Just off the cruise today and my overriding feeling is that this could have been a lot better experience with not a lot of effort from ncl. The issues being Embarking and disembarking at MCT. Thousands of cruisers coming off the ship mixing with loads of cruisers arriving and everyone squeezing through a narrow exit. Not only cruisers, there are unfortunately about 30 or so scam taxi drivers ...
i chose this cruise hoping to see some fall foliage and the ports were either new for me or interesting stops in New England. We were a group of four and took the airfare offer thru Norwegian. I didn't realize that Norwegian would not notify us of our scheduled flight until about 30 days before the sale date. That was stressful as we didn't know what we could schedule on our day in Quebec City, ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary - figured September in Canada would be smooth sailing with lovely foliage... um, wrong! But who can blame mother nature for giving us a hurricane in Nova Scotia in September. Ok, so forgiving the horrible weather (so grey, so bleak, and nasty waves), we give the overall cruise experience a "meh" for just ok.
This was our first NCL and we felt woefully ...
This is our first cruise with NCL (not counting a charted NCL cruise many years ago). I am sorry to say we are disappointed. The food selection in the Garden Cafe (the main dining room) was limited and basically stayed the same throughout the 7 day cruise. The qualify of the food is also mediocre. We tried all the complementary restaurants as well and found the same thing with regard to food ...
First of all our NCL agent put us on different decks. We were supposed to be next door to each other. My sister was traveling alone. We called the agent from the ship and she said we booked at different times. I don't know where the confusion came but this was a bad start.
ENTERTAINMENT; We were looking forward to the show Footloose and got up early to book it ahead of time. Well on the first ...
We have been cruising Canada & New England three times before. But since we bought $1,000 worth of the CruiseNext coupon we decided to give us a break by booking this cruise and enjoy it leisurely. Oh boy, leisurely it indeed it was.
We heard the captain announced from the bridge that the ship will skip Bar Harbor and Helifax, going straight to St. John, NB directly, then it will sail ...
We decided to take NCL Joy to New England & Canada because we were impressed with how well the ship was run when we were on it the end of May 2023 to Bermuda. There must have been a complete change in crew because it was so disorganized! We booked a family suite with virtual balcony for the two of us. 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms & a sitting area. Like a little apartment! Loved it, except the cabin was ...
Hard to complain since this cruise was purchased as a Christmas gift from our daughter however...
1) Never allow NCL to make travel arrangements...flights, transfers, etc. Yours will a long uncomfortable journey. We arrived in Newark to be greeted by an absolute circus...insufficient busses, lack of manpower to load luggage, and a driver that took the wrong tunnel to Manhattan. The port was ...
Always wanted to visit Nova Scotia so we chose this cruise for our 50th Anniversary. Our primary issue was the VERY LOUD games and music from the public areas below O'Sheehan's and the Lotus Garden restaurants. Decided to dine often at the very quiet dining room at the rear of the ship. Excellent service and meal choices. O'Cagney's Steak House was also excellent. No Irish beer at ...
We live in SE MA, less than an hour's drive from Boston, and had been wanting to sail this itinerary for some time, as we wouldn't need to fly.
The embarkation day was rainy & dreary, but as we are Platinum members, we at least didn't have to wait too long to board. Our cruise routine is to never eat in the buffet on embarkation or disembarkation days...it always seems too busy, plus you ...
