Just an average cruise

Just to start, my family and I are typically Haven-ites when it comes to NCL but we did not have the opportunity this time. The main objective was to visit New England states and Canada. We booked a family club suite (M4) and also the Vibe. We like the exclusivity from the bigger crowds. Upon boarding, we decided on Osheehan's for lunch and wings were on our minds. They were baked and not well ...

Hard to complain since this cruise was purchased as a Christmas gift from our daughter however... 1) Never allow NCL to make travel arrangements...flights, transfers, etc. Yours will a long uncomfortable journey. We arrived in Newark to be greeted by an absolute circus...insufficient busses, lack of manpower to load luggage, and a driver that took the wrong tunnel to Manhattan. The port was ...

sailed out of ny to maine and canada. it took over an hour to get on the ship, and the rooms were not ready until 3 pm. we were in a mini suite and recieved none of the extras we were suppose to get. , daily treats, coffee and tea maker, robes, pre cruise reservations. the only thing we got was a bottle of wine. went to guest services , the worst experiance on any ship i have been on ( 8 cruises). ...

Lovely experience when you manage expectations

Was surprised at all the poor reviews of this ship. We had a wonderful experience. Middle aged couple with 40+ cruises, Platinum Status on NCL. We love the older ships because they look and feel like actual ships and we tend to avoid the new and glitzy 'floating hotels'. No shade, just a preference. The ship is 23 years old and clearly a 'training ship'. A lot of staff stated it was their ...

Baltimore: This was the first every NCL cruise from Baltimore and our first cruise on NCL (or from Baltimore). 10 days from Baltimore to Quebec with stops in Martha's Vineyard, Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, Saguenay, Quebec City (fly back from Montreal). Baltimore is both the closest port to us and by far the most chill. Super easy access. We parked at a hotel with ...

Awful experience - cruiser beware

We were on the sailing from NYC to Halifax, St John’s, Portland and Bar Harbors. Unbeknown to us there was an Irish Folk Music Festival group on our cruise. It ruined the trip. Many of the venues were closed and night and throughout the day to accommodate the group. Venues that we would have liked to use but were not allowed to. While the majority of the people that we met in the Irish Group ...

New England and Canada Cruise from New York

This cruise was chosen to be a great way to see Canada and a few Maine ports. Overall, the cruise left a lot to be desired. As I read the last two reviews of this cruise, I am in full agreement. On the cruise, a group of 1000+ passengers were part of a group called Joanie Madden. They were on board for an Irish music cruise. This was never disclosed to any of the other passengers prior to ...

Ports of call were great; experience on ship, not so much

I have to echo most of what Thompsonhooisers shared in their review. There was a large Irish folk group, Joannie Madden, which reserved most of the public spaces, therefore closing access to any other passenger. This included many of the bars and the premium spaces on the Waterfront at sunset. Had we been made aware by NCL in advance, we would have changed to a different cruise. There were ...

Very LOUD games in public areas below were very annoying during dinner at Lotus Garden and O'Sheehans

Always wanted to visit Nova Scotia so we chose this cruise for our 50th Anniversary. Our primary issue was the VERY LOUD games and music from the public areas below O'Sheehan's and the Lotus Garden restaurants. Decided to dine often at the very quiet dining room at the rear of the ship. Excellent service and meal choices. O'Cagney's Steak House was also excellent. No Irish beer at ...

NCL Pearl Cruise Enjoyable, But Somewhat Disappointing.

We live in SE MA, less than an hour's drive from Boston, and had been wanting to sail this itinerary for some time, as we wouldn't need to fly. The embarkation day was rainy & dreary, but as we are Platinum members, we at least didn't have to wait too long to board. Our cruise routine is to never eat in the buffet on embarkation or disembarkation days...it always seems too busy, plus you ...
