We chose this cruise because of the ports. The itinerary was fantastic. We were located on deck 10 aft. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this location. All you hear from 6am til after midnight is chairs sliding a cross the floor. The food was very disappointing compared to other NCL ships we have been on, The specialty restaurants are the best. Checking in an leaving the Ship was the best we’ve seen. Entertainment was ok nothing to write about. Hot tubes were always crowded. Buffet food was the same thing EVERYDAY No seafood night like other NCL lines we’ve been on. Also couldn’t hear the loud speakers from our room. The staff was definitely friendly an helpful. It would have been nice to have longer days at the ports. Leaving one island at 1:30 was pushing it if you had an Excursion. We enjoyed ourselves but would like to let others know what we experienced . Read Less

Wanted to see S America, a Gold Member and travel with 4 other couples 5th cruise! NCL this was the worst cruise, our toilet would not flush on demand, button pushed nothing ... middle of night it flushed reported numerous times! Restroom stall doors held on with electrical wire ties(casino men's room). Mens room at The Windjammer had a hole in the wall covered by cardboard and duct tape. Every other NCL cruise we have been on while in port they cleaned the windows not on the Sun! Water spots on most of our pictures. The windows were either dirty or there were numerous window fogged from loss of vacuum! We made reservations for ten in different resteraunts and many times they sitted us at different tables when there were large settings available and were not used while we were there! Shame on NCL! We are looking to cruise Australia and New Zealand later this year and we( all 5 couples) are not sure we will chose NCL this time! One bright spot was Freddie the Bartender at the Champayne Bar! Star Trek Cruise III I've been on Noreweign Cruises before and I was very happy camper only to be very disappointed and very upset being on the Jade Noreweign.. I don't know where the so called "millions of dollars spent on upgrade renovations" were done on this ship because it looked old and not upgraded! We were on a specialty cruise for the Star Trek III for some mad fun.. We had a Balcony stateroom with NO A/C. OMG it felt like an oven.. I called several times but no avail .. The engineer tech claimed he reset the the A/C. by the fourth call and me screaming that my husband spent his hard earned money of 6 thousand dollars for my comfort on this suite and The fact I am disable and in this heat was unacceptable.. Eventually we got a new suite that A/C was OK. When settled into our new suite. On our late return back to the suite the mattress feltvlike a box spring!! It was hard and uncomfortable.. I felt springs and dips on the bed making it very uncomfortable for me. 10 months ago I had a 12 hour back surgery my entire back has been replaced with Titanium of 2 rods and 18 screws. So a comfortable bed was a must for me.. When my husband booked the reservations he advised them of my situation and they stated that I would be taken care of. Nothing was done.. Thank God for our room porter, Ian that cleans and maintains our room. He immediately got me a thick foam mattress and placed it on top of the springy mattress.. He also got me lots of down pillows. He literally save me cuz my first night was miserable.. By the 4th day of a 6th day cruise this Room's A/C was shot. I was literally done.. I was mostly out of the room and left the sliding glass doors open to cool our room up.. On the last night, we received a message from Guest Services asking if our room was comfortable.. I just never responded because I didn't wabt to show my true discontent with my experience with Noreweign.. The Noreweign staff were very nice.. The free food was not so good.. thank God my hubby got a Dinner package and their food were amazing.. The Star Trek experience was amazing.. Thank God next year Star Trek IV cruise is with Royal Carribean.. I will never take another NCL cruise.. So disappointed when my previous experiences were awesome.. Read Less

