This was my first cruise and most likely my last. The cruise was filled to capacity to include 600 kids. At age 18 if a guardian signed off the 18 year old could drink and they hung out in groups with no supervision. The staff being over polite would not address the unruly teenagers or kids to include taking over many activities they should not have been in attendance at.
The pool areas ...
The only nice thing about the cruise was Bermuda and the entertainment. The food was below average. The ship was understaffed. The bar line ups was ridiculous and it was a rarity for a server to come around to take drink orders. The ship was full of children running around and out of control. You couldn't get into any of the hot tubs because it was always full of children even in the adult area. ...
We just took our first NCL cruise out of Boston on the Dawn. I will never sail with this cruise line again. The service was horrible took an hour to check in at Black Falcon Terminal the woman checking us in could not see our passports she kept trying to figure out the difference between my husband and my son (one is 50 the other is 16). Finally she put on some reading glasses and still could not ...
Being from the greater Boston area, riding on the ship without flight or long drive was a plus for locals. The boarding was long lengthy wait, specially hard for my 2 years old.
We had mini-suite on 11th floor. The room was great, good view, and reasonable size for 2 adults and 2 kids. You can tell the room needs some update, but was clean generally. I wish the room steward to be more mindful, ...
Coffee with Baileys and Kahlua $18 and change BEFORE gratuity? Really?
Some beers $9.50 Really?
But this one took the cake. Pool bar on deck 12 had some very poor service. It was fine when few people were there but when things got busy most folks waited between 10-25 minutes for a drink, this from a company that makes huge profits selling alcohol. We didn't buy the super duper alcohol ...
The Norweigan Dawn as said in other reviews is a little tired and has some issues throughout the cruise. To begin with on deck 12 where the pool is is quite small the size of the pool is really small and there is absolutely no way that there was enough room for the majority of the cruisers to enjoy themselves. Along with the pool being to small while walking around throughout the cruise there is ...
I have been on the cruise to Bermuda from NYC on another Norwegian ship and thought it would be very similar. Very wrong! I never had bad service on the previous cruise. On my most recent cruise out of Boston on the Dawn, service was terrible. The wait staff overall was very inattentive and unmotivated. This was seen in at least two of the restaurants and three of the bars. We felt like we had to ...
We needed 2 people to open door to balcony, doors between balconies rattled constantly.
Railing on son's balcony lifted up, reported but no response.
Buffet was a joke, more like a bad cafeteria, food was hit or miss.
Brazilian restaurant was terrible, they sure knew how to ruin a piece of beef.
Will never do the Dawn again. ...
I came back from Bermuda which I go to every year as I love Bermuda more than any other caribbean island. The Dawn was the worse ship I ever been on peroid. About 7 years ago I went on it and wasent so bad. Still my favorite is Celebrity Cruise Line.
Not one, let me say again NOT one staff said hello to me or helped me out with my parents who are disabled and use walkers through out the ship ...
Sailed on Norwegian Dawn from Boston-Bermuda 6/5/2015. Rated the cruise subpar based mainly on the cramped stateroom and the problems that we needed to report during our trip. Our room (#4600) was on the lowest level and was a cramped 159 square feet. During the trip we reported 3 separate occasions of the toilet overflowing and flooding the bathroom floor and a 4th report of it not flushing at ...
