I have traveled many times on cruise ships. However, this was my first time on NCL. I chose NCL because a group of friends were traveling on this ship to Bermuda. Before my trip I needed to get in touch with a representative of NCL and on both occasions it took over 40 minutes of being on hold before I reached someone. These two reps were very helpful, but who needs to be on hold for 40 minutes? I have pictures to document this since this is poor customer service. I wouldnt bring this up, but since I went on the cruise from Boston to Bermuda and all the things wrong with this trip, I needed to bring it up. It makes sense that the cruise diverted to Nova Scotia and Maine when it was supposed to go to Bermuda and we shouldnt be put in harms way of a hurricane. However, no attention was given to the new itinerary and in fact the crew was cut and made for a dirty, unresponsive cruise experience. The ship had cups and dirty trays everywhere. The elevators where over run with guests. The restaurants; even the main dining had long waiting experiences. The staff at O'sheehans Bar was unresponsive and even rude. The Bimini pool bar and grill was closed most of the time causing overflow at other bars around the pool. There was no staff to take any drink orders around the pool, we even had someone approach us and take our drink order who was a guest. The gym was decent. The pool area for kids looked like something crafted / painted in a day by 2nd graders and belonged in the projects. Los Lobos, La Cucina and Cagney's were worth the extra $ for dinner. The cafe garden was over run, crowded, and you would have thought no one had eaten before and couldnt get enough. The guests were like hungry locus on a crop. The guests were angry, drunk and clearly not enjoying the new itinerary. The entertainment was decent. The casino was decent but the casino bar was horrible with long waiting times and I had to get my own drinks on a number of occasions while playing black jack; even after asking for service. The best bar on the ship was Gatsby's Bar. The wait staff was always available and very friendly. They kept their cool and they were servicing not only the Gatsby bar but the overflow from the horrible casino bar, La Cucina and Le Bistro and they did an amazing juggling act. Leila needs special mention since she seemed to be at that bar often and always with a great attitude and smile. The excursions were boring; really nothing to do however Bar Harbor Acadia park was nice; who needs more shopping and bars? I would never recommend this trip; if anything go to Alaska or anywhere else but there is nothing worth seeing on this adventure. I cant believe with the beverage package you can not get bottled water or that it doesnt include the minibar. Read Less

Booked a 7day Bermuda cruise and was sent on a 7 day Canada & New England cruise on the day of departure due to Hurricane Florence. I am glad they chose to keep everyone safe but am shocked at what they chose for a contingency plan (since the Norwegian Escape sailing out of NY still went into the Caribbean). I feel Norwegian could have done several things differently to help ease the pain of the unfortunate itinerary change. 15 mins early is on time...arrived roughly 15 mins early for our requested embarkation time but had to stand around for an hour or so while they prepared the vessel. They did not have enough chairs or space for all the guests waiting. Definitely an area to improve upon as my boyfriend has a titanium hip from serving in the army and long periods of standing can be quite painful. I was told by several people that an itinerary change of this magnitude is quite uncommon but working in the customer service industry was taken aback by the poor customer service displayed both on and off the ship when we were told they were going to do everything in their power to make the situation better. No refunds for a cruise of lesser value, no credits towards future cruises or onboard spending, no complimentary upgrades at all - they even refused to honor a $4.00 speciality coffee even though we had the unlimited beverage package covering drinks up to $15.00. We did encounter some hidden charges (you're taxed on purchases while in US ports) that could have been avoided had better signage been displayed for first time cruisers not familiar with the process. We also opted out of the insurance which we were pleased with because we'd only get 75% of our money to use towards a future cruise. The shows on board were great, impressive to see such choreography with such little space and time. Well rounded variety for all ages and something to do at all times. The concept of an all inclusive cruise is incredible. I'm assuming if we had gone to our intended destination or something comparable my judgment would not be as jaded. The included venues had good food, and the freestyle dining made things easier. We are going to try again but with a different cruise line. I hope your luck is better than ours. Read Less