This was a 9 day cruise, there was no good entertainment, which made the trip extremely boring, the music on the pool wouldn't start till 11am and it was mostly instrumental no good music at all, the bartenders were very rude, there was 1 bartender name Edward he was the only friendly one in the entire ship, we had the beverage package but they had a restriction on many drinks, the restaurant services were so slow we waited on appetizer for almost an hour, they really only include 3 restaurants all the other ones you have to pay extra and the 3 restaurants included serve the same food every night. I have used Norwegian a few times this is my 5th and I am so disappointed I wouldn't use them again is time to start looking at other cruise lines. The only good about this cruise was awesome weather and they were very clean as far as the room service and now they do time how long your towel is left alone on a chair which is good so it wasn't hard to find a spot most of the time. Let me start by saying I love to travel, especially to Caribbean islands. I particularly love vacations filled with nature, adventure and exploring new places. I've traveled quite a bit over the years, so I know that a big part of traveling is keeping things in stride and going with the flow. With this cruise vacation, however, my patience was tested even before getting on the ship. First the long line to drop off luggage, then the REALLY long line to go through security, then the line to check in, and finish that off with a line to get your picture taken and pretend you're having fun while still bundled in winter coats. Once on the boat my main complaints how smokey it is. The design of the ship is just terrible. They put the casino (where they allow smoking) in an open area around a 3-level atrium. And on these 3 levels are most things you'd want to enjoy on the ship--restaurants, comedy club, lounges, shopping, theatre, etc. The smoke is not contained at all, but wafts throughout these 3 floors. Complaint #2: The Garden Cafe. The very first morning of our cruise we went down to breakfast at 10:15 am (an unusually busy time, maybe?) and I just wanted to cry. The place was packed. The three of us waited a long time to get our food, but then walked around and around the place and could not find a place to sit. I was prepared to eat standing up, but then couldn't find any utensils to eat with (I later learned they're kept on the tables). People without any food were saving tables all over--a problem we also experienced with pool chairs, seating in the lounges, the theatre, you name it. This was one crowded ship. Another thing...I was thinking such a big cruise ship would have plenty of variety and I would be able to find enough things to eat. I normally eat a diet of mainly vegetables with a little meat. At breakfast there was not a vegetable to be found, unless you count the tablespoon of spinach in my omelet. It was pretty much a buffet of meat and sugar. On the positive side, the entertainment was really nice. "After Midnight" was absolutely awesome! Wow, what talent. I left wanting to see what else those performers might be able to do. "The Brat Pack" was OK. The staff talent show at the end was cute. The comedians were on board were great--Spencer James and Flip Shultz, as was Ben Nemzer, the magician/comedian. The Adele tribute artist (Chelsea something) was great. One suggestion for Norwegian: quit shining those strobe lights into the eyes of audience members! It happened at every show we saw in the theater. The overall vibe of the ship just wasn't for me. Maybe it was because this cruise spanned over New Year's, but there were so many drunk people everywhere. Surprising, since it seems it would be awfully expensive to get drunk on that ship! Also, I felt nickel-and-dimed. Extra $ for internet service, extra to use a Norwegian app that lets you text others on the ship while out at sea, extra for some of the entertainment and restaurants, $6 for a bottle of water from the bar, and so on. We have cruised with Royal Caribbean and Disney before and we had very good time. This X'mas we choose NCL cruise and it was the worst experience I have so far. This ship is pretty old. Many dinning options are extra cost. Food was no good and service was so bad. Based on the daily information showed O'Sheehans lunch open @11:30 my family went and the lady told us they need to clean up and won't open until @12:30 with rude attitude. After more than one hour waiting we finally got seats and the service was very slow. Entertainment was very poor. All entertainment activities closed at 10pm. They even lock-downed shuffleboard and ping pong table. They didn't offer much things to do on the cruise. There was some good thought. House keeping was good. They clean our cabin several times per day and always keep it clean. The two stars are for house keeping. Read Less

