This was the 7 night cruise from NYC to Bermuda. We were on the ship from Aug. 23, to Aug. 30, 2009. One of the nice things about being on this ship was most of the people on the ship were from the New York area. They were nice and friendly. We arrived at Pier 88 at 11 am. We had no problem checking in. We were Balcony so we were told to go to the front of the line. We had our room keys quickly. ...
My sister and I went on this cruise together and left the Hubbys at home. We shared a BA aft balcony 10230.
My first time on NCL, and it was better than expected, much better. The ship looked great to me, and I have only sailed on RCCL each time when the ship was brand new.
Cabin: Great location on deck 10. A quick trip up to the Garden Cafe, Spa, Gym. A quick trip down to the ...
My wife and I just returned from our 14th cruise and 7th NCL. We traveled with our children, ages 14 and 11. This was their 6th cruise. My parents, brother, sister-in-law,their three kids, sister and brother-in-law also were on-board. We all have cruised between 3-30 times on NCL and other lines. This was an opportunity to cruise from our home port on the NCL Spirit which is in its first season on ...
I sailed on the Dawn for the 4th time this past August and as usual had a wonderful time. I did read many of the bad reviews and as I used to be a cruise agent I feel a lot of the negative reviews stem from the passengers maybe not having the right expectations. Booking with an agent is the best way to ensure you know what you are getting.
That being said, my group had a wonderful time on ...
Firstly, in the weeks leading up to our Cruise Date we were reading the Ship Reviews on the Cruise Critic ( CC ) Web Site. Several very negative reviews ( 10 Worst Things ...; Don't Waste your Money ...; 7 Days I'll never get Back ...; amoung others had my wife & I worried that we had made a Big Mistake booking this vacation !!
After waiting a week to reflect on our experience in this review ...
First of all my family (4 girls and 1 boy 24years old to 13 years old) cruised in 2007 on the Dawn to the Bahamas and Bermuda . On that cruise my 2 youngest kids signed up for the Kids Club (ages 8-12)and were well supervised and we had to force them to spend some time with us, they always wanted to be at the club. Our cruise left N.Y. 4 hours late because of engine trouble, but the Dawn credited ...
Background Info: I'm a 19 year old guy who has never been on a cruise line in my life. This was my first cruise line in general and also with Norwegian Cruise Lines. I have to say that I was a little nervous before actually getting to the cruise terminal. However, the moment I stepped on that ship, I knew that I was in for an exciting vacation. And an exciting vacation I did have. It was more ...
I have to start this review by saying that the Dawn crew was great. They were constantly cleaning and very, very friendly. I enjoyed interacting with them as much as possible.
Getting on the ship was a breeze, it took all of about 20 minutes. We were a party of 12 (4 cabins) and after getting our key cards I was in the bathroom and they were boarding already!!
Our cabins were clean and ...
Embarkation: We drove from upstate NY to Boston. The port was easy to get to. Convenient parking. Police and NCL people have everything working smoothly. We checked our bags at 10:15, got in line at 10:30, and were on the ship by about 11:20. Simple. Public Rooms: We were very impressed with how clean the ship was. Well decorated with Asian flair. Never a mess anywhere. The variety of ...
From the very beginning of the embarkation process, we were pleased with the way the staff and crew handled the entire cruise. Having read many reviews on Cruise Critic, I have to say, I was a bit nervous about the decision to sail with NCL and the Freestyle Cruising concept. One of the biggest discussion points on previous reviews was the dinner menus. We sailed on the August 30th departure ...
