Breakaway: Mixed feelings

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Our family of 4 (children 10 & 12) cruised with NCL on the Breakaway on August 27. We have cruised before on 2 occasions on Disney Cruises, so this is what we had to compare our cruising experience. The ship is truly beautiful and offers a lot for the price paid. There are many restaurants to choose from, as well as plenty of activities to plead everyone. It is clean, food is very good, ...

Nice Ship, Poor Service

The ship was nice and th buffet great but the service at all restaurants was very poor. Every meal took over two hours! Guest services gave out incorrect information and there were always lines to get help. Rooms are nice. Only two shows on a 7 day cruise. Comedy show was terrible but Rock of Ages was great. In Bermuda the free ferry to St George's was very nice and made getting around cheaper ...

Would've been 4 stars, but..................

Arrival on ship was well organized. However, I can say that I am glad we got there early as the waiting area to get on the ship got crowded. They assign you a number 1-25 and they board you in that order basically. Except if you are in the Haven. I can honestly say that The Haven people are basically waited on hand and foot the entire time. This would be the benefit for paying twice the amount for ...

First time on NCL and it wasn't what I expected

I stayed in cabin 11503 a studio cabin for one. It's location wasn't great, it's right next to the studio lounge and apparently everyone slams the doors on entry, not only the one on the 11th floor but also the exit on the 10th is right below your head so you head it constantly being slammed. The gap between this cabin and the one next to it is piping so as soon as people start rising around 5am ...

Amazing Destination / Decent Ship

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Traveled to Bermuda on 8/18/2017 from Boston, MA on the NCL Dawn. We booked a balcony on the 10th level (Room 10088). The ship states that it was refurbished in ~2016, looking at the room one wouldn't think it was. We have been on 3 other cruise ships (Carnival, Royal Car, Princess), Royal Car being far superior room wise then all the rest. NCL was second followed by Princess and Carnival being ...

This cruise was selected to celebrate my son's 50th birthday with family & friends My husband & I thought there were to many children, running here and there and overall, just too many people!! The pool deck was so crowded with adults and children we couldn't enjoy this part of the cruise. Thankfully, we had a balcony. Speaking of the balcony, ours was above the shuffleboard and when trying ...

Breakaway from the Breakaway

They did not specifically announce "no smoking on balconies" so there were a bunch of smokers on the balconies- Despite complaining to guest services at least 4 times about the smoke coming into our state room - nothing was done. Instead of finding and reprimanding the smokers, they moved us to the other side of the ship- ABOVE THE BLISS CLUB. So we heard pounding every night until at least 1:30 ...

We wanted something for the whole family. We were traveling with a large group. My review is only based on my experience alone and not other family members. This review will be long, but I am going to cover mostly all aspects of my trip. The good, the bad and what to expect. I had not cruised in 20 years. The last time I was on a ship it was Celebrity Cruise lines in my late teens and ...

Long time NCL cruiser-disappointed for the first time.

I have been cruising exclusively on NCL for about 17 years, Latitudes Platinum status. For the first time in over 20 cruises, I was disappointed. It was my first time on the Breakaway and it felt like all they cared about was money, money, money. What happened to "all inclusive?" Everything costs extra. It's only all inclusive if you eat in the dining rooms, the buffet or O'Sheehan's Pub and ...

We are a group of 7. Three balconies together. Ages from 14 - 75. 4 in one room, 2 in another and 1 (me) in the last. The rooms are very cramped and balconies very. Small. The bed is almost flush against the closet. My daughters family of 4 just lived out of their suitcases instead of trying to put clothes in the closet. Room steward not too attentive to detail. Maybe because of the ship ...