This cruise was a gift and I was grateful for the opportunity, but let me be frank with you in the following description. Little did we know the disappointment we’d meet at the very entrance with their prolonged entry wait. Services bragged about the boat docking early at 7am and said we should be boarding soon, that was around 3pm. We didn’t board till almost 7pm. There are numerous inconsistencies with information. It was difficult to be positive given the back to back frustrations. They did do their part to serve alcohol endlessly, which is honestly the only perk to riding this cruise line. The food was comparable to school rated lunches. There was hardly any quality. The dining services really tried to make up for what was lacking on the ship. They were great and did their best. The entertainment shows were subpar, which I guess good be ameliorated by alcohol consumption. I was tired of being asked condescendingly if I was of age to drinks, easy fix: mark it on the embarkation card that obviously took so long to make. Might as well put all the necessary information on there. The daily itinerary needs to be revamped as there was so much clutter and the most important information wasn’t highlighted nor clear. There were several areas with severely musty smells and the crew struggled to relieve areas of the stench. The towels and bed sheets were stained with questionable substances and made its cleanliness questionable. The worst part of it all was my inability to rest because of their BED BUG INFESTION on level 8 (and possibly beyond). 3 sets of cabins from our group were later confirmed to have traces of bed bugs. That NEEDS to be a priority to resolve. A lot of passerby crew members were smartasses and that was an unnecessary amount of sass I witnessed repeatedly directed at many people on the ship. The crew really tried to make a pleasant vacation, but there were too many areas of disenchantment that they couldn’t make up for it. Hence the draw to ride the cruise because of INCLUDED alcohol. It’s not freee because you pay the price with all of these discomforts. Their 2013 remodeling should’ve been more drastic because it didn’t do it much justice in this modern day era of cruising. Also with their obsession with spraying alcohol or hand sanitizer did not cover up the fact that several of the soap dispensers weren’t working in the public restrooms. To conclude I would not recommend this cruise for families especially with minors seeing all the inappropriate behavior of everyone taking advantage of the unlimited drinks which were poorly handled, given that half the time crew asked for the room key to swipe and the other half they gave up because it was too much work on top of the demand. They looked pissed to be there and Not friendly or helpful EXCEPT in the Specialty Restaurants, where you PAY! 5.) Wait times at dinner were ridiculous. 6.) All of the complimentary restaurants had the SAME MENU...no variety! And, they didn’t stay open very long. 7.) Entertainment was awful! As we were walking towards the atrium to hear the entertainment I thhought it was karaoke it was so bad. 8.) One port we only had 5.5 hours! I think they should give you atleast 8 hours per port. Went on NCL Bliss for the excitement of a better ship with go-karts vs the NCL Epic and Escape. The Jersey Boys production was outstanding. The Havana show was good but not my type of show that I would want to pay for. The Observation Lounge/deck15 was the best part of the ship. What I was disappointed in were all the chairs and lounges in the Observation Lounge and Atrium. They were all very uncomfortable. People were laying on the fabric chaise lounges in the Observation Deck without towels underneath them. Questioned the sanitary conditions of those Observation Deck lounge chair fabrics after their use. The dining ( complimentary areas) was just ship food (some good some bad). Found the servers very good in the Manhattan Room. Had dinner one evening in Savour Restaurant and found the service to be poor. Did not eat in any specialty restaurants. The Meet and Greet with the ship personnel was excellent. Beds in stateroom felt uncomfortable as compared to the NCL Epic and NCL Escape. As to the cabin, never met the room Steward but the cabin got cleaned twice daily. The ports were nothing special, we primarily were on the NCL Bliss for the newness of the ship. There was an abundance of children on board and I would attribute that to free perk of 3rd and 4th passenger goes free. Although, we love children, we found many of them running out of control throughout the ship. Even saw them sliding down the rails on the stairways just outside the Manhattan Room. Very unappealing. We are Gold Latitude Members and usually purchase future cruise certificates but as a result of cruising on the NCL Bliss, we have decided to no longer sail with NCL. Read Less

