Prima -- To Sail or Not to Sail - That is the question! Is it a one-hit wonder or an epic fail!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We are experienced cruisers and -- typically -- are easy to please. I selected Norwegian Prima basically because I am a new travel planner, we had never been on Norwegian or to Bermuda, and -- if I'm going to sell it, I should experience it. Basically, we had a nice cruise -- the first one by ourselves! The ship's decor is pleasing to the eye, and Bermuda and its residents are so welcoming. We ...

Terrific Ship, terrible food

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

Embarkation was smooth and orderly. We were taken to a location for a quick lunch before we were able to go to our rooms. Our cruise had lots of preplanned entertainment so that part was an incredible experience. The theater is truly amazing and everything we saw there was excellent. The sound, lights and comfort of the seats was exceptional. Our room (2 bedroom family room) was perfection. ...

Beautiful ship, cramped design when weather is bad, lots of fees

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Every ship, even every cruise, has pros and cons. Let’s just say this ship is beautiful. The cabin was very spacious, including the bathroom. The shower was much bigger than your typical cabin shower. I understand the thought behind the “resort feel”. The execution is lacking, especially when it isn’t sunny. Conceptually, the design is for areas of no more than a few hundred capacity. When the ...

Our experience was mixed. We had a mostly decent time, but we probably won't seek this ship out again.

Embarkation: I'm not at all a fan of the NYC port set up which often results in lugging luggage from parking to actual pier moreso than other ports, but thats nothing to do with NCL let alone the Prima. Ultimately, once past the parking ($45 per day paid upfront) and luggage lugging (some folks apparently go by car to drop off luggage and then swing back to park, but you need to be familiar with ...

Not a good experience

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We went on this cruise because it was going to stop in Florida for a day and a half so My Wife could see her Sister. Well we were supposed to get in Port Canaveral by 1pm didn't get there until 10pm. So those plans got ruined. Next we went to their island in the Bahamas. We were supposed to to Bermuda from there and that got screwed over some excuse. There idea was to go to Nassau for the day. Ha! ...

The departure from NYC was convenient and went well. Having sailed several times with Norwegian we were quickly disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. Cup rings and greasy spots on furniture and bad smelling old bedding. Not a good start coming out of a pandemic. The staff was professional but seemed to have a lack luster attitude. Rooms are no longer serviced for turn down since the ...

Good value, good company, but not a great cruise

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Before the expansion and widening of the Panama Canal, there were dozens of cruise ships built sized just like the NCL Gem. These were Panamax vessels, the biggest ships that could go through the original locks. They were all a bit over 90K tons, around 965’ long, and sailed with around 2400 guests and 1100 crew. They were big enough to support two- and three-story main dining rooms, several ...

Disappointing First Cruise on the Norwegian Getaway!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

In looking for a reasonably priced Christmas Cruise we found the Dec. 18-23rd cruise to Bermuda on the Getaway. While we are loyal to Royal Caribbean (Diamond members) the dates fit our grandchildren’s Christmas break, offered activities they would enjoy, and a good price. It was very disappointing overall. The rope course, and racing water slides the grandkids would enjoy were not open any ...

Bad weather mars an otherwise good cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Epic

This was my second NCL cruise, my first being on the Getaway last November. I tended to find myself comparing the full cruise with the one last year, so I might as well do that in this review where relevant. Embarkation: This was fine - we flew from Heathrow on an early morning flight, and just about managed to survive the taxi transfer to the cruise terminal by the time embarkation was ...