Our itinerary was changed the morning of the cruise from Bermuda to Canada. We had no time to repack and were not prepared for this destination at all and the cruise line was rude, curt and less than accommodating in every way. Our room was extremely loud, it sounded as if they were working on the ship with a steel drum and hammer all through the night! I had to purchase ear plugs. The heat was on in the room even though I had the a/c on the lowest setting. The onboard smoking allowed in certain room wafted everywhere!!! They had us stop at 4!! Yes you read that right four different ports, with zero time at each one to do anything, save their lame excursions. Was not worth the time or money and we will never - never book with Norwegian. All the thumbs down!!! The next time I choose to go to Bermuda we will fly!!! Read Less

Bermuda! Not to be. Boring Canada when still green is probably the worst of the worst. No time to research, shore excursions far pricier than original destination, staff was ready to leave for home (like we were). So sad to see many people get off boat when they reached Halifax (where they came from) and Sydney and New Brunsick, and Bar Harbor. I thought the Captain made an easy call and did not consider the passengers and that we literally hung out in our backyards for 7 days. Caught a virus. Food in main dining rooms was excellent. Shows were pretty good. But what a BORE. I could have and would have stayed home but we had absolutely no options nor compensation for this sucky cruise. Why did Escape go South when we did not? Why was Prince Edwards Island offered as an alternative? The passengers were unhappy and NCL could care less as they have offered no compensation for this bad call. We would have been out of Bermuda before Florence hit which it did not and would hardly have affected us since the course did not include any of the states that were hit. AWFUL! Read Less

Before you decide to throw your money away on NCL, rethink your decision! Worst customer service I have ever seen. This is based on over 25 cruises my wife and I have been on. On Royal Caribbean, Carnival and MSC customer service has alway been a pleasure to deal with.Do to weather conditions I contacted NCL customer service earlier in the day and they assured me the ship was not changing its itenary. A few hours later I noticed a little weather advisory link on their website, when I clicked on it the information showed the ship's itinerary had changed. We never received any notification even though they had our cell phone numbers and email addresses. We contacted customer service to try to change to a different ship (even if I had to pay for a flight) and they denied our request. We tried customer service again the next day and got the same response. The only option they gave us was to cancel the trip and lose our money! Just awesome, way to go NCL, that's how to treat customers. We unfortunately decided to still go on the cruise instead of throwing the money away and had the worst cruise of my life! Everyone was upset, the staff on the ship were not very friendly because everyone was angry. We did have the drink package, however the only way to get a drink was to stand in lines at the bar. To add insult to injury while on the ship I had googled to see if the NCL Dawn had any complaints and I found a post that showed that the room we were in had an issue with bedbugs a few weeks before! Before you book on NCL, think about throwing your money directly in the water and save yourself the aggravation! Please note: insurance would not have helped this situation. https://www.wcvb.com/article/bed-bugs-bite-passengers-on-norwegian-dawn-cruise-from-boston-to-bermuda/22096424 Read Less

