as the Escape was) in February is a bit of a crap shoot, which is probably why the cruise was such a good deal. But, I've sailed out of NYC before (albeit to Bermuda instead of the Bahamas for this cruise). I knew the Atlantic could be a bit rough sailing, particularly in the winter. Flights booked, cabin booked, hotel booked (Sofitel in Mid-Town NYC). All systems go. Flying in and out of NYC is always an adventure. Using my Delta points, I flew in to LGA, but could only get reasonable flights out of EWR. No matter....I'm flexible. Flying into LGA was uneventful, and actually on time. I used goairlinkshuttle.com, which I arranged in advance, to get me to the hotel. Again, uneventful.....they were prompt, let me know where they were outside the airport. And, everything went off without a hitch. $20 + tip and away I went. This is all good. While it was cold, again I expected the weather. Got settled at the hotel (points used meaning it was a free stay for me). Was close enough to Times Square that I had the evening to hang out, walk around, people watch and get some excellent street food. Followed that up with couple of drinks at a dive bar (which are the best) headed back to the hotel for a good night's rest. Next a.m. (Sunday), I was up early. Walked to Starbucks, two coffees and one muffin later, I was back in the hotel room, repacking to leave. Called up an Uber about 9:00 a.m., headed to the hotel front door, Uber driver called twice saying he could not find me. I had texted him the name and the EXACT address of the hotel, but he could not find me. Getting ready to hail a taxi after about 20 minutes of this craziness, Uber showed up. Driver swore I was not at the entrance. I was, waiting, looking for his white Toyota Sienna (which is a big mini-van, and very hard to miss), which was nowhere to be found. I "harrumphed", got in the van, and off we went. Driver seemed confused as to where the cruise terminals were. Again, gave him the EXACT address, along with the large PIER 88 picture I had on my phone. We got there, but he should not be an Uber driver. He reported to Uber than he had to wait on me and they tacked on a $12 wait charge. Oh no...ain't happening. I logged a complaint, and within minutes the $12 charge was deducted. No tip and a bad review for the driver. But, I'm at the entrance of check-in. It's 9:45. All's good. Typical scene, particularly that early in the a.m. People disembarking, looking haggard, trying to find their rides, or lugging their bags to the parking lot. And, then there were us bright eyed, busy tailed folks, early, ready to embark. I'm Platinum Latitudes, so I got a seat in the Platinum, Platinum+ and Ambassador waiting area (right by the embarkation doors to the ship). Checked in, found a seat, it was about 10:15 a.m. I had fun talking to others in the area. All of us excited, talking about what we were going to do first, where we were from.....obviously, we sailed NCL quite a bit, so we all listed our ships, talked about our other cruises, etc. Before I knew it, we were announced to get ready to board. Time flew as it was now 10:45 a.m. By 10:50, we were walking the "plank" to get on the ship. I've sailed enough to know that the less luggage you have, the better the trip will be. Given the days of wearing suits, tuxes etc are long gone, I limit my clothing to the essentials....boxers, shorts, button down short sleeve shirts, a pair of dockers (if I have dinner in Le Bistro), a pair of jogging and swim trunks, some workout t-shirts, socks, shorty socks to use with tennis shoes, a pair of tennis shoes, a pair of closed toe shoes (usually Sperry Boat Shoes), electric razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, the Bose Mini-Link speaker (for music sitting on my balcony either having cocktails or early a.m. coffee), iPad, iPhone, Bose Blue Tooth earbuds, Hero Camera, various cords and plugs to charge everything. THAT. IS. IT. So, I use this for all of my main packing.... https://www.awaytravel.com/luggage/bigger-carry-on/brick And, I use this for my shoes, electronics, tickets, passport, cords, plugs, any medicine, speaker, iPad, etc..... https://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/tls-professional-slim-laptop-backpack/249582?productid=10317756 As such, I have no checked baggage, and anything I need is with me at all times. There's a method to this madness. I never have to worry about a porter mislabeling my bag or breaking the zipper (both of which have happened to me. Neither is fun!). I don't have to wait for my luggage to be delivered to my cabin, as it's with me. And, I can just walk off at disembarkation without doing the "hunt for your bag among the 1,000s waiting at the pier. Both are easy to roll (backpack on top of the wheeled roll aboard). So, now I'm able to go straight to "HEADLINERS" area to get VIBE passes. Surprise was one of the things I experienced upon finding they had raised the price of the VIBE from $99/pp (which was the price the last time I bought them on a different ship) to $209/pp. Thought about not buying them, but I had quite a bit of OBC ($450) that I took the plunge. Was it worth it? NO! Will I buy the VIBE again? NO! I think NCL has priced themselves out of the VIBE private area with me. Time for my first "drink of the day". Scored one right outside of HEADLINERS at "5 0'Clock Somewhere" Bar. Ahhhhh.....delicious. Bartenders were very accommodating and quite fun to chat with. I'd stop there often during the cruise. First drink down. Time for some lunch. Experience tells me that there's no