I have cruised with Norwegian 10s of times of the years and I get the feeling they are either failing as a cruise line or have become stagnant. There was nothing exciting about this recent voyage, the food menu and the entertainment hasn't changed for years. The ships looking old and tired, many patched up carpets and a lot of rust, its almost like they are not keeping on top of the ...
I usually read others posting and think the criticism is a bit much, but I could not help but report many issues that occurred while on our latest cruise to Bermuda from Boston. This cruise took place from November 4th to November 11th. Let me preface my following comments with the fact that my wife and I are dedicated cruisers with NCL having achieved Platinum Status and are Stock Shareholders in ...
Embarkation
Very smooth. The line seemed long at Manhattan Cruise Terminal. But it moved fast with minimal wait time. After check in, we were directed to our assembly station first. Once we confirmed we have watched the safety video, we were free to go. We went to Garden Cafe to grab lunch while waiting for our stateroom to be available. All staterooms were available before we finished lunch. ...
Did not think the cruise was as good as when the Norwegian Excape cruised out of NYC. We did the Excape twice. However, the room was very nice and clean and the Steward was great. The bed , however, was hard as a rock. My wife had to ask for a foam cushion and to boot we took the bed cover and added that on top of the foam. Thannk God we were cruising south in warm weather and could sleep with ...
I received an offer for a free cruise from Casinos at sea, so I figured why not. I have sailed with NCL many times and have always been completely satisfied, however this ship is different. It was beautiful and some of the things were great, such as the cabins were spacious and had plenty of storage. The food was outstanding, no matter where you ate. I was on deck 16 with a balcony, but there was ...
Overall, the ship was beautiful, we stayed in the Haven but I don’t think we would choose to sail on this ship again.
The lack of vegan food in the Haven, at the buffets, dining rooms, in room service and speciality restaurants were severly disappointing. The Haven there was a vegan menu, but you have to order it in advance they said up to 24 hours which is absolutely ridiculous. Some people ...
In a nut shell, NCL tried to cram all the venues on a Breakaway Plus ship into a much smaller ship. It’s a beautiful ship but it’s functionality is dismal. Everything from the Lobby, bars, buffet, the Improv etc…. are all much smaller and fill up rather quickly. Reservations go very quick. Way to many guests for a small ship with small venues. The layout of the decks were poorly arranged. Many ...
Overall good experience. They worked hard to keep rooms and ship clean and sanitized. There was always plenty of activities at sea on ship.
Drinks/alcohol expensive so make sure you purchase in your package with NCL direct.
Bermuda seemed like a beautiful island even though weather was not greatest.
Check out Royal Navy Dockyard, Hamilton, St. George. Eat at Sizzle ...
This is I think the 10th cruise I have taken and I have cruised multiple times on NCL, RCI, Celebrity, Disney and Carnival. This is my 1st trip since Covid so it's been a while. There is a lot of excellent and very good to tell you about but, mediocrity and (non-medically) dangerous will also be mentioned.
The ports were superb. It was my 1st time cruising into Va. Beach and the Wisconsin ...
Getting onto the cruise took a little longer than expected as it was line after line between checking Negative covid results and Passports. The cruise ship staff was Amazing and always so cheerful and helpful. The lack of staff in the public dining facilities was obvious. Pre-covid there were many many staff members in the Summer Palace or Indigo to assist. We had a party of 10 and the staff ...
