Breakaway out of NYC to Bermuda 2nd week of May!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This was my second time on the Breakaway in less than a year. Once in August with my teenagers, this time with my boyfriend. My hope was that the ship wouldn't be as crowded as last August and figured that the end of spring break season would help with this. The crowd was still large, just configured differently. Less children, more seniors. Our worst encounter with this was after the ...

Will Not Cruise with Norwegian Again!

This was the worst embarkation of any cruise I have ever been on. Boarding started at 11am and you had assigned times, but the lines were huge and the wait was in the bright sun on a very warm day in Miami. We were in line for over 4 hours before we were allowed to board. I had requested a wheelchair for my husband but the line of people waiting for those was also long and they seemed to have only ...

Big ship, not great if the weather isn't perfect

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

The Breakaway is a massive ship with tons of outdoor space to enjoy; and therein lies the problem when the weather is not good. Our cruise encountered mostly windy and overcast days with little heat or sunshine. This forced most of the passengers indoors, and the ship simply does not accommodate this well. Fortunately, we didn't go during a time when a lot of teenagers and children were on ...

We have cruised RCCL many, many times this was our first NCL cruise. We have also cruised Celebrity Embarkation was ok. Delayed a bit but that was probably due to passengers not following directions The ship itself was nice, clean comfortable Room steward was outstanding, probably the best we've had Service in specialty restaurants for dinner was very good Service in complimentary ...

Beautiful Ship and Beautiful Island!

This was our eighth cruise and we had a fun time! I just decided to write this review to point out a few pros and cons. This was our first cruise on a mega ship. I was thinking there would be long lines to contend with, especially since many reviews brought this problem up. That did only seem to be an issue when it came to embarkation and disembarkation. We loved all the specialty ...

Beautiful Ship, but Poor Service Very Disappointing

I chose this cruise based on past experience on Norwegian Breakaway. Arrival was poorly organized. Boarding delayed 1 hour past published start time, and the terminal was so crowded there was no place to sit ... passengers stood shoulder to shoulder being told to get out of the aisles, but there was no place to go. I stood from my 11:00 assigned arrival time until 1:30pm waiting to board. The ...

First Time Cruisers, NCL Breakaway to Bermuda, 4/23/16

We're first time cruisers (probably one and done), and these are my impressions of our time on the Breakaway…. Embarkation - Truly a nightmare. We embarked from NYC, and from the cabbie trying to get to the drop off area through to getting onto the boat, it was evident that whoever is in charge of organizing embarkation never took a course in Operations Management. The whole thing was loud ...

Probably Not Cruising Again

If total chaos at embarkation and waiting endlessly for drinks is your idea of fun, then this is the cruise for you. Embarkation was like Ellis Island circa 1895. Once on board, there was no one to give directions and people were completely confused. We had to miss one of the ports (Stirrup Cay) because of a storm and so we had an extra day at sea. Ho hum. The problem was that we were ...

Last Cruise on Norwegian

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

This was the 2nd cruise we had taken on Norwegian. We have cruised 2 other lines. Norwegian falls far below what I expect of a cruise. The bars were grossly understaffed, with a particularly long wait - 15 min or more - at the Topsiders bar by the pool. The Garden Cafe, which is the buffet restaurant, is not set up well, and is very difficult to maneuver. Instead of islands with food all ...

Not an NCL fan

To qualify, I am elite with Celebrity and Diamond with RCL. Only Silver with NCL so haven't been on this line often. Joined a friend who had already booked the Breakaway Bermuda leaving Manhattan 10/18/2015. As a solo traveler, I chose the NCL transportation and paid $49.00 each way. I later found out a Dial 7 taxi would have been $30.00. Lesson learned. When arriving at the airport I found the ...