way I'm going to the Garden Cafe buffet. I know what that looks like at lunch on embarkation day. Instead, I headed to O'Sheehans. Yes, it was busy. But, I was seated within minutes. Ordered a burger and a beer, both delicious, and just as I was finishing, they announced the cabins were ready. Rolling my luggage to the cabin #8726, opened the door and SHAZAM, this cabin is great. And, the balcony is HUGE, fitting 2 loungers, 2 upright chairs, one small table, one larger table. Plus, I was just a few steps away from "THE DISTRICT" Brewhouse and "FOOD REPUBLIC". Having the drink package, there were no extra charges for anything I drank at THE DISTRICT. Plus, it had a great view with all the windows and couches overlooking the water. I had the dining package, too. But, FOOD REPUBLIC was not included. Still, I ate there a couple of times. Food was outstanding and in reality, I never spent more than $10 each time, came away full. Hitting the WaterFront, which is one of my favorite areas of the ship, there are chairs, couches, bars and even al fresco dining areas. I hit up the bars in and around The Waterfront. Yes, it was cold, but I kept moving (and drinking) so I didn't seem to mind it. Explored more and it was quickly time for the safety briefing. It went on without a hitch. And, something I'd never seen before, those who came late, didn't have their Sea Pass cards scanned (as the people doing the scanning were getting ready for the demo with the life preservers). Those who were tardee had to return the next day and do it again. I liked that. Why hold everyone else up, who also want to get on with their vacation, waiting on a few people? It's not like there weren't plenty of announcements all over the ship (including cabins). That out of the way, I was planning on going to the upper decks to see sailaway, but given how nice my balcony was, I grabbed a beer (actually two of them) from the DISTRICT and headed to the balcony. Sat there, music playing, watching sailaway. One of the best I've experienced. Plus, I had quick access to my own private bathroom in the process. Time for dinner....as a solo, I'm flexible. I have no problems eating alone. And, I do enjoy being seated with strangers, making new friends. Headed to SAVOR, one of the MDRs. I was seated with some interesting people. I enjoyed their company, just wouldn't want to sit with them again. Food was excellent. But, I bolted after desert, not wanting to stick around for any further idle conversation ("no....it's not you....it's me"). The rest of the time I just explored....having a drink here and a drink there. Peaking into this area, or another area. If you don't know, the ship is built around decks 6,7,8 as the hub. That's why it's known as 678 Ocean Place. From that point you can get to the casino, shopping, the HUGE video screen in the Atrium. You can get specialty coffees there, go to customer service, the excursion desk, "Cruise Next" desk. A lot of activities are centered around 678 Ocean Place. This is where it gets "interesting". By about 11:00 p.m. I was about ready to look at the inside of my eyelids for a while. Headed to the cabin, jumped into bed. But, was quickly awakened by the sound of bottles rattling around on the floor (received two bottles of bubbly from NCL and my TA). The ship was pitching, and before I could get awake enough to get my wits about me, I was literally thrown from my bed, onto the floor. I had a plate of chocolate covered strawberries that were hurled across the room, as well as my phone (which was plugged in, but was unplugged by the listing ship). Tried to stand up (sideways), got to my feet, headed to my balcony door, throwing the drapes open, and there was all of my balcony furniture doing a literal dance on the balcony. A minute later, a table and two chairs went flying out over the balcony glass wall and into the abyss. Jeez-Louise!!!!!!!! Threw on some shorts, a t-shirt and my Top-Siders, I went out to the hall of the cabin. People were holding onto the wall. I figured maybe going to the Atrium, I could see what was happening. Glass was on the floor, it was wet, there were some drinks spilled and a few chairs sliding around. Some people had fallen. I did my best to help them up and to see if they were hurt. Myself, another passenger who was a nurse was helping too. No one was really hurt, just scared. Headed to the casino as that was close, too. Helped some people up who had fallen. Again, no one was hurt badly, but had fallen and perhaps had a sprain or a bump on the head. This went on for about an hour. The Captain and CD were on the intercom constantly and calmly, telling the passengers what was going on. Crew were everywhere, helping whomever, wherever they were needed....doing so professionally and calmly. Finally, by midnight, the Captain gave the "all clear" announcement. Found out the next day, we were hit by a sudden and unexpected ~125 MPH wind. The ship actually listed about 15º. That doesn't sound like much, until you get thrown from your bed, or try to walk. It didn't just list and stop. It kept listing back and forth. Went back to the cabin....tried to sleep, but did so only fitfully. Next day, there was quite a mess in my cabin. Went to breakfast at the Garden Cafe. It looked like nothing had happened. The only way you would have known, was from each passenger's own account of what they experienced. Went back to my cabin, and my steward had it looking like nothing was amiss, including replacing the balcony furniture that flew away. I can't say enough good about NCL