Baltic cruise with children exceeding expectations except for the kids club

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

After reading some of the reviews and complaints about NCL in general and their megaships I was a bit hesitant to book this cruise. It was our first time with NCL. having previously sailed with Disney and Celebrity. I am happy to say my fears were unfounded. Embarkation in Copenhagen went smoothly. We started out with lunch at Taste, which was great, and then headed back to our cabin - a 5 ...

Overall a good cruise. Food good, entertainment good, itinerary excellent. Main complaints had to do with poor internet service. After paying for the premium package I expected excellent service, instead I got internet that did not work for at least two of the nine days. Many complaints from guests but no refunds offered. Ship was quite nice. Recently refurbished. Ports were great. ...

Big Ship, Small Venues

Just returned from a 9 day Baltic cruise. First time on such a large ship. Lots of people everywhere always crowds. Trouble with internet went for help waited 1 hour and half for help. Only one person working and just a few hours a day. Very frustrating. Guests services long lines, excursions longer lines. Very few port talks. One on Russian Heritage held at a very small bar area. Probably ...

NORWEGIAN GETAWAY REVIEW

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

The entertainment on the ship was amazing! We went to see Burn the Floor, Cirque Dreams and Steam, the Magic Show and the Million Dollar Quartet. They were all fantastic and you could tell that the performers were very experienced. The dining was okay. Garden Cafe had lots of options when it came to different cuisines. The teppanyaki restaurant and La Cuchina were nice but it was really annoying ...

Pretty awful, still have PTSD from the experience!

I would just concur with the poster who wrote "Marginal and Loud" as their headline. If you like really big, really loud, really overcrowded, and really under-serviced ships, then this ones for you. Otherwise I would run and "Getaway" as fast as you can. The ports were great though. The room attendants were friendly and spot on, so I will give kudos where due. The Starbucks was great. The ...

Constant barrage of selling

This was my best experience with NCL but, as on previous cruises, the full time assault on your senses with the myriad methods of selling is offensive and pervasive. The cruise itself was wonderful with an excellent crew and wonderful food as long as you stay away from the assaultive passengers in the Garden Cafe. The ports were of great interest for me and I bought more excursions than I ...

Getaway Baltic Cruise was Overcrowded & Expensive

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

To be clear, we chose Norwegian because of the port stops and because the timing of this cruise allowed us to take it with another family. Overall, we had a great time with our friends, liked the port stops (except Russia), but the Norwegian part of the experience was disappointing. In the past, we have cruised with Disney (2), Princess (1), and Carnival (1). Liked... 1. The ports and ...

Fabulous Baltics!

I do not think I have nearly enough time to write a review that adequately captures the fun we had on this cruise, so I will touch on the basics! Embarkation and Disembarkation were a breeze. A little bit of a wait to get on the ship, with other Haven travellers, but once we got moving, it was smooth. We traveled on this cruise as a couple, leaving our kids at home for an anniversary trip. ...

Marginal, loud and poorly run

We chose this cruise for the ports. The Baltic ports were great. Unfortunately, this ship is poorly designed and way understaffed. And the staff, although friendly, was unable to do much if it wasn’t in their guidelines. No extra towels, etc. there was ALWAYS a 45 min line for customer service desk. Day and night. The specialty Restaurants only open at night and they are hard to book. The ...

Getaway Baltics Cruise - June 25, 2019 - LONG!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This particular cruise checked all of the boxes for length, dates, ports and price. Having cruised over twenty times on Norwegian, Carnival, Princess, and Royal Caribbean, I feel I have a pretty good frame of reference when it comes to making comparisons and following historical trends. That being said, I'll break my review down by topic so readers can skip what they like. EMBARKATION: We ...