WARNING. If you bid on a Mini-Suite for the NCL Dawn, you may seriously regret it. We are Platinum Latitudes, and bid...not a lot...on a mini-suite and we got it - suite 11150. We were thrilled and excited until we boarded. The first thing we noticed that our cabin was under an overhang which eliminated sun on our balcony, totally. (We did notice it on our deck between 5-6pm one day). Then we quickly realized the real issue of our room - IT WAS DIRECTLY UNDER THE GARDEN CAFE. We try to avoid that kind of location worrying about the traffic above. What we didn't know is that NCL renovated the Cafe a year or two ago by removing the carpeting and installing a tile floor. And that was the real surprise. Every time someone moved their chair above us, we were treated this dragging sound. A Loud sound because it reverberated off the steel beam ceiling above us. Other guests to our left and right were as stunned as we were as we pulled out of Boston Harbor to begin our cruise. The noise didn't stop there, the sound of the coffee carts and cleaning carts treated us to a thunderous rolling across our balcony ceiling and across our cabin ceiling as well. And of course, the sound of heavy footed people and the children running and running. Day and Night - unending. Not one minute of peace...ever...seriously. We asked to speak with the Hotel Director and continued asking by phone and at the front desk for 2-1/2 days before we were 'granted' an appointment with him. The Reps on the Guest Services desk are highly protective of the managers...to a fault. Alain was gracious and understanding, and didn't know why NCL assigned those cabins (port and starboard sides) to guests as they know of the noise issue since the renovation. However, he credited the upgrade amount we paid. We were grateful for that. The only solace the Hotel Director could offer us was an inside cabin to use at night for sleeping. "Keep your suite, but sleep here if you think that will help" Since we were awaken from a sound sleep at night with children using the Cafe as a playground, it helped. And since we were awaken at 5:30AM from the staff preparing the Cafe, It helped. So for our last three nights on the Dawn , we changed into our sleepwear then traveled downstairs to our interior bedroom. It was the ONLY peace and quiet we got on the 7 day cruise. Our balcony door had to be kept closed to avoid the dragging sound. Even then, our cabin was a cacophony of sounds. Forget trying to read a book, or check your emails. It got to be like fingernails on a chalkboard. One day, I timed the silence - 28 seconds was the longest span of quiet in our cabin. Think about that. It's not faint or distant sounds you can't distinguish. We knew exactly what the people above our cabin were doing...pulling out their chair, sitting and skooching into their table. We had expected to hear from NCL about this horrendous situation, but not a word from them to date. We will be writing to NCL CEO and the VP Guest Services to let them know that in our 28 years cruising, this NCL Dawn cruise was the worst ever... regardless of cruise lines. Look, we know that not every cruise will be 100%. We get that, and have dealt with it. But this cruise was very different. And if guests don't speak up, NCL won't know when they have a problem that needs fixing, and nothing will change. But there in lies another surprise... We understand that NCL has been aware of this noise problem, yet they still accept bids and put guests in those cabins - including their most loyal Latitude members at that. SHAME ON YOU NCL...SHAME! Wouldn't it be a lesson hard learned if the NCL renovation designers and the NCL Managers who approved the plan were required to work out of and sleep in those cabins... for just 2 nights. Maybe then, NCL would understand what their guests have had to deal with, and put their comfort (and sanity) ahead of profit ...just for once. We certainly didn't "FEEL FREE" on the NCL Dawn. We felt used, mistreated and trapped for 7 days. BEFORE YOU MAKE AN UPGRADE BID FOR THE NCL DAWN, ASK QUESTIONS ...lots of them. We celebrated our 51st Wedding Anniversary on this cruise. One of our Ushers decided to take his very first cruise. He got a lower deck cabin. He felt bad about our cabin, but said that he would cruise again..on a different ship. We enjoyed ourselves onboard, in fact, I got a break as the two guys would go off together at night. We ate at Cagney's twice - it's just the best and worth the cost. Also Moderno where over did it on the buffet and the meats. And La Cucina was perfecto. The Dawn's specialty restaurants are worth it. The entertainment was just so-so. We almost felt that it was a new entertainment staff with visiting headliners. And talking to staff many were new on this ship or to NCL. The games and activities were enough to keep anyone busy - and it did. It is hard to be objective about the cruise because the noise in our cabin was a constant dark cloud. We love NCL, but will not travel on the DAWN again, and certainly not in a balcony cabin on deck 11. Avoid it. Read Less