and NCL's crew. They were "on top" of everything. They did everything within their power to make certain passengers were safe, or to help those who were scared or injured. Not sure I can top the review so far. The weather stayed cold. Even when we hit Port Canaveral, it was chilly. I had been to Canaveral many times before. So, I decided to stay on the ship. Got a massage (again, having to use up my OBC). Yes, it was overpriced. But, it's about the same price you'd pay at any resort. And, it was a good massage. Ate at the Garden Cafe for lunch....no crowd. The produce was fresh and tasty. Plus, I had a burger which was very good, regardless of having it in the Buffett. It was just plain tasty. We missed Grand Stirrup Cay, because it was still windy and we couldn't tender ashore. Another good day just hanging out on the ship. But, it was finally warm enough to spend Tim in the VIBE (remember that ticket?). Wasn't a lot of people there. And, I was there during what should have been a peak time. I'm thinking NCL has over thought what passes to the VIBE were worth. To me, it's worth the original $99, not a penny more. So, won't be doing that again. I found Spice H20 as an "adults" area, to be a lot more fun, particularly with the water grotto and the wealth of loungers, and its own bar. Last stop was Nassau. Had a $50 voucher from NCL for an excursion. Hadn't taken one yet. So, I took a bus tour (that cost $49.95) of Nassau. I've been there before. So, it's typical. You have your downtown area where you find the typical shops....Diamonds International, Ron Jon, etc. The tour bus took us to a rum factory (not a big rum drinker, but enjoyed the tour) and Atlantis (pretty posh on the inside but you're restricted where you can go). That's it for the excursions. Not much to tell, mostly because of the weather. Not NCL's fault, though. ENTERTAINMENT......I'll say this up front. I've never seen a show on ANY NCL cruise that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Highlight of this one was Choir of Man. I went the last night of the cruise. No reservations. Walked right in and sat down about 12 rows back, a shade left of center....great seats, and every seat was filled within 10 minutes of me sitting down. I got there 15 minutes before the show. I can't say enough good about it. IT WAS OUTSTANDING. Hard to describe except to say it's based on a group of men in an English Pub who prefer singing and dancing rather than talking about sports. And, boy could they sing and dance. BTW, there was no charge for this show. Every night I ended up at HEADLINERS, usually late (as in after 11:00 p.m.) seeing either the comedian (good) or the dueling piano playing (great fun). When the weather warmed up, I spent a lot of time on the WaterFront, having cocktails while reading a book. Loved doing that, while just watching the water go by. Every once in a while someone I had met earlier would join me and we'd just have a great time chatting. THE PASSENGERS....I made some great new friends on this cruise. I actually met a fine lady, who we're kind of sort of "seeing each other". A little tough because of distance. But, we aren't expecting anything, so we aren't disappointed. Everyone else was wonderful. NCL passengers just have the same "vibe" I do. Ages ranged from 20s to probably 80s, and everything in between (where I fall). It seems like every cruise, there is someone or a couple of someones who are ill-tempered. Not this cruise. DINING....in addition to the drinks perk, I had the specialty dining perk (3 dinners for the perk, 2 dinners from NCL for being Platinum Latitudes, and one from AMEX for using my card to book the cruise). From my first meal at O'Sheehans (casual pub food) to my last meal at Food Republic, I only had one meal I could complain about. That was a specialty dinner at Le Bistro. I had scallops which were overcooked and way too salty. In fairness, they offered me another dinner as compensation, but I already had all the Specialty Dinners I could use. The MDR (Savor) and Garden Cafe were never less than "good". I also ate at Cagney's (2x) for a filet and prime rib. Both were wonderful. LaCucina did good Italian (Get the Osso Bucco.....it is divine). Teppanyaki (very similar to an Hibachi Grill restaurant where the chef cooks your food in front of you) was great. Ordered scallops again, and they were world's better than those I had at Le Bistro. Even breakfast every a.m. in the Garden Cafe was good. I only had fruit and yoghurt, but it was still very fresh and good. SERVICE....from the wait staff, to my room steward, to every bartender and restaurant server I encountered, everyone greeted me with a smile....many by addressing me by my name. Even customer service personnel (which are probably the most harassed staff on any ship) were kind and helpful. I think NCL must have upgraded their internet. It was quite fast (for a cruise ship) for me. I was getting 20+mbps both up and down loads...which is quite good. No complaints there. I smelled smoke in the casino the first night (the night of the storm). After that, it was a faint smell, but not overwhelming. Even the smoking lounge (cigar lounge?) kept the smoke well contained from getting out into the surrounding areas. All-in-all, a great cruise, even with the storm. I spent more time on the ship with this cruise than any other cruise I've ever taken. I got a chance to see the crew more, and interface with them more. They try so hard to make sure I was happy. That's what really made this cruise. I'll sail Escape, again! Read Less

