This is my second NCL cruise but ninth cruise overall. My first NCL cruise was in 2012, and during the past ten years I have sailed on Carnival, Royal and Princess six times total. I decided to sail the Joy to Bermuda because the ships looks nice on paper, and sailing from NY is convenient from my home base in Philadelphia.
Judging by the first three days of this cruise, I should have stayed ...
Wanted to go on a family cruise and heard good things about the Joy. The food was better than expected! We didn't make any of the shows because we were enjoying the entertainment pool side (especially the DJ's) and band's throughout the ship! But we we're looking forward to our cabin 10700 which definitely didn't disappoint. Cabin is very spacious with lot's of Closets and plenty of drawers for a ...
This cruise was a mixed bag with some weird things mixed in.
NYC to Norfolk VA to Bermuda.
Weird thing #1. Stop in VA canceled because of some sort of whale thing in VA. I guess it's whale season, and they don't want cruise ships going thru...maybe.... We never got any explanation.
Weird thing #2. One of the performers for the main show must have had some sort of accident, because ...
WIhy did I chose this cruise?
We like Norwegian, it has been our 5th cruise with NCL. We have been on Carnival, etc. Because of the location of cruising out of Boston to Bermuda it is the perfect cruise for us. Take a Lyft to the dock, ready to go.
Some things have changed over the years, one is adding Maine to the itinerary. Although we have gone off ship in Maine,, we are shoulder ...
I usually read others posting and think the criticism is a bit much, but I could not help but report many issues that occurred while on our latest cruise to Bermuda from Boston. This cruise took place from November 4th to November 11th. Let me preface my following comments with the fact that my wife and I are dedicated cruisers with NCL having achieved Platinum Status and are Stock Shareholders in ...
Embarkation
Very smooth. The line seemed long at Manhattan Cruise Terminal. But it moved fast with minimal wait time. After check in, we were directed to our assembly station first. Once we confirmed we have watched the safety video, we were free to go. We went to Garden Cafe to grab lunch while waiting for our stateroom to be available. All staterooms were available before we finished lunch. ...
Overall we had a great time! The service was exceptional, the food was the best we have had on cruise in a long time, and the bartenders were awesome. Elements is a must-see show. It was amazing and very engaging. Due to rough seas, they were not able to perform Footloose, which was a disappointment, but totally out of NCL's control. The comedy shows were entertaining and the Beatles ...
We have been waiting to sail again now that the travel restrictions have been lifted. We sailed with our parents and friends to Bermuda for our first time on the Joy. After we departed on a cloudy day we had wonderful weather for the rest of the trip. We found the ship to be very updated and clean considering it sails out of NYC, and a fair mix of passengers. The NCL brand is Free Style Cruising, ...
First off, our cruise was canceled, three times. This was a graduation present from my mom and her boyfriend (they got engage on the trip in Bermuda). Our original cruise was scheduled in August of 2020, and we were supposed to go with a friend and his family (who is now in college, so we ended up just going alone as a family). Upon entering the ship, it was clean, the staff was nice, but I became ...
Did not think the cruise was as good as when the Norwegian Excape cruised out of NYC. We did the Excape twice. However, the room was very nice and clean and the Steward was great. The bed , however, was hard as a rock. My wife had to ask for a foam cushion and to boot we took the bed cover and added that on top of the foam. Thannk God we were cruising south in warm weather and could sleep with ...