We have cruised three times. Recently our family of 20 cruised Boston to Bermuda on the ship named Dawn. We were advised by many friends to not take this cruise. That we would be well served to drive to NY and take the alternative options. The logistics of geting 20 people to NY timely was too difficult. This was a fatal mistake. The ship was old, but not awful. The staff was poorly trained, leaving us to struggle with every reservation we made, from dinners to excursions. The irony was all the employees presented like their number one goal was to provide high quality service, but then had no knowledge, skill or authority to do so. When problems arose, they smiled and redirected you to another desk. I have since tried to resolve issues at the "corporate guest relations", and now I know why the employees on the front line are inept! A few specifics: Do not book a large group for the cruise, as they will not book your cabins together, no matter how many calls your Travel Agent makes. Do not book your Excursions thru the ship. They do not inform you of the regulations and are not consistent with allowing passengers to get off ship. Our 15 year old son was getting on and off the ship with various family members for three days, but one day he was not allowed off, without his parents. The employees decided it was safest to keep our son on ship without family, rather than allowing him to attend the fishing excursion with his uncle and cousins. This resulted in the rest of the family returning prematurely from a dinner half enjoyed in Hamilton. Very expensive dinner not eaten. Also costing family $150 in the unused fishing ticket. NCL refuses to reimburse any of the expense, even though the Excursion Marketing (running non stop on the TVs) pushes how this is the safest most secure way to enjoy your excursions. Making a dinner reservation took a PHD. We would book dinner, and occasionally need to make an adjustment to the number of people coming or location. The employee at the desk could never find the original reservation. The software was so outdated, that the employee could not see any previous messages, without scrolling thru excessive unrelated messages to our party. We got to the point where we requested a printed receipt of the reservation commitment, which was the only way we successfully dined at two of the upgrade restaurants. I think the dinner upgrade package is not intended to be used. It seemed the ship's intentions were to systematically discourage you from using the benefit. At a time when everyone is worried about germs and unclean water on cruises, you would think water bottles would be included in drink package. Not true. You would have to ask for a cup of water, or pay $4.00 (waters bottles are included on Celebrity) WIFI, save your money. We spent more time with the manager in the technology café, and still could not access the internet. Time and money NOT well spent. No reimbursement there. There was a designated smoking area, that was in prime pool real estate, though most smokers and vapors were all over the ship. One day, I was sitting at pool with my 15 year old reading a book. I put my drink on her chair, while I dug into my bag for my lotion and the waitress came over and reprimanded me for giving my daughter a drink. I explained I did not, and the next thing I know, we had three security guards standing with us by the pool. It was silly, but insulting. Also ironic, as there were more 20-30 year olds drunk all over the ship. I did find one employee at the front desk, who empathized with us and discreetly suggested we call corporate. I did and have been given the run around. They require you to send an email to voice dissatisfaction, and close your case with a generic response. I even with wrote a letter to Mr. Andy Stuart, President and CEO and got no satisfaction. Summary, AWFUL. Try another line. Read Less

My wife and I chose this cruise due to its convenience sailing from Boston. This was our first sailing on NCL and our last. The poor experience began at embarkation and continued for seven days. We were provided a time to check in and board and were herded like cattle for three hours then finally let on. The food provided at the buffet was virtually inedible, after a day or two my wife ate boxed cereal for breakfast because the food was so awful. We had one average meal in Aqua on the first night, after that is was all downhill. Aside from the first day, Service at OSheehans was horrific and we complained on multiple occasions then just never went back. The Mexican restaurant was terrible food was not fresh, pork tacos were dry and cold and service was non existent. We had a good meal and good service at Cagney's, if not for free upgraded dining this would have cost 100+ dollars. The mattress in my room had a deep, 8-9 inch, depression in it, just totally worn out, you could feel every spring, when we mentioned it they advised they could not replace the mattress. They did come up with a solution though, they filled the void with a duvet cover then asked if this was an adequate solution. Obviously, it was not, they recognized the problem and this was their best solution. The ship was dirty, all the time. No one policing the pool area, people saving crows of chairs with towels for the day and never using them. Teens drinking alcohol and running wild. This cruise literally got worse and worse by the day. My wife and I actually explored the option of flying home from Bermuda. Most of the entertainment was sub par at best, we did like the piano player Paul and Guitarist Degas at Gatsby's, and the headlining comedian, all the other shows were just bad. By far the worst cruise line I have ever been on, I will pay the extra money to fly to a port to take an alternative cruise line. Read Less

We arrived super excited for our vacation only to be placed in a cabin with NO AC for three days we voiced our concerns only to be told they would send someone and each night we came back to a sauna. We were pacified with $50 off vouchers to the spa but would have to spend $100 to even use them. We had dinner reservations for what we thought would be 7 nights in the AQUA room only to find HAIR in my husbands dinner. We then tried Venitian and I found hair on the plate, We then went to the Bliss lounge on the last night and was charged for drinks we never ordered. When we confronted the "mixology manager" he said oh sorry I thought you had a drink package, if we had a package why would you then charge us. Not a good experience at all, the Staff seemed bothered by the guests which did not seem like what we should have experienced or paid for. Read Less

