Returned yesterday from New England 8 Day Cruise. Where to begin with issues. First, our Mini-suite is more like a coffin with a bath, not nearly as nice as RC Jr. Suites. Day 2, locked out of cabin (as were several others on our deck). I have been on 5 cruises previously with 4 different cruiselines (including Disney, Princess, and Royal Carribean). My experience on Norwegian Gem was by far the worst.
1. The stateroom is poorly designed, with no outlets near the head of the bed. Family members with CPAP machines had to run extension cords across the entire room to be able to use their medical device.

We sailed on the Jewel to Alaska in July and were disappointed in the ship and food, but gave NCL one more try. We were so excited about the ports for the Northeast Canada sailing, but we missed two ports - and didn't have to miss them!

After 18 NCL cruises we decided this was the worst one!
The problem of being on so many cruises with NCL creates an automatic comparison on overall and on particular events. Lets face it the cruise director and his second banana are beginners in training. The ordeal started in port. The boat was six hours late to dock due to tropical storm Dorian...Ok, not much can be done about that except, maybe a heads up from NCL. Too much to ask for I guess. Don’t go near this cruise line you are warned. Utterly Utterly hopeless unless you want cold food , cold t and coffee, served on cold plates with order that belong to other people.