We had all great experiences on the Bliss ! A hugh thankyou to our cabin guy Ramundo Awsome!!!! The food and entertainment was great ! Lots of fun in the atrium! Great shows ! The ship was immaculate! Excursions were a little too short . It would have been nice if the atrium shows could have been shown on the big screen on deck as atrium got crowded. The pool deck screen was underutilized. More stuff could have been shown on it instead of screensaver type stuff. I would definitely take this cruise again staff were very nice . They were all super friendly and went out of their way to take care of us. I think they may want to look into the slide that hangs over the pool side . I got stuck in it and had to climb out the trap door on the side.! Apparently this happens frequently , I was told I wasn’t big enough . I am 5ft 3 and average weight . Read Less

I been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean but Norwegian was by far the very best cruise I been on yet! This is the first cruise that I have had the best food and great service!! As being a picky eater, Norwegian was able to make my eating very easy. I did not require anything specific but all the food choices from the buffet, complimentary dining, to specialty dining was very easy to choose from. I was able to enjoy everything I ate without struggles. On previous cruises, eating was a bit of a struggle and I was really worried I was going to have the same issue on Norwegian. I am so glad I had no issues. People I know always told me that Norwegian has the best food and there is so much to choose from. They were right!! The cabin was small for 4 people but that was expected as they are meant for 2 people. The guy who fixed the room was very nice, friendly, and did a great job making up the room as it was a mess. I was really surprised that he always made the room look brand new, as it was being used by 4 of us. On day 4 I was really cold, called room service, and asked for a extra blanket. Within 5 minutes there was a knock on my door and there was the blanket. I could not believe how fast the blanket came! I was beyond thankful!!! All the shows were great. Saw Havana, The Beatles and the comedy show. I really wanted to see Jersey Boys but the night we were suppose to see them, all 4 of us had gotten very tired and fell asleep early. We are really hoping they will be around once we book our next cruise. All shore excursions were great!! My favorite was the shopping, tour, and beach time at St. Thomas. We were able to go to Magen's beach!! That was the best beach I ever experienced!! My husband and the other couple were just as happy as I was with that beach! The ship was absolutely beautiful!! Loved the go-karts. I have not done go-karts in over 20 years.........until I got on your ship! I thought it was funny and great at the same time that I did the go-karts on your ship! That was a great time! I love how the halls have the fish which makes it easy to know which way we were going. I already told my husband that I want to cruise only with Norwegian from now on! We are hoping to go back on Norwegian in 2021 on the Encore!! Just need to save up and get a great deal as we live on a budget. I want to thank Norwegian for the best cruise we ever been on!! I wish I would of started with Norwegian a long time ago!! Read Less

