Well the worst thing about this cruise was how many people they pack on the ship. Forget swimming, getting in the hot tub, or getting a lounge chair unless you were outside by 7am. If you are a smoker.. this is definitely not the boat for you. Only 4 extremely small places to smoke on the entire ship. I got yelled at a few times for smoking on the wrong side of a lounge chair. I guess they figured it was safer to have 100 smokers packed around 6 small tables. Completely ridiculous. The food was terrible. First cruise I’ve been on where I lost weight. In 2 of the free dining rooms we had terrible service. Waited 30 mins for a dessert menu that never came one night, and 40 mins for appetizers of soup and salad another night. The waitstaff was either friendly but extremely too busy.. or very rude like they knew they were getting a 20% tip no matter what. At a “glow party” they had face painting.. my 3 year old son waited patiently and politely in line for over 30 mins for them to make an announcement saying face painting was closed, and they grabbed the paint and ran into a crew only room. Try explaining this to a small child. The look on his face was completely heartbreaking. On our last day we went to customer service because of a bogus casino charge on our account and because of the service we received. When explaining about the poor service the staff member rudely told me I should’ve came down when it happened and not have waited until the last day. Apparently it’s ok for their staff to make customers wait, but not the other way around. Th shows were mediocre at best. Only made it 30 mins into after midnight before wanting to fall asleep. The magician they had was good, but definitely directed at an older crowd. Saw the dueling pianos twice. They were good but it seemed hard for them to play any songs from the past 25 years. A song I requested from late 90s was started and after 3 words skipped. I’m 30 years old I don’t want to listen to songs from the 50s and 60s all night so we left. Oh wait I’m sorry they did play “let it go” from the movie frozen *eye roll* The good: Our room steward Arnold was the absolute best. So friendly and accommodating. Some staff were extremely friendly and brought my son free frozen drinks. My son enjoyed the mini golf, splash zone, and rope course for toddlers. Bermuda was amazing. I loved being there for 3 days and really getting to experience being there. Read Less

So I normally board with royal Caribbean, where everything is pretty much 5 stars across the board , from the food to the entertainment , the clubs, and the cleanliness of the ship. But boy oh boy where do I begin with the Norwegian escape . FOR STARTERS THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE. Disgusting . My family and I were sick almost every night to our stomachs. They use low quality ingredients, THE FOOD IS COMPLETELY DROWNED IN SALT , & also the drinks are crappy as well. The cleanliness of the boat was not up to my standards whatsoever, many times I was given dirty silverware, cups, glasses, and plates . The entertainment is boring, the shows are not worth the trouble you have to go through trying to book it . That’s right you heard me you have to BOOK THE SHOW ON A CRUISE YOU ALREADY PAID FOR. Okay on to the next problem, the employees are so unhelpful and some are rude and I also experienced a racist encounter at dinner one night. You will run into a few amazing employees , but it dosent make up for the lack of customer service given through most of the employees. I CAN GO ON FOR DAYS ABOUT HOW TERRIBLE THIS CRUISE LINE IS BUT IN ALL PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY . Don’t do it . You’ll regret it . You will regret every dime you spent . Read Less

My family loves to cruise, this was the first cruise that we were very disappointed. There was not enough shows, you have to book reservations onboard if you don’t good look gettin* a Seat. My family and I tried to see a comedy show on the last day, people were saving seats for there family it was hard o find any open seats the cruise director came out and said for all you that didn’t get seat sorry and shut the door. We complained to guest services and the manager said you would have done the same thing. What a disgrace. When we tried to get a sit in the dining room they turned us away, they said to get seating in the other dining rooms. When you look in you can see empty tables. I had a bday for my 11 year old son, they would not put tables together we had to have separate tables. It was a nightmare. Pools are small and limited, forget about getting a chair. Staff is rude food is not great, don’t try to take a photo because they let people walk up the stairs while you are posting for your family photo. My list keeps going. I will never cruise with ncl again. Read Less

Far too many passengers to crew ratio. Extremely rude and unfriendly help desk. Awful Wi-Fi onboard communications. Mediocre food and beverage in general. Haven was a complete let down. Not nearly enough room around pool deck. In general the Haven is not worth the additional fee. The haven desk personnel were on knowledgeable and friendly. Haven restaurant selection was limited by the amount of days of the crews. The common area food choices were poor compared to other lines on the market. The butler service was outstanding and the housekeeping was as well. Consider ships with a greater crew to passenger ratio for a better present experience. This was extremely disappointing for sure of its age. The level of service and concern for the amount of money was far less than any cruise we’ve experienced today. The overall treatment for this haven experience was far less than anticipated and advertised. Do not expect any special accommodations. Read Less

