We decided to celebrate our 50th anniversary by taking a cruise. Since this was our first cruise, I did a lot of research and Norwegian seemed the best fit because it provided options. The overall cruise exceeded our expectations. The ship was very well maintained and clean. Our cabin was a bit smaller than I expected and I was very grateful we had a balcony. The food was amazing! I have ...

The service on this ship was the very best I have ever experienced. Additionally, all of the staff were very friendly. We did not eat in the buffet but dined in all but one of the specialty restaurants - each was wonderful - food, ambiance and service - all wonderful. The ship is very smartly designed - meaning you will find getting around it quite easy. On this cruise, the average age was 63 ...

Excellent Cruise

The overall cruise was excellent. The N.Y. Manhattan Terminal can use improvement. Embarking was crowded with long lines but they did move.It took us about 45 minutes but friends who arrived 30 minutes earlier said it took them 20 minutes. Disembarking was easier but the terminal itself is awkward to get around and you have to cross 12th Avenue traffic and a bike/running lane to get to the taxi ...

I love the Norwegian Gem and all it has to offer. I picked this cruise for the itinerary and the bonus was the ship itself! The crew and officers were very accommodating and friendly. The Captain offered a separate meeting with our Meet and Greet group in the bridge viewing room and he spent 45 minutes with us answering our questions and just having a conversation about cruising. The overall ...

I had hoped to pick the time the leaves would be colorful; however, New England/Canada leaves don't appear to start changing colors until early October. We also chose this cruise because getting to and from New York City is a non-stop flight and because of the 3 bedroom Haven villa arrangement since we were traveling with family members. We like the layout of the Gem/Jade/Pearl Norwegian ...

Norwegian Gem - USA/Canada 7 day Cruise - Great Value and Experience

We bought this cruise as a package deal having seen it advertised in a newspaper and seemingly a good buy. We had never been on a cruise before and were going to celebrate a significant birthday with close friends. So a little bit apprehensive about the cruise being a huge crowd old aged pensioners, being bored whilst at sea, trapped in bad room with no option to change etc. However, we ...

Gem still a great ship

Gem has been a favorite ship of mine for years. The size promotes friendly interactions. The food and service is always excellent. The entertainment is typical of other ships but not as professional as say Breakaway. Gem is a great ship to get away and relax for a week. Budget cuts have had an effect on the extras included, or used to be included. Room service has a service fee and the specialties ...

This was my husbands first cruise and he enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the Norwegian cruise line. We enjoyed meals in many of the different dinning rooms and enjoyed them all.We attended many of the shows and were pleased with them all. The initial embarkation was smooth and we enjoyed familiarizing our selves with the ship and crew. Debarkation at all ports of call when well. The excursions ...

Embarkation in Boston was very easy. Arrived at the port at 10:15. Was through check in and in the holding area by 10:30. Staff at port directing cruisers to the appropriate holding areas seemed a bit overwhelmed. Perhaps they could have had a bit more help. As we are Gold latitudes members, we boarded son after all special needs and Platinum members, at around 11:45 or so. Went to our ...
