We chose this cruise due to itinery for a reasonable deal. We stayed 3 nights in Boston at the marriott on arrival which was good. On ship the buffet was poor quality and lacked choice so we ate in the various dining rooms which was excellent and staff lovely. The shows were OK but not great. Entertainment in the individual bars were better. Our only complaint was one out of our 3 trips to Peggy's ...
As we had to find an alternative to another canceled cruise - and had our heart set on this region - we decided to give NCL a chance. This was our 21st cruise, but our first with NCL - which we thought we could compare with MSC or Celebrity (and not with other luxury companies that we have also cruised with before). We knew a lot about the history of the ship and felt we had some idea of what we ...
We chose this cruise primarily due to the itinerary, but really enjoyed the Joy. This was the largest-capacity ship we've sailed on so we were a little concerned about being with such a big crowd, but it wasn't really an issue. Most cabins were sold out so I believe the ship was at it's double-occupancy capacity, although only a handful of kids so not as crowded as it can be.
We could always ...
NCL & why I will never cruise with them again.
Currently on the Norwegian Joy.
I’m not inviting comments. No I did not know about these things before I cruised as it was purchased as part of a package. Yes I’ve cruised many time with numerous other cruise lines.
Yes may not all be correct as could have not found things .
Yes I will take certain items up with customer services and ...
The ship was nice and the food was very good. Our stateroom was well laid out with a starboard balcony. The workers were super friendly. We enjoyed five of the six ports. The shows that we were able to get into were excellent, but there were nights when we had nothing to do because we couldn't get reservations and the bars were packed.
I'm really going to write about what we didn't like ...
We did almost the same itinerary in 2018 on the Escape and loved it, this trip added Newport R.I. Check-in and boarding was a breeze, no issues at all. Balcony stateroom was just as expected and perfectly clean. The steward was polite and made sure we were taken care of.
Dining was great, no issues at all with service or quality of the food. Dinner twice at La Cucina, once at Cagney's and ...
Just off the cruise today and my overriding feeling is that this could have been a lot better experience with not a lot of effort from ncl. The issues being Embarking and disembarking at MCT. Thousands of cruisers coming off the ship mixing with loads of cruisers arriving and everyone squeezing through a narrow exit. Not only cruisers, there are unfortunately about 30 or so scam taxi drivers ...
We (3 couples) chose this cruise for the canada/new england/fall foliage itinerary. The norweigen pearl is in great shape and the stateroom was comfortable and adequately served (once per day.) service on board was very good, a friendly and helpful staff by and large. Meals in the main dining room were very good, as was the specialty restaurant, la cucina. I didn't enjoy the teppanyaki dining: ...
I went with some friends celebrating a big birthday while at sea. It was my first cruise experience and I was very disappointed. My friends are experienced cruisers and they have a good frame of reference for the cleanliness, service and amenties and they too were disappointed. Our cabin was tiny and storage was nil. I had to live out of my suitcase shoved under the bed for a significant amount ...
Went with a group celebrating Sept. Anniversaries. Decided to go out of Baltimore, Md, our home port. Had a great cruise pkg, included air fare deal, or so we thought, 2 couples had the airfare deal, the rest didn't, poor communication on the part of the Norwegian booking agent, alot of issues there. The ship was clean the cabin stewards were great, the waiters and waitresses were awesome the ...