I chose this cruise for my boyfriend and I because it seemed like a good bang for your buck at the time. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of flying and thought this could be a fun alternative. The cruise itself was super easy to book and board. When we got on the ship, we were the youngest people traveling alone, we're 25. Everyone was very old and very slow moving (not to mention the judgemental looks and entitlement to the elevator). The food was terrible. Part of the appeal to the cruise was that the food would be good and easy. Unless you were willing to pay for a full meal every night, you are eating the fattiest, lowest grade meat and the blandest options of everything else. It was a week of french fries and soft serve. You couldn't bring your own booze, the booze package was $800 per person, and if you did pay for the $11 mixed drinks there was barely any alcohol in it. The island we went to, Bermuda, was absolutely amazing. We rented mopeds and did the excursions we were interested in on our own, beating crowds and saving money (the places didn't charge as much as the cruise line charges). Back to the boat for two days of $50 bingo and french fries and both my boyfriend and I contracted scabies from the mattress. Awesome. If you want to spend $2000 to be with the dinosaurs of the country, eat mush and get scabies than the Norwegian Dawn is for you! Read Less

The service desk people were not helpful and uncaring. The rooms are cramped. My husband and I hit our knees and heads several times. Nothing to do on the ship unless you paid extra. The entertainment was subpar except for the singing of Patti and Jose which was excellent. Both us and the couple we travelled with had no hot water on the shower. We just completed the Boston to Bermuda cruise (10/20 - 10/27) on the NCL Dawn and I was never so happy to be home. Our cabin (8157) was located directly above the Bliss nightclub and when I tell you that music was so loud until 3am every night, I mean that we could identify song lyrics to every song they played. Our room shook from the bass. Even earplugs were no help because you could just feel the thumping. We complained nightly. Multiple times some nights. On day 3 I finally went down to the front desk at 1am in my pajamas to beg them to do something about it and I was told "ma'am, we have an organization to run, this is as low as we can turn it down, please stop calling us". Seriously?!?!? They had no other cabins to move us to so unfortunately we had to endure it nightly.....till 3am with 2 little kids. Hell, anyone?? To say that we were exhausted and it ruined our week was an understatement. The music poolside was another complaint. It was so loud that you couldn't have a conversation with each other. It's one thing to have background music poolside (which I enjoy) and it's another thing to have the DJ playing songs a a deafening level where you can't even speak to the person next to you without shouting. Not enjoyable. Buffet and main dining food was ok. Nothing spectacular but certainly worth the price of the cruise. I will say that the specialty restaurants were fantastic. Le Bistro and Cagney's were both wonderful. I would recommend you purchase a meal plan if you didn't opt for it as your free option. It boiled down to roughly $27 per person/per restaurant if you purchased a plan and it's easily double that if you pay a la cart. The entertainment was also ok but nothing super amazing. The magician was probably the best show. The improv team was fun. Watch your drink slips closely. We didn't do the drink package and paid for our drinks and noticed that many of them didn't give us slips with each purchase. We assumed it was just because so many people did the unlimited package that they got out of the habit of giving receipts. Until I looked on our iconcierge app and noticed we were charged $21 for one rum and coke. I went back to the bar and they said "oh, he must have ordered a double" and when my husband came over he quickly changed his tune and asked us what we wanted for free. Maybe it was an innocent mistake but his reaction lead us to believe he knew he was in the wrong. So keep an eye on the charges since they seem to be a little sneaky with them. Two BIG PROS of this ship: Kids club (spash Academy) is amazing. My kids loved it and would have spent every waking moment there. They actually cried the last day when they had to say goodbye to the staff. Also, I will say that the cruise director "Richard" was AWESOME! OMG he was so fun! My kids loved him and he remembered their names and would should out to them anytime we'd run into him on the ship. He was front and center at every party and celebration and seriously was the life of the party. Couldn't ask for a better cruise director. Read Less

