We were booked for three, back to back cruises. Cruise #1 departed N.Y.C. with less than 1000 guests aboard. Initially, the lack of crowding made for pleasant sailing. It soon became evident that there was a problem aboard. The staff were masked 100% of the time, and seemed a little "distant" in their interactions with guests. We docked in Halifax, no problems. We enjoyed 4 sea days and an ...
The cruise started off normally and was fine to start off. From day one the food on board, including the pay restaurants, was nothing short of sensational! I cant compliment the culinary staff enough. I would like to state that our steward as well as most stewards went over and above on this cruise to make our long stay as pleasant as possible! The weather wasn't the best for most of the trip but ...
Let me start by disclosing that this is a fairly lengthy review, which I would loved to have had before we left. Bear with me please.
There were some very nice things about the Norwegian Dawn, its crew and our experiences you should know about. There are also some things to be critical of as to our destinations, the time of year we chose and the excursions we experienced as well. It is ...
While the ship and sailing company were chosen for us, as this originally started as big group/family trip, I wouldn't have chosen any other for our first cruise experience. The ship was fun, full of entertainment, food was delicious and abundant, but most of all we are extremely pleased with how incredibly clean the entire ship was maintained!
We had the pleasure of being able to enjoy the ...
I choose the cruise based on a lot of ports and few sea days. Found out that that was no shuttle from the train station to the ship. Had to walk a half mile with my cane leading the way. Our room was under the bridge and was very drafty with wind coming in around the balcony door most of the trip. It was next to impossible at every port to get a wheelchair for disembarking the ship. I had to ...
Restaurants: special dinning was not worth the price. the food was not great quality and served warm. The servers were very good and tried their best to assist.
The meat in Cagney's was extremely poor quality and stringy. The main dinning room turned out to be better than the special restaurants (disappointing)
Entertainment: the acts in the theater were excellent as was the ...
Very good cruise and experience. To see the fall colors was spectacular and the daily tours were well organized and wonderful.
We ate in the specialty restaurants 6 nights of the 13, and the Cafe other nights. We also enjoyed O'Sheenans for lunches.
Originally from upstate NY, we just had never been to the provinces, except Quebec. They were delightful and all so different.
Returning to ...
Very disappointing cruise. Not the agenda but the overall vibe and feel of the experience. My expectations for the price paid was first class yet from cabin cleanliness , management team to the buffet food, I would rate it very below average. Many employees especially senior staff avoided interaction by being on the ships phones as they walked by. Cabins was dirty and attendant did nothing more ...
Chose this cruise for the itererary and timing - peak fall colors in Canada and New England. Food was average, service was slow, dining room service was very slow. Ports of call and disembarkation was smooth except for the last one - New York City. Got in late, very disorganized exit and the transportation to the airport was a mess. No one knew which bus went to Newark, which one went to ...
Selected a Fall time cruise in the North East with three other couples. Had a good time on the cruise because of the company. But the food and beverage service was the worst I have ever experienced on a cruise ( I believe this was my 15th)
Suite cabin and specialty restraints were good. In the main dining room there were 4 occasions where it took well over an hour to receive the main course. In ...