Everything was very good. This was our first cruise with Norwegian and will do it again. The cabin Steward Ryan was very good. The entertainment was great. This was the best buffet we have had on any of our cruises. The evening meals in the dinning rooms were not that great. The room was a little dark. The steak we ordered was tough. Was disappointed with Tortola but the other excursions were very good. The unlimited drink special was a great deal. The embarkation was good but the disembarkation had some confusion with instructions given by the crew members. Will sail again with Norwegian. The shows in the Atrium were very good for the most part. The I Havana and Jersey Boys were very good. The transfers to and from the airport went very smooth. This was our first cruise with Norwegian and will definitely cruise again with them. Can’t wait to go again. Read Less

Only thing for me was that the music was really loud around the pool, I wanted to hang around the pool more but music was supper loud. I liked the music just now that loud. It was so loud couldn't really even talk. Everything else was great! Read some reviews that the Norweigan Sky was out dated, but we didn't find it like that, I think it had just been redone, everything seemed new and nice. We ate at 2 of the special restaurants, Cagneys, and the Bistro, they were both great, I liked the Bistro the best. The rest of the food was great, sometime found it very jammed up at the buffet, that area was a bit small flow seemed very crowed at times, but food was good. I guess you could say the room was small but we have never cruised before so didn't know what to expect. Loved the balcony, probably wouldn't cruise without a balcony, it was great! We had a couple rainy days but there was still so much to do it didn't matter. This was my families first vacation and cruise it was perfect for us. We surprised our kids on Christmas with this trip. We had a great vacation onboard the Bliss. Food was great and entertainment was varied and excellent. Buffet-Lots to chose from. Standouts were the Mongolian Beef, vetable stir fry, and beef with broccoli. Room service- Great turkey sub, my husband liked the supreme pizza. We ordered often. The Local- Great that there is something 24/7. Good pub food, especially the Asian wings. Q- was ok, other restaurants were better. Cagneys-Food was excellent, service was slow. Le Bistro- wonderful meal. I am not really a desert eater, but they were the bomb. Teppaanyaki-Very good. We had great tablemates and a funny chef. Prohibition show- It was ok, but I don’t feel like it worth $36 each. Adults only for sure. Jersey Boys- We really enjoyed this show. It was face paced and the cast was very talented. Siglo band was excellent as was Tatianna. We took the aft elevators whenever possible. We never had to wait for an elevator. We had a great time and would not hesitate to sail her again. Read Less

Most nights we ate in Savor, the same menu as the MDR and we found a very good wait team, ask for Bernadette and Guisti! The Mixx bar right outside of Savor was great, Allen was our favorite bartender. Sugarcanes outside bar is very nice when the ship is moving. St Thomas and Tortola are both very beautiful. Comedian was good, the singer/comedian was funny. One hint though make your show reservations as soon as you get on the ship. They have an enclosed smoking area in the casino so even though there is a still a smoky smell at least you don't have to be encased in a cloud of smoke. The Bliss was built for Alaska so there are alot of great views all over the ship. Read Less

The Breakaway was amazing but with two caveats. The entertainment was beyond fantastic. Rock of Ages Musical was fantastic and Tenors of Rock was like going to a rock concert. Really enjoyed. The only minus you have to make reservations for everything. It's easy to do on the touch screens but remind your customers to do it asap when getting on ship. The main pool is a bit small for this size ship so if you are a pool person there were well over 100 people in the pool and appeared mobbed. There is only 1 pool and the second pool is a childs pool. If your not a pool person though doesn't matter. The dining was also beyond fabulous. The Manhatton Room dining room was excellent they have bands or shows and a dance floor during dinner was really nice and service was excellent. They also didn't allow shorts or caps in this dining room (they did in the rest) so it was rather high class something I appreciated in their normal freestyle environment. I don't know how Norwegian does this but NEVER had a problem finding a table in the buffet they really handle the crowd well this is a constant irritation on other cruise lines. Take a few minutes to review the map of ship. wasn't till 5th day we discovered an outdoor theater on the top deck that showed movies was almost like a drive in movie without the car very fun. Would highly highly recommend! Read Less