This ship lacked quality in food entertainment & service However the Mexcian & Italian add charge restaurants are fantastic We upgraded to balcony room It was filthy! We complained & we were provided a case number & told to contact guest relations once we returned home It took over 2 weeks for guest relations to respond to our complaint Within the complaint I shared the 15 photos I had & they already had the written report from the housekeeping manager I had requested the $300 per person balcony upgrade to be refunded It was a complete disgrace even after it was "fixed Although NCL sends their typical cookie cutter reply, expressing their "heartfelt apology" they were not able to honor our upgrade refund request. BUT.To show "good faith" they offered us each a $175 onboard credit valid for 12 months, can not be combined with any other offers is non-transferable. Dining: upgrade restaurants such as the mixian and Italian are to die for. Free food tasted like Crisco, was dried out and left much to be desired. Activities/Entertainments was lacking talent and geared to an older generation. One pool no adult pool.pool was small. Service: I had a pool server huff and roll his eyes when I asked for a drink! Bartenders not friendly or interactive like they are on other NCL ships. Public restores were clean but limited. Layout of ship was cramped and hard to find some places . Deck space empty where there should have been bars and high tops or clam chairs and lounges at minimum. Getting on and off the ship was well organized and quick considering the amount of passengers. Towel exchange was closed after our last day at port and the nicest weather day with a pool party scheduled. Being stuck with wet sandy towels sucked. Smoking is permitted and I am a smoker BUT the casino was unbearable as well as Gatsby area due to all the smoke. Pool side smoking area crammed and ashtrays be very empty. Although this was a "free" casino cruise we still paid $1200 pp between upgrades, drink package, gratuities, port fees and taxes not counting spending money and upcharge restaurants. This was our 6th NCL cruise and it won't be our last BUT we will never sail this ship again. It was horrible all around! Bermuda is BREATHTAKING. It was our 2nd time there and won't be our last. Due to weather our excursions were canceled. Read Less

NCL is its worst enemy. The corporation makes terrible decisions and expects the crew to take the heat. The new latitude program is a perfect example. The loyalty was paid off by taking our earned rewards away. Latitude members no longer can get mushrooms or onions on their steak at cagneys. Why.....because corporate NCL decided this should be cut. Latitude members beware of their newest cheat. We received free internet minutes due to our loyalty. In the past ,the internet turned off when your internet ran out. Not now.....beware. It switches over to a by the minute charge. Cheat ! And very expensive. The crew works so hard. But customers get frustrated with the changes. I feel bad for the crew. The crew is forced to play ignorant. The ship is beautiful. Selection of restaurants is excellent. The production shows are corny with the exception of elements. NCL.....I have been loyal to you. Give the platinum plus loyal customers a side at Cagney's The true treasure on this ship......Jose and Patti. Trivia was fun. Lots of variety. Our cabin was located in the center of the ship. It was a good design, but close to the atrium. . Los lobos......one word.......guacamole. Cagney's.......lamb chops (yummy), steak (of course), oysters Moderno's......the salad bar (unique) La Cucina.......not a fan LeBistro..........escargot Bermuda is always wonderful. Horseshoe beach, St. George, the caves, and museum are just a few of a guaranteed good time. Read Less

dear travelers, A little over a month ago I left Boston on the Norwegian Dawn headed to Bermuda. At the beginning everything seemed to be exactly what we had hoped for. The staff was friendly, the check in process was smooth. These things were short lived. It was myself and two other passengers traveling in one oceanfront cabin. The room size was adequate for the three of us and house keeping was wonderful. The main issues I had with the cruise was the food and our luggage arriving late. The first issue was that our luggage didn't arrive till 730pm when we had arrived at one thirty. Now I understand they had to process everyone's belonging. however for that time frame we were in traveling clothes and didn't get to enjoy the amenities like the pool, or use the dining hall since one person in our party had a tank top on. the second issue was the food, the one thing we were all looking forward too.On the ship there were a few places to stop and eat. They had a variety of food, which all seemed to lack basic flavor. I thought at first this could just be me but the rest of my party agreed and for the rest of the time we had difficulty finding anything we really enjoyed. We attempted one of the specialty restaurants which was actually worse and a waste of money compared to the dining hall. lastly, my significant other and I had difficulty with the gym. We are both very active, and partner teaches striking and ju jitsu classes so naturally he was very excited to see a heavy bag. They had gloves which later in the evening when classes were over he put on to use. He was then informed he was not allowed to use the gloves but still could have access to the heavy bag. Him and myself found it negligent for the facility to over access to something and not have proper equipment. Someone could seriously injure themselves this way. I do not recommend this cruise line if you are looking for a cruise with good food and good amenities. We were disappointed to the point we most likely won't cruise again. Read Less

We chose this cruise as we have sailed several times with norwegian. It is cheap. The ship is old with noticable rust in several spots, raw sewerage spewing from toilet on day 1, lack of hot water for nearly 1 full day. Staff unfriendly and uncaring that human waste was spewing from the toilet in our cabin for us to walk through. No wonder cruises have norovirus on them. We had to call the desk several times and visit in person to have the situation rectified. We also asked that a birthday be celebrated on the cruise, never happened. Also traveled with friends who received 2 $70 onboard credits for booking last minute. I booked the trip in nov have traveled with norweigan 5-6 times and received no incentive. If i were you, i would always wait to the last minute to book especially when incentives are being offered for waiting. AT LEAST IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO TRAPSE THROUGH HUMAN WASTE WHY NOT RECEIVE AN INCENTIVE Read Less