We did not see Grand Cayment we were told because rough waters but 2 other ships tendered there passengers onto the island. If you want to see poverty and rude people get off in Honduras terrible Port. If you like Asian food this is the ship. For 10 days that was the main dish at the buffa this buffa makes Golden Corral look like a 5 star. Our house keeper was great Dorthy was the best on the whole ship. Freestyle cruising is a joke on this ship to many rules and they tell you so. The food in all the free dining is really poor the oth.er half of dining was not cheap. We were looking forward to another cruise with NCL, since our experience on the Pearl was good. This was awful! *The embarkation was a fiasco, with the problem being more Port Canaveral's. It was a cold morning, and they had to stop allowing people up the escalator to the indoor waiting area. Fights were taking place, and security had to be called. Most were cold, hungry, tired and confused, since there was no communication from anyone. This became a constant theme throughout the cruise! But at no time did anyone from NCL apologize for it and take some responsibility. When you were finally on board it was as if nothing had happened. *Pools are a real joke!!! 3 of them, with one being in the quiet area. Very small, more of a stand-up pool. If any more than 4 people were in it, it became overcrowded. The main pool area was the only pool space with shade, but the stupid music was so loud you couldn't talk to each other. Ridiculous! Even after request to turn the music down, nothing! *Waiting for an elevator became a game. No matter which was it goes, climb on because you may never see another one! Too many scooters!!!!!! * To see any show, you had to wait in line for an hour, then seats were gone quickly. I have never had that experience on any other cruise. Venues are way too small for that size of a ship with that many passengers. *Front desk was somewhat rude. I asked a young lady where the library was (mapped showed it very close to their desk). The girl grabbed my map and sent me to the back of the ship. I came back and told her it should be near where we were. She simply repeated her orders. It was across the hall and behind a door! *Layout of this ship is terrible. Hard to maneuver around anywhere comfortably. *Talent on board, except for a few, was pretty bad. Howl at the Moon singers were not singers! * Onboard activities: Napkin folding! Just Dance! *Movies selected were unbelievable! Overboard, Adrift and Showdogs?! Really! Who picked this garbage? (Andre'?) One good day they showed "It's A Wonderful Life" and it was standing room only! *It was Christmas. Why not organize an evening of caroling, or show more holiday related movies? Other than decorations, it was never mentioned or celebrated. Very disappointing. *That leaves us with debarkation. We were herded onto the 6th floor, with no announcement from anyone, just rumors, to try and organize a line, which went from the front to the back of the ship. There was 1 person from staff I saw and she was yelling at someone who was trying to take the escalator to 5! Apparently, some big wigs from corporate were suppose to be there for our leaving, but never saw a single person!!!! No, wait...there were two lovely ladies waving goodbye and thanking us...Washy Washy Girls!!!! That was it. No thanks for spending your time, your money and your sanity with us. They could have cared less. We will never cruise NCL again! Read Less

We have been on multiple cruise lines and wanted to try Norwegian. The room was a balcony stateroom that was small for my 6' 7" frame. The bed was too short for me to lay on. The staff had to pull the top mattress out and stuff pillows and covers in the space for my head to rest on. This made crossing the cabin difficult. The separate toilet and shower were difficult to use and I injured myself using the shower. The food quality was not as good as other cruise lines. The food choices in the buffet was limited. The wait staff in the dinning rooms were inattentive but completed their tasks. The loud speaker announcements were difficult to understand because the speaker spoke the words quickly. We had to wait longer than expected before embarkation even started. We tried to carry our luggage off the ship to save time and were held up by the disembarkation logistics. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it departed from Port Canaveral, a smaller port than Miami, but as we have now found out one that is not capable of handling large crowds. We waited outside for 2-3 hours in bad windy weather, with verbal and physical fights to the point the sheriff's officer had to be called. The ship seemed unprepared for its guests, the casino had most its machines down the first two days, there was no band on board, the singer in the theatre had to sing to tapes, and the trio's on board were spread thin. The food was sub-par with very little variety, the same desserts over and over. Once the buffet snack in the casino was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!! REALLY!!??? The ship in general lacked a happy vibe which I guess is the fault of the cruise director. The cruise ended the way is started, long lines to get on and long lines to get off!! Read Less

