I was attracted to the Boston departure in early September 2019, I wrongly thought we would enjoy more pool time and sun - instead we dodged hurricane Dorian and missed Bar Harbor and Halifax on our first leg.
The service was outstanding, the ship was easy to navigate, and public areas and activities were never crowded. The late show in the theater was never more than 2/3 full so you could ...
We are in our 60s. We took the cruise because we wanted to visit new places up North before it got too cold. We knew no kids would be onboard as school started that week.
So 8/31/19 12-day cruise was a Grandma & Grandpa crowd. Entertainment was great, & staterooms too. But food onboard gets a 3 out of 5. Soups were poor. Brown watery cream of mushroom soup. Minestrone was not a soup but a clear ...
The major reason for choosing this cruise was because of how convenient it was...however after sailing with NCL I will def choose this cruise again for a variety of reasons.
The Gem is a smaller/older ship but very "user" friendly, esp. when traveling with older people.
Our our balcony cabin was a little on the smaller size but always clean, towels replaced, etc.
The Grand ...
My husband & I took this cruise with our 3 grown children & our son's fiancee. 4 of us had taken the same cruise in 2016 on the Norwegian Dawn. We all had a great time in Bermuda - we went to Elbow Beach & Horseshoe Bay and we went Helmet Diving with Hartley's and snorkling with Rising Son. (It's much cheaper to book the excursions yourself than to do it through the cruise line. The food on the ...
The Gem is a little older then many. We did however have a wonderful experience over all. 1 caveat, was there was a great deal of time to get your food in the "specialty restaurants" average was almost 2 hours to complete a meal. The food was decent but I would stick with the buffets if you value your time.
Entertainment was good, Kids club kept my 12 year happily occupied.
Ports and ...
Went to Bermuda on our Honeymoon so it seem a good idea to return with the whole family to mark our 50 years of marriage . Had a great time and all got to enjoy their interests - from fishing - sightseeing - shopping - swimming - snorkeling . The all included my 3 children their spouses and our 6 grandchildren. Everyone loved the on board entertainment and the grandchildren loved eating dinner ...
Nirwegian offered $50 towards shore excursions daily. We found that Norwegian upped the prices so high on these excursions if you booked through them that the $50 wasn't even a factor and pretty worthless.I took my whole family of 5 on shore excursions using buses and taxis in Bermuda which was very easy and saved 100's of dollars ! Very disappointed in this aspect of the cruise being it was ...
We went on a cruise from Boston to Bermuda from July 19 through July 26, 2019. We had an air conditioner leaking on our bed for three days. Customer service tried to say they attempted to fix it but I had to the do not disturb sign on, which was a complete fabrication. While in port in Bermuda they were polyurethanIng. my room through the air-conditioning vent, got flooded with the fumes and woke ...
We have cruised to Bermuda out of Boston for many years, and we are Platinum members, cruising toward the Platinum plus level. We love this cruise so much, we got married on the Majesty (remember that ship?). St George is as lovely as always. Tobacco beach, churches, streets, shops, wench dunking, locals....We revisit there every time. I sometimes sit on the common and imagine the Majesty docked ...
We picked this cruise because it was out of Boston which meant no air fare needed.
Getting on an off the ship was easy.
Service, entertainment an dining was amazing
Cabin location with balcony was perfect. Balcony was large enough for family to hang out on.
I would go again.
Bermuda was a beautiful island. It was easy to get around.
Staff was always very pleasant and ...