Overall, a very stressful and disappointing cruise. Big crowds with no chairs at the pool, waiting in long lines to make dinner reservations, the crowed atrium with no where to sit and tons of rude and obnoxious drunk people. It is very stressful trying to make all your dinner and show reservations 60 days ahead and if you can't do that you are forced to wait in long lines in in the terminal or on the ship to make them. In the future will sail a different line that offers a set time, as I find that less stressful, easpcially when traveling with larger group. The unlimited drink package seems to have a negative effect on most cruisers as they are very loud, sloppy and looking for fights. Had a very bad experience (cruise critic will not publish) onboard. Let's just say watch your children very carefully as family parties mix drunk adults with children. We have video of drunks jumping off the deck above the pool after it closes and fights breaking out. If your looking for a booze cruise gone wild, then this is the ship for you!!!! I will stick with the cruise lines that offer smaller ships and offer a better experience. Read Less

I don’t even know where to begin with how bad our experience with the Norwegian escape has been. We stayed in a mini suite room with my husband and 2 kids ages 6 and 8. The worst of it all was the pool area. They have 2 pools on the ship andif you are researching and looking up the ship it does not tell you anywhere that the big pool is adults only for the whole week. And the “kids” pool is not much bigger than a hot tub with 100’s of kids trying to swim. We never got a lounge chair for even 1 day that we were there. you have to stand and watch your kids with a100 other parents. All while the adult pool. Not even 20 feet away is like mtv spring break going on with super intoxicated kids twerking and being sloppy drunk. With sexy leg and ab competitions going on right where your kids and see it. The water slides are 1/2 hour wait at all times. The 3rd water slide the kids can not even go on because they have to be 99lbs to even go on it. Everywhere you go is loud dance party music. The food is mediocre at best. We did not get the upgraded dinner package so we’re forced to the garden cafe( which is a cafeteria) or 3 other “dining rooms” that make you think it is fancy dining but in reality it is just The same kind of food from the cafeteria. We had stomach issues all week from the food. The crowds in the dining areas were ridiculous. People were so rude, bumping into other people and hard to find seats in the cafe. There is a arcade for the kids which is all extra money. Ends up to being about 1$/min. Our kids won 800 tickets and we went to cash them in on the last day there was nothing left to choose from. And the staff never refills the prize bins. At least 1/2 of the shows cost extra. They had a bingo night and it was raining and we thought it would be fun for the kids and after 1/2 hour wait I’m line. We find out it’s 70$ to play the game Read Less

Went on the cruise for extended family vacation. Worse cruise I've ever been on. To many people. Not enough space. I would stay in the city if I wanted people to constantly bump into me. Not enough shows that were free. First cruise I've been on you had to pay for a real show. All the rest were singing only. Definately not enough smoking areas. Bad enough I'm a second class citizen in the US the boat had three in the worst places possible. Needs more than one Adult pool. Couldn't get near it during the days at sea. Needs to show movies in the theater more than 3 times a week. Buffet was not that good. Layout of ship very poor. Had to walk miles to go from one part to another. Not relaxing at all. Cruised on Norwegian 30 years ago. This trip did not compare in the least. No shows during dinner with the waiters. Just a bad trip. Read Less

My wife and I chose this cruise due to its convenience sailing from Boston. This was our first sailing on NCL and our last. The poor experience began at embarkation and continued for seven days. We were provided a time to check in and board and were herded like cattle for three hours then finally let on. The food provided at the buffet was virtually inedible, after a day or two my wife ate boxed cereal for breakfast because the food was so awful. We had one average meal in Aqua on the first night, after that is was all downhill. Aside from the first day, Service at OSheehans was horrific and we complained on multiple occasions then just never went back. The Mexican restaurant was terrible food was not fresh, pork tacos were dry and cold and service was non existent. We had a good meal and good service at Cagney's, if not for free upgraded dining this would have cost 100+ dollars. The mattress in my room had a deep, 8-9 inch, depression in it, just totally worn out, you could feel every spring, when we mentioned it they advised they could not replace the mattress. They did come up with a solution though, they filled the void with a duvet cover then asked if this was an adequate solution. Obviously, it was not, they recognized the problem and this was their best solution. The ship was dirty, all the time. No one policing the pool area, people saving crows of chairs with towels for the day and never using them. Teens drinking alcohol and running wild. This cruise literally got worse and worse by the day. My wife and I actually explored the option of flying home from Bermuda. Most of the entertainment was sub par at best, we did like the piano player Paul and Guitarist Degas at Gatsby's, and the headlining comedian, all the other shows were just bad. By far the worst cruise line I have ever been on, I will pay the extra money to fly to a port to take an alternative cruise line. Read Less

We arrived super excited for our vacation only to be placed in a cabin with NO AC for three days we voiced our concerns only to be told they would send someone and each night we came back to a sauna. We were pacified with $50 off vouchers to the spa but would have to spend $100 to even use them. We had dinner reservations for what we thought would be 7 nights in the AQUA room only to find HAIR in my husbands dinner. We then tried Venitian and I found hair on the plate, We then went to the Bliss lounge on the last night and was charged for drinks we never ordered. When we confronted the "mixology manager" he said oh sorry I thought you had a drink package, if we had a package why would you then charge us. Not a good experience at all, the Staff seemed bothered by the guests which did not seem like what we should have experienced or paid for. Read Less
