Worse food that I ever ate on a cruise.

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Sky

The BOGO airfare worked well for us. Check in was a breeze. Our ocean view room was fine & kept clean. We enjoyed the entertainment. All the servers, bar tenders & personnel went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. Two of our ports were cancelled in Halifax & St John due to weather. We had an extra sea day & stop in Portland MA. Also we couldn't tender in Martha's Vineyard. ...

Review of NCL Sky, from Quebec City to Baltimore, October 2023, with suggestions for port activities

After more than 30 years of cruising on all the major cruise lines, I now think that Norwegian Cruise Lines has become the best value in the industry, especially for those who prefer to cruise solo.  While legacy cruise lines seem hostile to singles (usually charging solos 200%, but couples get a discount on the second passenger), NCL is the opposite and offers solo cruisers regular cabins with no ...

I give it 4 stars, but there were plenty of aggravations

Let me start with a broad statement; I really am not crazy about the NCL Breakaway and similar ships. I've done Breakaway, Bliss and now Escape (my wife has also done Joy). I absolutely hate that the Atrium is the place for virtually all "game shows" and on cooler weather cruises, is the site of the glow party and other dance parties. IT IS TOO SMALL. The Escape doesn't have an alternative ...

Good First Time Cruise

We chose NCL based on word of mouth from reviews and family. We wanted to leave from New York and we're hoping to visit Canada. We had already visited some of the places on the itinerary so top advantage of those days to explore the Escape since it was our first cruise. We stayed in a Balcony Suite on the 12th floor and were very pleased with the size and comfort of the room. You did not feel ...

Day one, check in there was no greeter when entering terminal. We had to figure out on our own that the burly guy loading luggage onto carts was for our cruise. No signs anywhere. We had to ask if this was for our cruise. We gave him our luggage. They did not weigh our luggage so the 50lb limit was not checked. Entered terminal and followed greeters that were inside. Check in was fine and quick. ...

I'm a 66 YO solo cruiser who hasn't sailed since the start of the recent pandemic. My last cruise was aboard the Coral Princess in Feb '20, sailing from Santiago, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I booked this cruise for several reasons: 1. I haven't visited New England and Eastern Canada since the mid-70s, when I toured the region with a special needs group; 2. I wanted to sail from a port city ...

We chose this cruise due to itinery for a reasonable deal. We stayed 3 nights in Boston at the marriott on arrival which was good. On ship the buffet was poor quality and lacked choice so we ate in the various dining rooms which was excellent and staff lovely. The shows were OK but not great. Entertainment in the individual bars were better. Our only complaint was one out of our 3 trips to Peggy's ...

Great trip on the Joy (NYC to Quebec City)

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Joy

We chose this cruise primarily due to the itinerary, but really enjoyed the Joy. This was the largest-capacity ship we've sailed on so we were a little concerned about being with such a big crowd, but it wasn't really an issue. Most cabins were sold out so I believe the ship was at it's double-occupancy capacity, although only a handful of kids so not as crowded as it can be. We could always ...

As we had to find an alternative to another canceled cruise - and had our heart set on this region - we decided to give NCL a chance. This was our 21st cruise, but our first with NCL - which we thought we could compare with MSC or Celebrity (and not with other luxury companies that we have also cruised with before). We knew a lot about the history of the ship and felt we had some idea of what we ...

Why I will not cruise with NCL again

NCL & why I will never cruise with them again. Currently on the Norwegian Joy. I’m not inviting comments. No I did not know about these things before I cruised as it was purchased as part of a package. Yes I’ve cruised many time with numerous other cruise lines. Yes may not all be correct as could have not found things . Yes I will take certain items up with customer services and ...
