Itinerary was excellent. Lisbon to Miami 19 days. Excellent ports of call full of history and geography and culture.
All of the staff on board SUN is wonderful. Assistant Cruise Director Carlisa is very friendly and welcoming.
During the renovations NCL added extra specialty restaurants which are not up to NCL standard. Moderno restaurant has very poor table service. Salad selection is ...
Sun’s Transatlantic crossing in April 2023 was advertised online so we booked and paying our deposit in our NCL online account. This is where the first problems started, we seemed to be charged additional fee when ever we booked on specialities dinners (part of the original cruise package) or add and pay for shore excisions. At lease three times we had to call the Florida office to get these ...
We had an excellent time aboard NCL Sun boarding in Tenerife and cruising to Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Agadir, Casablanca, Ceuta, Malaga, Cadiz & ending in Lisbon.
Having sailed on NCL Sun in 2017 in South America, we decided to sail again this year when a great deal & itinerary came up. We booked the whole package with NCL including flights and transfers.
Everything went smoothly from start ...
We booked this cruise solely because of Rio. I knew that it was an older ship, but really didn't realize the big difference compared to newer ships. There was little to do. The TV in the cabin was almost worthless. The showroom was only used for the evening show. Nothing ever during the day like lectures, movies, or anything interesting. The food was not very good. The afternoon buffet carving for ...
The itinerary appealed…Lisbon,Madeira, Canaries, Gibraltar, Malaga and Cadiz. The Sun didn’t seem to cope as well with the Atlantic swell as other ships we’ve been on.
Food generally excellent, los lobos was disappointing. Restaurants mostly quieter than on other cruises, I do wonder if it’s because of the “à la carte” pricing adopted by NCL which has dramatically pushed up the cost. ...
Generally good itinerary, with particular highlights being Madeira, Lanzarote, Malaga and Cadiz. Could do with longer at Cadiz, and prepare yourself for choppy weather on the 1st sea day. However, what brings the score down is the ship itself. The Sun is one of the smaller vessels, and often you have to navigate through other public area to get to your destination, the spa is particularly ...
Our cruise began and ended in Malaga in March 23. We went to Cadiz, Lisbon, Madeira, the Canary Islands and Gibraltar. The weather started off wet but it got very hot in Madeira. There were passengers joining the cruise at every port and disembarking too.
The ports were all lovely except Gran Canaria and Tenerife. Just big towns.
We had an inside cabin. The bed was extremely comfortable and ...
Sailed on the ncl sun from lisbon to the canary islands and while the cruise was ok it was far from great. time after time we saw little things that showed a lack of attention to detail. there were many examples. the cabin stewards filled the halls with cleaning equipment early each morning and it stayed there unused until late in the day. there were no washcloths. there was no towel animal! ...
Mainly because my Asian cruise was canceled and a mess in aviation I chose this cruise to a warm destination and closer to home.
The N. Sun was the smallest ship I ever traveled on. There was not much on board and the singers and dancers were below any expectations. Also most of the shops, bars and entertainment staff were not as brilliant as I had on other ships. Despite the recent ...
My partner and I chose this cruise to escape UK weather and in that respect it was a success. The weather was pleasant and warm for the 10 day cruise. I suspect if the weather had not been so pleasant my view of the cruise itself would be less forgiving.
Positives:
We were on the ship within 10 minutes of arriving at the terminal in Lisbon and our luggage was delivered within 1 hour. ...
