This was cruise #9 for me, #6 with Norwegian and my first time on the Escape. This was a full-occupancy+ cruise, with ~4800 passengers and 1600 crew. The Breakaway class is really the perfect balance of everything you need in cruising and the ship’s public spaces are big enough that you never feel crowded.

This was our first cruise ever. We enjoyed the Norwegian Gem. We had chosen a balcony room on the 11th deck. We did get the room we chose and it was much bigger in person than what the pictures had shown. Our room steward was very accommodating and friendly. We have been to 5 Norwegian ships. Despite the weather delay on the first day, and weather-related canceled island of GSC, this trip made on the top of our cruise list.

My wife became ill on the cruise and had to see the medical facility. She was diagnosed with COVID and a bacterial infection. The medical staff were incredible.