We looked forward to this cruise for over a year. Last time we cruised with NCL meals were awesome, entertainment top notch, service was excellent and staff very friendly. We purchased extras on this cruise, unlimited beverage package, tour package and paid gratuities. During this cruise it was very hard to have someone to take a drink order while around the pool, you had to go to bar and order your own drinks. Highlight of the cruise was our waitress in the Gatsby Lounge she was awesome and spectacular, along with our speciality restaurant Cagneys. The Garden grill had same boring meals breakfast, lunch and dinner. Complimentary Dining Versailles and Aqua hands same meals each night. If Lobster is on your plan or a nice steak sorry your out of luck. Size of appetizers are so small, I ordered Rack of lamb and was looking forward to it and was completely taken back when plate came to me with some kind of shaved meat. Every meal I ordered was the same except for when I order the Fish and Chips from O'Sheeans it was LongJohn Silver quality. The tour in Cano San Lucas highlight of tours. Not sure I will cruise with NCL again unless changes are made. Disappointed. Read Less

When I first booked this cruise I was super pumped because a couple people I know have recommended Norwegian. Getting to the port and on the boat was a breeze and didn't have to wait long at all. When we got on the boat we were all directed to one of the buffet which was total chaos because there was so many people waiting in line, it was hot and very uncomfortable. Once everyone we couldn't even change in a different outfit because it took them all day to get our bags to our room so we weren't able to lay out or get in the pool. So we waled around the ship to find something to do and there was nothing. Everything opened up @ 5, so after finding out that everything didn't open up till 5 we went back to our room to check it out, just to be even more disappointed. We chose a cabin w/ out a window which was fine I wasn't expecting a big fancy room, but the room was very outdated and dirty, the light switches were ungodly disgusting I cleaned them myself because I couldn't believe how filthy they were, our bathroom door was falling apart and had rust on the bottom of the door. The bed was hard as a rock by the end of our cruise my back was screaming. Overall the cabin had good storage & Safe. Also our person who cleaned our room was fantastic and sweet. We had ate at the Buffet, both of the Main Dinings, Cafe, Steak House and Sushi Bar. I think we ate at the Buffet once the first day were they directed us, they did NOT have a good selection of food at all, I was not impressed. We ate at the Cafe for breakfast and lunch because half the food did not look appetizing in the buffet. We ate at the Main Dinings for dinner and they had good selection of food and was very yummy service was great in one area, the other dining room "Crossings" had terrible service I felt like I was waiting for my food forever, and he couldn't understand what I was saying so he kept forgetting items. After the second day of eating at the Main Dining rooms we decided to try the Steak House. Very Very good and very good service. We also tired the Sushi Bar, also very very good and also very good service! What really got to me was the entertainment on the boat, it was terrible. We didn't get off the boat for two of the locations because the weather for one wasn't the greatest and we've been to Nassau before. So we expected some activity on the boat for people who didn't get off. No there was absolutely nothing they did not accommodate to anyone who didn't get off the boat and like I said before nothing opened up till 5 like the casino or the shop. Couldn't really lay out in crappy weather. At night they would have shows but they were so crowded because they only had one giant area so half the people were standing so it wasn't enjoyable. But I've come to conclusion on this boat they have a open bar so why provide good food & good entertainment when you have a bunch of drunks on the boat? NOT IMPRESSED Read Less

