I've been on 20+ cruises and this is my 7th NCL cruise to Bermuda. So many of the fun aspects of cruising have disappeared in NCL's most recent exercise in corporate greed. I think it's time for me to take a break from NCL. So many passengers I spoke with informed me that Royal Caribbean and even the newer Carnival ships are a much better experience than this NCL Gem cruise.
* First of all, ...
We chose this cruise due to itinery for a reasonable deal. We stayed 3 nights in Boston at the marriott on arrival which was good. On ship the buffet was poor quality and lacked choice so we ate in the various dining rooms which was excellent and staff lovely. The shows were OK but not great. Entertainment in the individual bars were better. Our only complaint was one out of our 3 trips to Peggy's ...
I'm not the biggest cruiser, but compared to others, this cruise was pretty average. What made it below average for us was our three kids. The amenities were pretty abysmal, especially for kids. My kids were bored! They would post hours for activities and then not have them open at the appointed time. They closed down areas like the basketball court at 5pm. Onboard games like shuffleboard and ...
I have traveled with Norwegian Cruises over several years the took 2 in 2019. COVID hit and did not book until this year. That being said, I was disappointed in the changes made on the Cruise to Bermuda. Many of the details that made Norwegian special had disappeared. No turning down of the bed at night, no creating of animals with the towels, only 3 rolls with dinner for a table with 4 people ...
My husband booked this cruise for our 10-year wedding anniversary. We have cruised with 2 other cruise lines and had great expectations from NCL only to be disappointed. If you are Black /African American, this is not the cruise line for you. The entertainment does not include very much for the black race especially during the day. The 80"s theme party that is in the disco plays no music from ...
We chose Norwegian Pearl because we could park and leave from Boston. That being said getting on to cruise was easy, gate staff was wonderful and helpful. The ship looked pretty , the bartenders were short staffed which caused for very very long wait times for cocktails, the selection of activities on ship left a lot to be desired. The repetition of acts became very boring.
The food was ok , we ...
This cruise was put together by a friend in celebration of her husband's life (he passed last year). I have never been so disappointed in a ship/cruise as I was this time. And we have cruised over 10 times on various lines. The major problem was that our hot water kept going off so cold showers were the only option until the plumber got there - 3 TIMES! Then the toilet in our cabin started to ...
I chose this cruise because I didn’t want to fly to do a cruise with a 2 year old. They had a “gupppy room” which is 10x 7ft closet with dirty playmats (ABC ones). They had like 20 plastic balls and one plastic horse. It was very hard to find and is next to a High Voltage closet. It was an absolute joke! Also on the ferry to st George that NCL provides, they would not allow those with strollers to ...
I chose this cruise because it left from my home port of Boston, and it was a 7 day cruise with 2.5 full days in Bermuda ...my happy place. The schedule was great.. arrive on sunday afternoon and leave at 7 am on Wednesday. Not to mention NCL historically has been my favorite line.
I could complain about the weather.. it was too cold to be outside to enjoy the sail away party... and Saturday ...
Embarkation was confusing due to discrepancies with Bermuda rules for testing. It it 4 days in advance. NCL - 3 days. On NCL webpage you can find statement - county rules supersedes NCL. Not so. You have to be careful there. Food was ok but very little selection. For breakfast- the same thing every day - eggs mostly . Entertainment- so so. One level above Caribbean resorts, especially on deck and ...