We chose this cruise because it fit our vacation schedule. It was out first ever cruise and it was a wonderful experience! Our balcony rooms were lovely and spacious. The food and drinks (drink package) were outstanding and so was the entertainment and service. We LOVED the Manhattan, O'Sheehan's, Le Bistro, Bayamo, and Teppanyaki. The shows were outstanding! We saw Choir of Men, Company of Men, After Midnight, Howl at the Moon and the comedy magician Greg Gleason. We enjoyed the music of the various bands and solo performers. We went standby for a couple of shows which was no problem to get in. The buffet was also excellent. The ship was so clean and hand washing at all eateries was required. We took a behind the scenes tour which included the kitchen and it was remarkably clean. We did the scuba excursion in Nassau and had a wonderful time. The ropes course, game area, basketball court and tube slides were all enjoyed. The staff was friendly and attentive and clearly very-trained. If we could change one thing, the pool was just a little small for the size of the ship. There was a kiddie pool and adult pool, leaving no good in-between for young teenagers. That being said: it was the most fun we remember having together in a long time and look forward to our next Norwegian cruise! Read Less

The location was the main reason. The trip was excellent, smooth sailing, very good shore excursions although some a little pricey. Food good in Steak restaurant, Ambiance could be much better in Italian Restaurant. O'Sheean's pub food pretty good but seemed pre-made in some cases. Entertainment was the best we have had on any of our cruises, including the guest performers and the cruise group and band. complimentary restaurants food, staff and setting were great. The Panama Canal day was very memorable and a must for everyone. It was interesting to learn of the real environmental preservation efforts of most of the central America countries. The people we met from these countries were genuinely caring of visitors. Enjoyed the trip to the artist town in Guatemala. The travel was quite lengthy but through different landscapes and economic areas. Suggest Norwegian continues to offer this trip. We will continue to cruise but maybe take a little break after May as we will have taken three cruises in 10 months. Will have Norwegian as first cruise company choice in the future. Read Less

After hearing so many stories both good and bad about cruising, I'd have to say that cruising is a great way to travel. The staff of the Norwegian Spirit made everything from pre-cruise preparation to disembarkation, an absolutely breeze. Everyone (and I mean everyone!) was super helpful and personable. Whatever Norwegian is doing to create such a great team , they are doing it right and it shows in the level of service given to each person on-board. The ship was super clean and, there was an emphasis on hygiene, which was important given the number of people in such close quarters. You were never far from music, entertainment or a pocket of peace and relaxation. The port calls and ship excursions were well organized. I booked excursions through the ship's tour service and they were well organized and in my opinion, worth the money. All the tour companies were professional, the buses were comfortable and the tours were offered in various languages to accommodate all nationalities. Needless to say, I enjoyed my first cruise. Well done Norwegian! Read Less

We are cruising for several years now with Norwegian and we are pleased with their service and free style cruise is what we liked most. My wife have never been to Australia, Indonesia and Singapore so I decided to take her to that cruise. We had a balcony a couple besides our stateroom is my wife's high school classmate from 1971 and 6 other new guest with NCL and first time cruisers. We had a great time and and had a lot of specialty dinners. Our group had received a lot of surprises from the Senior Officers that we have met on previous cruises with Norwegian and made our cruise more enjoyable not only for us previous cruisers but for our 6 other friends that we brought with us. They even sent fresh tropical fruits from Indonesia was sent to all our cabins. Shore excursions was great that we all got into the same bus every time we book. Read Less

My first cruise was the Eastern Caribbean in 1989 on Carnival Cruise Line Jubilee. This makes my 10th Year’s Anniversary of cruising. I wanted to go back to my first cruise to celebrate my anniversary. I enjoy cruising with NORWEGIAN Cruise line, i got a special invation to the Officers Wine and Dine Dinner.and a invation to a special Anniversary Social Event. I wanted to go on their new ship the Bliss .That is a beautiful ship, the employees, food, entertainment and service was excellent. When I call the service desk to ask for something it was done or deliver right away. What I like about that ship to is they have a Starbucks Coffee and lots of hot tubs on the ship. The Casino had all the up-to-date Slot Machines, race car track, bowling lane, Laser tag. What I didn’t like was you had to put your room key down into a slot on the wall behind you entire door in order for the lights and Electric plugs to work in your room. Overall I rate my Cruise as A A A A A. I would like to go on this ship again. Read Less