We sailed on the jewel 3 years ago and it was good. The Breakaway was a lot newer and bigger, the food wasn't good at all I didn't think anybody could mess up chicken but they can. The dinning room on all cruise lines have the New York Strip Steak I ordered med rare ( all others have ben 1 1/4" thick juicy and tender) It came out a little pink in the middle, like I ordered, and 1/2" thick and very dry, tough and full of gristle, I couldn't eat it. My wife had ordered a mushroom & chicken soup that smelled and tasted spoiled she left it and we went to the buffet, It didn't have spoiled food but the worst buffet we have ever been to. Anything good and some of it was if you went back for more they were usually out of that. One night they had fish & chips and we don't waste food so we got a very small portion and if we found anything good went back and got more the fish & chips was good, like Long John Silvers, I went back after more and they were out. The workers would run into you if you didn't dodge them 2 times I got run into by a worker and made me spill my drink. We got to where when in port we ate the local food and it was always good. The theater was smaller than any ship we have ever been on and I heard of several people being turned away because they didn't have reservations and the theater was full. The comedy club just had wooden chairs with no cushion and small. Over all the ship is just designed to haul a lot of people about 4000 and less entertainment and smaller gathering areas than any of the 6 or 7 cruise ships we have been on. We will not again cruise on a Norwegian Ship. A lot other people we met had the same problems and they said no more Norwegian for them too. This is just a few of the things we didn't like many other small things not worth mentioning. Read Less

This was our fourth cruise on NCL and might be our last. The only warm food we had was in the specialty restaurants. We had drink service twice on the sun deck. The rest of the time we got our own because they took so long and were few and far between.Beware of the “free” meals and drinks. We felt nickel and dimed. The ship felt compartmentalized and was difficult to to get from forward to aft. The special shows were okay, but you had to buy lunch or dinner. Our last impression was our room service breakfast order that we received without the two omelettes. Some of the staff just didn’t seem genuinely friendly, except for our room steward and a couple waitstaff. The food at Savor and Taste was lukewarm. The crab legs at Ocean Blue were overcooked and cold. The rolls were excellent and warm. The lobster was translucent. There were few tables and chairs in the sundeck and pool area. All in all, we had a good time but we’re disappointed in the Getaway. Compared to the Epic and Dawn, it felt like NCL was trying to put as many people as possible in the same space to share the amenities, making this a so so trip. Read Less

I traveled on the 11.17.18 sailing of the NLC Breakaway and was an extremely disappointing experience. The boat felt extremely crowded and oversold. My wife and I were on our first experience with NCL and can not imagine returning based on this experience. We had a Spa Balcony room with the drink and specialty dinning packages. We were unable to prebook our specialty dinning options and once on board everyone was sold out for the duration of the sailing. When contacted Guest Services, we were informed we could "use our options at lunchtime for Margaritaville." The wait times at the bars on board the ship were often times over twenty minuets to get a simple beer due to the lack of staffing so it felt. The overall service levels in all aspects of the ship were below expectations. We did have an attentive cabin steward but was the extent of the positive hospitality we saw on the ship. On return, i contacted customer service, waited over thirty minuets on the phone, and was unable to get any actual help other than they will have to contact the ship and call me back. This was my second cruise experience. My review of this ship will be in comparison with our prior cruise with Royal Caribbean. First, the ship was overrun with children. Children at bars, shows, pools, just about everywhere. The adult pool was supposed to be kid free until about 5 pm, and the staff did a good job enforcing it. However, some of the hot tubs around the pool were family friendly and kids were in there. There is an additional small pool area in the back that is kids free until 8 pm, but it isn't really a pool, just two hot tubs and some stairs with water showering down. In comparison with Royal Caribbean, the service was terrible. Staff was uninterested, uninformed, at times rude, and just appeared annoyed a good amount of time. BUT what really did not work for me at all is that this cruise line is NOT vegan friendly at all. If you like meat, then you're all set. If you don't, you are mostly stuck eating french fries and the 1-3 Indian dishes they serve (always. the. same). Yes, you'll have it coming outta your ears. And for everything else you, you have to ask and wait. A long time. No margarine, no plant milks, no tofu, nothing. Even simple things like lentil salad had ham in it, guacamole had sour cream in it. And as the cook informed me, vegetable dishes were made with butter unless you special order. You can special pre-order your meal. I did. And I ended up sitting in dining rooms or dinner shows getting served the same Indian dish I had at the garden buffet for lunch. At Royal Caribbean there were always plenty of choices of Vegan dishes (Asian, Mexican, Indian, etc.) and the vegan menu in dining rooms were always varied and presented nicely. Shore excursions where over priced. We found our own when we got to the ports and paid a fraction for the same things than people paid who bookd through NCL The fitness room was tiny and the ceiling was so low you couldn't push weights up over your head unless you sat down. There was an additional fitness room where they had classes. 25$ a class. Our room was very nice, though, and our stateroom attendant was also very nice. In terms of overall friendliness, Royal Caribbean was 100 times better. Read Less

