First time on a NCL ship. Previously sailed on RCL, Carnival and Celebrity. This was cruise number 6, I think.
I've read several reviews bashing this ship about it being poorly designed, crowded and all the staff was disinterested. I will disagree to an extent. I had zero issues getting a table in any food venue. Yes, they were busy but I don't care what ship you are on that at 6pm, ...
Cabin is clean but small and a bit dated.
Quality professional entertainment almost non existent or in too small venues for such a large ship
Food Ok, neither bad nor something to write home about.
Servers and cabin attendants friendly but over worked.
Some of the admin staff could be friendly.
STOLE $41 from me. Charged us for 24 bottles of water we received and the same day ...
This was our first time on one of NCL's larger ships - and may be our last. The layout of the Escape leaves something to be desired, because when ship is at full capacity it's hard to even walk properly on some decks. We spent over an hour trying to find just two chairs together on any deck on the sea days - and I'm not exaggerating. The atrium area gets so crowded for shows that you cannot even ...
This ship is big and the reviews weren’t great but I found the food very good with lots of variety and fresh fruit. The shows were excellent but the bad did not outweigh the good. The ship is noisy with no place to sit and read. There was not much to do on sea days, in the evenings there were shows but in the daytime it was just drinking and gambling which I don’t do.
We missed the Bermuda ...
My entire family of six sailed on the Getaway to the Caribbean to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We had a great time because it was the first time the family has cruised together, and it was an altogether new experience for my son and grandson. Weather prevented us from visiting Bermuda, but we did get to St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. I ...
First the positives. The staff!! The staff were helpful and friendly. From the dining staff to the room stewards and everyone else. They were so good that I added a tip to my already prepaid tips. My room was comfortable and spacious. I was glad I opted for a large balcony with chaise lounges. The specialty restaurants were good. I enjoyed my meals at the Tropicana, especially with the ...
I chose to go on Norwegian getaway because I had went a few years prior and the experience was a good one. I decided to take a trip with two of my friends January 27, 2024 not knowing what we were walking into. The staff along with the people vacationing on the boat were not the nicest, this was a 10 day cruise and after being on for a few days and talking to multiple people, we found out that ...
NCL Getaway review 27/01/24 – 06/02/24 Cruise
It’s been 20 years since our fist cruise onboard Carnival Triumph, so since 2023 was our 50th anniversary we decided to give this one a shot since it left from New York.
NCL Getaway 10 day all inclusive cruise from New York. Ports of call were Bermuda, St. Maarten, US Virgin Ils., Porto Rico, and Puerto Plata DR.. Bermuda had to be missed ...
This is my second cruise. I’m not an expert. My first cruise was a 4-day Mexico vacation on Royal Caribbean (RC). My wife and I wanted to get away. We picked Norwegian gateway out of New Orleans to go to the Caribbean.
Embarkation day went smoothly, we picked a 2:30PM time slot and it took about 15 min between arriving at the terminal and getting on the ship.
Our room (regular balcony) was ...
We chose a cruise to go to the Bahamas, Cozumel, Belize, and Rotoan. The itinerary changed three times. First two, changing days around. I was told I now needed a passport to get into Belize so no problem my wife and I spent almost $600 expediting passports. Sure enough, they cancel Belize (the only reason we booked this cruise) and add Costa Maya…fine it happens. Next, they canceled the Bahamas ...