My friend chose this ship because she already experienced it. I enjoyed the room we had with a balcony. We were in room number 11580. You couldn't here the next person in their room, unless we were on the balcony. Only thing I dislike, poor choose in seafood. There was no snow crab legs. In the "Pacific Cafe" the shrimp burger was not tasty. I ate it any way. I appreciated Will, the Criuse Manager, for being my interepter to help me in finding where I could get seafood on the ship. I celebrated my 61st birthday with my two friends. It was the best decision we came up with this year. Another thing on this ship, the entertainment of the couples game show was HILARIOUS! I enjoyed watching this show. The creator of this game show needed to be promoted and given a bonus. Again, I truely enjoyed it! Read Less

It was our 23 year anniversary so we wanted to be special and Rhe Norwegian Jade along with their team staff exceeded our expectations. Our cabin was on the 4th floor and it was easy access to elevator and the closes to desembark from ship to the islands. Our room was very nicely cleaned by the best house keeper Glenn GonZaga who took the time to make special arrangements with the towels and place them as animals figures on our bed every night. Exceptional food in all restaurants and buffet. The entertainment was Our favorite part every Night we really enjoyed all the shows and the comedian too. But the best part was the Director of our Ship Jackie he was fun, hilarious, and very good customer service oriented. There is nothing we changed about our experience, everyone was super Friendly and fun and we loved everything and everyone. Thanks! Read Less

First time on Norwegian was very impressed with the ship easy emarkment and departure at the port. Shuttle from airport was a little disorganized but a lot better when traveling from the port to the airport impressed with how many people there were that they had to organize and we all made it to destination in a timely fashion. Food was amazing and large variety to choose from and restaurants were easy to get into love the open dinning not having to dress up is a plus. Ship was big and was nice to explore found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of activities to do on sea days. Pool area could have been a little bigger but that’s a minor detail. Will definitely be cruising with Norwegian again and already looking into our next cruise and taking our girls and there friends with them. Can’t wait to cruise with Norwegian again. Read Less

This was our first cruise on the Norwegian Getaway. We had sailed on the Escape before. The Getaway is so much like the Escape. My husband prefers the smaller ships because of fewer people and no need for reservations for entertainment or dining, but I like both sizes. This cruise we had a mini-suite which we loved. Our steward was exceptional. Very friendly. But of course, all the crew members are so friendly and go out of their way to make your visit wonderful. For me, the cruise and not the ports so much are the most important part of the vacation. You are waited on and pampered, no cooking or cleaning, everything is done for you, you just have fun and relax. Our ports were a lot of fun too. We loved Roatan the most. We went snorkeling from Tabyana Beach. Terrific time. Costa Maya, we visited a Mayan Ruins, Mayan Chocolate Factory. So much fun at every port. My ONLY complaint has nothing to do with the cruise line or ports, but with other passengers that don't comply with the rules of smoking. I would be trying to relax on my larger deck when another passenger would be smoking on theirs and all the smoke smell would come my way. I really hate that smell and I think it is inconsiderate of these people to smoke and make others put up with it. I try my best to steer clear of the outside smoking bar or casino area. Other than that, we had a great time. Read Less