We chose this ship because of the itinerary to Cuba. The departure went smoothly enough but our cabin was in poor condition as well as most if not all the furniture & fixtures. The dining was mediocre at best however they did serve plenty of drinks. Probably hoping nobody noticed how sub-par everything else was. We saw one comedian show which was fair but not all that funny. I can see why this cruise is an all inclusive drinking package cruise, however they really charge you up the Kazoo for that privilege. I will say the service was pretty good overall and the condition of the ship should not reflect on the service. We traveled with a group of 11 friends which made the trip fun otherwise we would have not chosen this ship or trip. Cuba was a sort of bucket list thing, so it was worth it, however I would not do it again. Cuba was a cool place to visit once, they control everywhere you go and what they want you to see and hear about the culture and lifestyle of most Cubans. Basically what we saw was a country crumbling from within. The infrastructure and the buildings were trapped in a time warp from 1962. It was like something out of a H.G. Wells War of the Worlds. Lots of people doing there best to make a living out of nothing. Sure they have free housing and medical, but who would want to live in a building thats falling down all around them. You'll need the free medical just to stay alive. Oh, and we were told they had no crime? I had to think about that since every 3rd world country I've ever been in has some sort of crime be it petty or more serious. After I thought I about that statement, it dawned on me that they have no crime because no one has anything worth stealing......NO ONE. Well, anyway were glad to be back in Miami for a visit before we go home to Texas. It was and experience for sure but I feel bad for the people there, they must be brain washed or something for them not make a change in the government. Just my two cents. Read Less

This was my first cruise with Norweigan, and I am never going back. Starting with embarkation, the process was painful and confusing. It took several hours longer than expected and when we got on, every part of the ship was already packed with people. During the safety briefing, we were screamed at to shut up and there was broken glass on the floor. There was also broken glass on my parents deck for the entirety of the cruise when it was meant to be hosed off.  Everyday our room steward (she was the only good part) left a freestyle daily for the next day in our room with the itinerary, yet our cruise directory Mandy still announced the events of the day at 7AM at concert level volumes where you cannot even hear the person next to you talking. These announcements were not meant to be heard from state rooms, yet it was as though she was in our room with a microphone talking to us. Sleeping in is not an option. On to dining, I was not even remotely pleased with the food. The quality was abysmal and the service was terrible. There were some nice waiters, but they were the exception not the rule. If you wanted decent food, you had to pay for it. Generally, the food tasted pre made and frozen, if it wasn't it was often undercooked. The options were not great either. The buffet is crowded and the food is poorly made. We were also told almost every day that the wait was 45+ minutes, then only waited about 2 minutes. I don't know if they were trying to get rid of us or what. The wait for food and water was usually pretty long, but the waiters were apologetic. If you are planning on purchasing an internet package for school or work, bring your own laptop and expect to need assistance from the internet manager (only open a few hours a day). Doing work in the internet cafe is nearly impossible as it is located in the atrium where bands play and other events are held until past midnight. Entertainment such as shows cost extra. The ports were alright for the most part, but make sure to keep the weather in mind and plan an alternative if you are doing a private excursion. I would not reccomend doing excursions through the ship as they are overcrowded and overpriced due to the cruise line taking 50% of the initial cost. This cruise is not great for kids or adults. If you purchase the drink package, know that there are very few bartenders and they dont know how to make a lot of drinks. People still made it work though, as on the first night there was an old woman who walked around grabbing butts (mine too). The arcade package is insanely expensive, and the children services are subpar. This cruise has some cool slides, but there is only one pool for everyone under 18 and the deepest it gets is 4 feet. The play area for littles also looks very dangerous. This is not the cruise for a family. If you want to go on a cruise and have a good time, look into Carnival. They do everything better. Read Less