Dining was sub-par, food was the same almost every day. Drinks were inconsistent and the bartenders barely knew how to make them. Staff barely spoke english and were not very friendly or welcoming. Drinking card did not include bottled water. Entertainment was ameture at best. Felt like they wanted to get us on, take our money and get us off. Felt no appreciation that my family and I sacrificed our time off from work and our hard earned money to be there. The last morning at 7:30am i awoke to banging in the hall which turned out to be six customs agents in full tactical gear doing a random search. Turns out it was my grandparents room, who are in their 70's and my grandmother is in a wheelchair on oxygen. They forced them into the hall in her nightgown and made her sit there exposed to passing patrons. The level of disrespect in this situation I felt was very high. As a consumer I feel I have been cheated out of my money and would never support Norwegian Cruise Lines business again. I will make sure that none of my friends and family participate in their business as well. Read Less

The staff was horrible, the food was horrendous and the entertainment was almost non existent. You can no longer bring water or soda on board but you can bring wine probably because they charge a corkage fee. Don't even try to contest the water policy because they file a report with the mall security team on the ship and then they threaten to remove you from the ship... Had sailed on NCL 10 or 11 times but never again. Cruiser beware. 75 % of the time water stations in cafe were out of order or lacking ice. Free flavored drinks constantly out of the flavoring. Can't remove tips on ship for people who like to personally pay the servers you have to go on line and fill out a form to get tips removed. It's all about the money not the customer anymore. Don't cruise on this ship it sucks. Read Less

Traveled to Bermuda for a wedding with a large group. The island of Bermuda was gorgeous, the beaches were well-kept and very clean. However, the cruise was very disappointing. We had terrible customer service, to say the staff was accommodating would be a great understatement. The food was terrible and our meals arrived cold multiple nights after waiting 45+ minutes. Don't expect to eat anything remotely healthy for this 7 day cruise, the only vegetables available are soaked in butter or olive oil. The layout of the buffet dining area was inconvenient. Sitting down for a complimentary dinner cannot be freely decided last minute as you will have a 30+ minute wait in the main dining room or AQUA, their other complimentary dining area. We made reservations to sit TOGETHER as a large group (15 people) and every single time, the staff split us up into separate tables. The children's pool was closed for the first 4 days of the trip, due to drainage issues. Children under 3 were not allowed in the adult pool, even with an adult. Most of us bought the unlimited beverage package, but the staff doesn't tell you that drinks over $15 will be charged to your room, you must pay the amount exceeding $15. Additionally, drinks bought while docked in Boston are taxed and you must pay the tax on each drink, also charged to your room unknowingly. There is a $15 service charge per person, per night, for tipping the crew. For three people, expect to pay an extra $280 total just for these service charges. The entertainment was sub-par, activities weren't great. Most activities come with an additional charge of some sort. To play one round of bingo can cost $25 per card. Bermuda was beautiful, we had nice sunny weather. Horseshoe bay is a must see! A lot of people on our cruise were very disappointed. I've been on three previous cruises with Royal Caribbean and, after this trip, I will never cruise with Norwegian again. Read Less

I have been on 3 other Norwegian cruises in the past and figured this one would be better after hearing it would be newly renovated. But by time it sailed the renovations weren't even finished. This boat was nowhere near ready or at the level of expectation of an almost new ship. The air conditioner and toilet in the stateroom was broken most of the week. The maintenance crew came to fix the toilet on day 2 and worked for the rest of that day but then had issues for the duration of the cruise. The air conditioner was not working til the 6th day at sea!!! The railings and walls throughout the boat were still being painted throughout the week. The fumes from the high gloss finish on the railings was unbearable. The wet paint signs, wet floor signs and caution tape were around every corner. The boat was still being cleaned up from construction and the crew was constantly hosing down surfaces everywhere. In the casino at least half of the machines were broken or not in use. The pit boss would leave for hours at a time and no one would be there to track your bets, so you wouldn't be gainig points or credit. The price for seeing the med/nurse and the charge for the use of internet are both extremely high. The entire crew was replaced when it was dry docked for the renovations so they had to have all been in training during that time. Everyone we asked on staff said they haven't been on a cruise yet and none of them had been employed for more than a few months yet. This was the first sailing of the ship so they had absolutely no experience. Don't get me wrong there were a select few who were exceptional but the overall experience of this trip was horrible and I will not be booking another cruise with Norwegian ever again. Read Less

