I’ve been a loyal NCL cruiser for 10 years, but this is by far the worst designed ship in the fleet. The pool deck is horrible; the adult pool is smaller than most private swimming pools in someone’s backyard. The seating area is really small; about 1/3 of the pool deck is set aside for buffet seating, despite the buffet having plenty of interior seating. You need to secure your seat on the pool ...
This was our third cruise on a large ship - we usually prefer smaller venues. The ship was modern and clean but HUGE. This meant that it was very, very, very busy. We could not find a quiet place to sit anywhere but in our cabin. Some may like cruising in an environment as busy as NYC, but the constant noise and difficulty getting from place to place put a damper on our enjoyment. It was ...
This is the fourth time I have taken a Bermuda cruise with NCL, unfortunately, this was the most disappointing of the four. This was the first time on the NCL Pearl and while the ship was nice and the staff was exceptional there were a few areas that are not like they were in past sailings. First, the entertainment was a significant downgrade, in the past the nightly entertainment was excellent ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to sail to Bermuda, and the dates and prices worked for us. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:
Food: this was the best part of the cruise. The buffet was a pleasant surprise with a fair amount of variety for lunch and dinner and with most food being pretty tasty. I’ve been on several cruises with Royal Caribbean before, and I felt that the taste of the ...
Family of 2 adults and 15, 11 year olds. The good - 1) staterooms and new, clean and very nice. Family rooms are large with one of the largest bathrooms we’ve seen on a ship. 2) 2 nights in Bermuda (Wed 8am - Fri 2:30pm) was a perfect amount of time to explore multiple beaches around the island and attend Harbour Nights in Hamilton. 3) VR room and staff are great. Some of the VRs are old and ...
This was my family & I's first Norwegian Cruise, 14th overall for me, 13th for the rest of my family. We have been on Royal Caribbean & Disney Cruise Line in the past. We knew going into the cruise that Norwegian pride itself on its "Freestyle Cruising", which is seen on almost all cruise lines today. We also knew about The Haven, which is the "ship inside a ship" concept that Norwegian has ...
NCL JOY
First, This was our Third NCL Joy Haven cruise in 12 months. My applause to the crew aboard the Joy. My experience in the Haven the first week in July was interesting. Most of the situations on board were due to changes in policy from NCL head office.....Are you listening? We always purchase the premium upgrade on the beverage package due to our taste for good Champagne. ...
We choose this cruise because some friends were already booked on it and asked us to go. We had been on the NCL Breakaway 2 other times out of New York going to Bermuda and liked the fact that the Joy also had the Waterfront deck area and some other added features. We were a group of 10 people/friends on this trip.
Let me start with the booking process which was horrible! We were a group ...
First let me start by saying the cruise itself was a mostly pleasurable experience.
• starting with the easy check-in process, it was very smooth.
• the room was ready at approx. 3:00 p.m. With our luggage waiting for us.
• no more turn down service as was our many previous cruises.
• Dining room was pretty much hit and miss for dinner (the quality has gone down a bit)
• Lotus ...
This was our first time cruising with NCL and since the pandemic. The Joy is beautiful, had plenty of entertainment, and very clean. My biggest complaint is the room, smallest inside cabin I have ever been in. Also the room was under an entertainment room and was very noisy one night until 12:15 AM. That night the whole fifth floor was complaining, staff apologized but not much was done about it. ...
