My husband and I cruise often with NCL. This was our second time on the Escape. It was my sister and brother-in-law's first cruise on NCL. They were impressed with the ship, staff, and overall activities.
My sister and I have Celiac disease and must be on a gluten-free diet. As always, I requested a gluten-free diet. I never had a problem until this cruise. At the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet, ...
First time on Prima. Pretty ship, light and airy. Cabins very nice. Continue to maintain that people make the ship and NCL people are the best. Some of concepts smaller which makes it harder to gain reservation. Los Lobos great. Plenty of exciting things to do on sea days and truly getting on and off ship in all ports extremely easy. This trip there were no tenders so that was even better. ...
Room: I was in a solo cabin. Lots of space. Despite the lack of windows, did not feel closed off and claustrophobic. The bathroom especially the shower was amazing.
Restaurants: Loved the Indulge food hall. Lots of ethnic food options, but open only limited hours. The buffet was a madhouse and food was very very very mediocre, No options for vegetarians, vegans. Items not labaled as ...
We just got back from a 7 day Carribean cruise that left from Galveston. Definitely take a taxi to the port - would have never found out how to get there on our own. We did the park and cruise package with Holiday Inn Superdome. Taxi was $15 to the port.
Since this was our first cruise we can't compare to other lines or cruises. The boarding process seemed efficient to me. Once on board it ...
We chose this cruise as we wanted to see Bermuda. Unfortunately the weather meant we couldn’t dock there which is understandable but as it appears to be a regular issue NCL should warn you beforehand.
We were fortunate to have a Haven cabin and with a separate lounge and bedroom it was fantastic. Very well appointed with lots of room and loads of storage. The bed was fantastic - so comfortable ...
We had a fantastic cruise on the Prima. It all comes down to traveling with reasonable expectations. The ship is large and it hosts a lot of people. So, on sea days most places are busier than usual. However, we never had issues finding quiet corners. We also never had any issues getting food. There are many complementary food options. My personal favorite place for all meals was The Local. The ...
My wife and I have taken 10 cruises in the last 19 years. This was our 3rd NCL cruise. We selected this one as we wanted to experience new-to-us Caribbean islands and St. Lucia in particular, as it’s described as Hawaiian-like (a favorite, albeit, far away destination). We were delighted by the idea of sailing on a new ship, and followed news about its construction and initial sailings in Europe. ...
Ncl has been our go to cruise line. We have tried others but usually prefer NCL. We are a couple in our 60’s, this was our 40th cruise We were traveling with another couple that had never been on NCL. Getting away from -19 temps in Nebraska
Getting on the ship in San Juan was fast other than my husbands card didn’t work to board so he had to go back to get another. We boarded at 1:30 so our ...
I've found you either love cruising, or try it and find that cruising is not for you. We fall into the former bucket and have been on 20 odd cruises over the years. We've sailed with NCL, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess, and generally find more similarities than differences across lines. That said, we tend to prefer NCL.
My wife and I sailed on the Epic not long after it was first ...
Our first time on prima class. We sailed in the Haven and really enjoyed the experience. There are some pros and cons with this ship class while sailing in the Haven. Below are specific to the Haven experience and complex
Pros
-The layout of the entire complex being in the aft of the ship creates the true ship within a ship experience
-The layout of the public space is convenient and ...