We had a balcony 10652 which was nice. Food was fine crew members were awesome but the ship was not ready. Toilets didn't work some days, and the elevators weren't working properly. It Took at least 25 minutes to get a drink at any bar on the ship drink policy was not friendly .One small pool for over 2200 people!!! They painted while in port, we had a headache from the smell all day. The casino was a disaster, only half the machines worked. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and our first cruise! Our Special cake was forgotten at our dinner. Our maid and cabin were the best things on the cruise. May cruise again but not on Norwegian Dawn! Read Less

We received the "free cruise" flyer in the mail from Resorts hotel in AC,NJ and decided to take advantage it. Little did we know free meant 2500 dollars in little charges. If you are the type of person who cannot unwind or hates rowdy crowds this cruise is not for you. Here is why this was the worst vacation of our life's: 1. The room was the size of a mozzleium, do not overpack thinking you will need a lot of dress clothes (the people on this boat wear a lot of shorts of flip flops.) 2. Walking through the hallways are touture if you are claustrophobic. 3. I have never seen so many drunk middle aged people in my life. Most people got the alcoholic package (we did not) and they must have felt obligated to drink all day and night. One lady dropped a martini glass in the pool and it had to be closed for 3 days. 4. If you google Norwegian Dawn you will see a pretty pool deck that looks so serene. It's the worst place on earth. The pool is the size of a bathtub and as shallow as one. It is filled with urine from latchkey kids and their parents alcohol. There are literal jersey shore look spikes sitting next to you smoking, and you can not get up without stepping in somebody's drink and almost falling down the stairs. 5. If you enjoy swimming you are better off putting scuba gear on in your bathtub, NCL is famous for false advertising. They make their pools like they are Olympic size but in reality they are tiny and you have an inch to move. At least on this boat anyway. Getting in to cool down was horrible, the bruises I had on my legs and stomach from being kicked from trying to move in that pool were the size of golf balls. 6.There were 4 hot tubs that could seat 5 people per tub. The cruise had 2500 people on it, this didn't work out too well... 7. There are no rules enforced on this ship we had kids running up and down our hallway all night from night one to night 7... Children also jump from the stage into the pool, one almost drowned. It clearly says no diving but again anything goes. 8. Guest services was very rude and not helpful in the least bit. 9. Many things were unsafe on this boat, a rotting piece of wood was falling off the hot tub ( a huge chunk) and nobody did anything about it. I slipped of the ladder due to kids pushing and had wood in my foot for the whole trip. 10.the food is not good at all. It is no better than college cafeteria food, and it's the same thing every day and night. We went to the buffet right when we got on the boat and we saved a seat for a little old lady and people were fighting her for it, lying and screaming. That was the first bad sign for us. 11. They messed up the day they were supposed to decorate our room for my birthday, it took several calls to refund the money and they were extremely rude. 12. They will bleed you dry for money. No matter what you are doing they will try to take your picture, you could be sunbathing with lotion all over your face and they shove a camera in front of you and then try to charge you 40 dollars. No thank you. 13. The worst thing about the cruise was the things we found out that made us regret giving NCL a dime. They hire forgeion workers and they are away from their families for months on end, they barley speak to them. So sad. They share tiny cabins with 3 other workers and work rigorous hours. 14. I REFUSE TO AFFILATE BERMUDA WITH THE CRUISE OR THE CRUISE LINE. -Bermuda, Royal Naval Dockyard -Docking was easy -Horseshoe Bay was just as beautiful as the pictures -Dolphin Quest was amazing ( we did not purchase it through NCL) - We felt rushed and wished we had more time -After extensive research a resort in Bermuda would have been the same price Sidenote: Having no wifi or cable is extremely difficult, Dirty Dancing played over and over again on the TV and it was miserable!