We went on this cruise with a group from a radio station. The rooms were so small two people could not move around at the same time because there was a king sized bed taking up most of it. For us, that was a waste. There was a odor which was similar to sauerkraut on certain levels of the ship that never went away. The food was serviceable but nothing outstanding. I can say the same about staff. On other cruises, the staff genuinely seem like they are happy to do anything for you (before you even realize you need or want it done). This staff wasn’t like that at all. One big negative for me was I got a hot shower the first day but not a single time after that! Worst of all, our room was right under the buffet style dining room. The sounds of the staff working at all hours was jarring in our room and while the bed was comfortable, I couldn’t sleep for all the racket. We purchased the specialty dining package but didn’t get to use it because there were no reservation times still available! Overall, pretty disappointed. Read Less

We booked a girls cruise and looked forward to a relaxing trip. The ports looked good on paper but when we stopped, it was usually a remote port built by NCL so you didn't get a good feel for the country. Even in Cozumel, we docked further away from the main port and had to walk a long way to get to the main shopping area. You prepay your tips for staff and as a result, the staff doesn't hustle or provide exceptional service. Main restaurant staff are slow, disinterested and don't always get orders correct. You feel like a bother asking for coffee and water. The exception was a great server we found in the Tropicana dining room. They offer music or dancers so book this room if you aren't doing specialty dining. Bar/ pool service is slow so if you have the unlimited drink package, order them in 2s to save time on long waits. There are a couple of exceptional bartenders but that is the exception. Room steward was efficient but our sheets were never changed. If you use any of the soap/lotion, don't expect any more put out. We had 2 bath towels for 2 people so you have to time your showers to ensure you have a dry towel to use later. They are very strict on the pool towels so don't misplace your towel (and hope your room steward doesn't pick it up) since they won't give you a replacement and threaten to charge you for it! Skip the spa. Everyone I talked to had the same experience where they waited 20-45 minutes past the scheduled time for a service. Staff couldn't remember where they "parked" a guest to wait. You aren't pampered while you wait with anything (nice music, cool cup of water or a fuzzy robe would be nice touches while you wait). Staff is trained to sell, sell, sell rather than provide a relaxing experience. Some would say to let guest services know when you are disappointed in something but they were so short staffed (lines waited up to an hour) and unfriendly so that wasn't worth it. Cirque show and Burn the Floor dancers were terrific! Overall I was very disappointed in NCL. The ship was pretty and it is nice that they refurbish them every 5 years but NCL doesn't deliver on service. Read Less

We are returning customers. Our previous experiences help us deciding to take this trip also. Are we disappointed this time or what. Room is clean. Shows are ok. The restaurants are not what they promoted. There's no free style. No shorts. No caps, no sleeveless shirts for man but ok for women. Food is unacceptable. Some of the crew members are great. Some look down to you if you order coffee or water. We traveled with Celebrity, MSC, Holland, Princess, Carnival and Norwegian. An advise for the entertainers, stay away from political jocks. Not nowadays. The people are already divided politically as never before. We're on the cruise to get away from this issues. Please, don't build up tension anymore than it already is. Buffett has a large selection of culinary cuisines but the quality is absent. Sugar free sweets are not offered. We hope that the rest of this trip will be fine. Read Less
