I am active, active, active onboard transAtlantic cruises and NCL keeps me busy with dance classes, cardio, origami, trivia games, mystery games, lectures, speakers, movies, NFL football games shown on the big screens (YIPPEE!!), audience participation events, the reading room's daily puzzles, art classes, the 24 hour freestyle food buffet, the rock climbing wall, the ropes course, bowling, the ...

Beautiful ship

We chose the breakaway transatlantic mainly for ports and price - we cruised Norwegian in 1990,1991,2001 but those records were no where in their system so went as new cruisers (our 14th cruise). the ship is beautiful but Norwegians attention to cost per plate in the main dining rooms were apparent - meals in the premium rooms were great but 14 days with cafeteria level food. Our room steward ...

Breakaway Transatlantic

Small embarkation area in Copenhagen, but things moved smoothly. Loved our large balcony when we could, but transatlantic sailings have a long way to go, so we were going fast. Lots of wind closed decks a lot, plus traveling between two hurricanes. Closing decks meant more time in our cabin, which was hard on our steward since he needed to straighten up! But Lawrence did a great job and let us ...

Wonderful Cruise

We decided to try a transatlantic cruise and we liked the ports. We also like Norwegian. The ship is big so there is a lot of walking, but laid out well. The crew was wonderful and we loved the fellow passengers. There was something for everyone. There were handicap people on the ship who seemed to get around okay. They have studios for singles with a special lounge. We particularly liked ...

This cruise was wonderful! I particularly enjoyed the “Freestyle” format. The venues provided everyone with a variety of options for dining. The Manhattan Room was my personal favorite. The staff was both pleasant and efficient. Entertainment on this beautiful shop was first rate. The “Adele” tribute was incredible. There was something for everyone to enjoy. Port stops, though short, were ...

This was the cruise for us!! Four stops in a transatlantic package!! Ideal! It was our first experience on a larger ship and it was a worthwhile experience. The facilities were luxurious and the ropes course was sprine tingling! Our cabin was perfect for us, not fancy but it had everything we needed including a surprising amount of storage space and the entertainment was outstanding! Totally ...

We have cruised with Holland America, Celebrity and Princess mainly, once on Carnival (enough said). We have always wanted to try a transatlantic but were nervous about having a lot of sea days, however this one offered interesting ports and only 5 sea days prior to arrival in NYC. We flew to Copenhagen with a stopover in Iceland (amazing) and spent a day and a half exploring beautiful ...

My husband and I weren't taking this trans-Atlantic cruise as a saved-up-for dream vacation or an anniversary trip or something. Not even as a bucket list trip, we were doing this because my husband was immigrating to the USA and we wanted to do it the "old fashioned" way. So, really, we were looking to spend the least amount of money possible and our expectations for the 2-week journey were ...

Great cruise itinerary, just bad weather

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This was the second part of our back to back cruise holiday, after doing a nine day Baltic cruise, unfortunately the bad weather continued. Tropical storm Leslie hung around the North Atlantic for over a month, with 40 knot winds and 3 to 5 metre swells making life on board uncomfortable on most days. We did make all of our ports on this cruise and we enjoyed good weather while in each of the ...

Copenhagen, Southampton, Cork, and Ponta Delgada Are Memorable

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We chose this cruise based on the ports on the itinerary of this Transatlantic cruise. The only port which proved to be less than desirable was Gothenburg, Sweden. There just wasn’t much to see or do. The embarkation port of Copenhagen and the destination ports of Southampton, Cork, and Ponta Delgada were extremely enjoyable. Hamlet Tours in Copenhagen has a wonderful full day tour of ...