Just got back from a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Epic out of Port Canaveral, Florida. Here are my thoughts on the vacation. -UBP. Got the Ultimate Beverage Package for the week. Was totally worth it. Great selection of spirits, beer, and wine. The standard wine was excellent and was my drink of choice during the day. Totally saved us money. It was also nice not worrying about a tab at the end. Plenty of bartenders and really didnt have to wait in line for a drink. Best perk is that drinks are included on the private island. Very nice touch and adds the feeling that you are at an all inclusive resort for the day. Bartenders even remembered my drinks. -Food. Excellent food. My favorite was the steak house, French restaurant, and the Chinese. Chinese is included and not a specialty restaurant, bonus. Buffet has everything and very tasteful. Also, did room service which was great and offered pizza. Yum. Staff was very attentive and kept the food always stocked and very happy to help in anyway. -Entertainment: Broadway quality on the shows, make sure you take advantage and attend. You wont be disappointed. Nightclub Bliss was great for dancing. Also, during the cruise we watched the Super Bowl at H20 on the massive screen. Very cool experience. Plus they had a tailgating buffet of all the football food that you expected. Really a great way to watch the big game. Spa is massive and totally worth the pass price. Great place to relax after a long day on shore. Staff: Best part of the boat. Great staff that are always in a good mode and friendly. The hotel director, Nelson is great guy and very approachable. You see him everywhere around the ship. Our room attendant did a great job and kept our cabin cleaned and stocked all the time. Bottom line, this is one of the best cruises I've been on and I have tried them all. Great cruise of just about anyone. Singles, Couples, Families, etc. Will be back for sure. Read Less

Hi I just got off the Beautiful Norwegian Epic Cruise. I travel all the time and highly recommend this 7 day trip to the Western Caribbean. The staff is amazing and they work so hard to make sure each passenger enjoys their vacation. There are so many things to do on this ship. The rooms are spotless and I loved having a bathroom separated from the shower area because we had two in our room so it made it easy to get ready for dinners and shows. The Food is great with such a big variety of selections. I recommend the specialty restaurants if you want fine dining I was very impressed! The best part of the trip was watching everyone from the staff to each and ever passenger smiling and feeling like a magical vacation! Pj was was favorite bartender he explained PJ stands for Pineapple Juice enough said! I had the pleasure of meeting Nelson the hotel director and his staff the hardest working team with a permanent smile! I have been in the travel profession for 25 years and highly recommend the Epic it was truly one of my best vacation experiences. Read Less

Wanted New Orleans cruise . Wanted to try Norwegian and try a larger ship. We were very happy with all of the above. Larger ship delivered great entertainment as well as diversity of entertainment. We really enjoyed the various dining options and the service was great. Even though the largest ship we ever sailed on , we witnessed very high service level on deck and the movement around the ship was very smooth and relaxing. We really enjoyed the flexible dining times. Temperature control Inthe cabin was excellent. The excursions we took were great and very well organized. It was very nice having access to breakfast on disembarkation. Also first time we self disembarked which was a great choice . Basically walked off the ship with no crowds. Finally casino was nice to have a nonsmoking section. Norwegian won our business. We plan to sail with them this summer to Alaska. Read Less

Cruise recommended by friends, went with friends, (4 couples). Awesome ship, awesome food, had the beverage and dining packages... highly recommended. Great entertainment, bars and lounges everywhere...Super staff and crew. Happy Happy Happy.... Balcony cabin was awesome, roomy enough. Ports and excursions simply grand. Disembarkation was late leaving port, ended up being dark, that was a bit disappointing .Lots of entertainment and activities for everyone. Was an awesome experience. The main theatre was huge, I had to remind myself hourly I was on a cruise floating in the Caribbean..... Staff was always happy and happy to help. More staff and crew than I was expecting. Was a great variety and of entertainment. Lots of venues to see the entertainment., although some were small for seating, had to go early to line up...that was a draw back. The casino was nice, would be nice to have lower limit card tables ie; black jack had a $10 min bet... being a cruise and not a lot of serious gamblers, $3-$5 min bet would have got us in the casino more. First we have to thank ; Nicolas Pena of Cruise Planners International , he booked and set up everything for Ellen and myself . This was our 1st ever cruise vacation It was a Christmas present for my girlfriend . We were extremely surprised of how wonderful of a vacation we encountered , I will definitely book another cruise in the future with NCL , probably with the Getaway . Everything on the Getaway from embarkation to disembarkation was a great experience . This ship is the best , the crew , amenities , food , entertainment , ports of call , service and shows are just a total delight . The Getaway is well maintained and kept totally clean and disinfected on a daily basis . Everyone aboard this ship was very friendly and the entire crew was very tentative to our needs , we did not lack anything , we did not have to lift a finger for anything . This vacation experience has blown our mind away . It was the experience out of this world . Thank you very much for the great time we had . sincerely P.Del Rio Read Less
