Second time on Norwegian Jewel. Previous time was nice but not amazing. We chose it again because of the itinerary.
What we did not like this time:
- lack of sufficient and clear information prior to embarkation. the website is not working properly, no responses on email or phone. Problems with booking excursions.
- the ship's entertainment pretty much resembled last year's programme - ...
We were looking forward to this.....a lot!
We had booked a similar itinerary with Ncl 2 years prior and they simply pulled the cruise. No explanation, it just went. Forgot about that when we booked this. Gradually, this became a different cruise to what we had booked. ports disappeared, shore time shortened. Overnights stops became at sea days! Anyway, we were determined to enjoy Asia, and in ...
Booked this cruise as a 60th birthday celebration, and was very disappointed that on final payment we received the itinerary changes. I emailed NCL in December without a reply (this is now standard NCL customer service unless you email the upper management) We then received further Itinerary changes just a couple of weeks before departure. As I had paid for an overnight hotel in Singapore to ...
Welcome to the Hotel California cruise. You can check out anytime you want - but you can never leave.
This review focuses on the 2nd of the back to back cruises around Asia, but will include comments on specific areas common in both cruises.
The good bits remain - most service staff are excellent and we enjoyed our interactions with staff in the Magnums bar and both main dining rooms. ...
Just completed Manila to Port Klang cruise as first of back-to-back.
First the good bits. Most of the service staff are fantastic - wait staff, stateroom attendants and bar staff are friendly and efficient. They aim to provide a quality service. Food is generally excellent at this price point. Actually better than expected but we didn't go near the buffet which always looked chaotic and the ...
This was a cruise to Asia, cruising with a close friend and our wives. The ports were interesting, and tours were OK. Highlights included stops in Vietnam and Boracay in the Philippines, also stops in Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan and Singapore. There were a number of ports which required use of tenders, which were generally OK.
There were some silly issues with the crew, which the Captain, who ...
This cruise was on my bucket list to see French Polynesia - Stayed in Forward Aft suite 10001 which is the last suite that I will ever stay in again. There was one outlet in the sitting area and one outlet in the bedroom. No outlets in the bathroom / shower area. The bedroom area had a closet and drawers but you could not access the drawers because they would open into the bed. the access to ...
Itinerary, sadly because of the Coronavirus they changed itinerary before we got on board but did not advise explain why. Was concerned at the outset and wanted to cancel but was advised we would lose our money. 5 ports have been missed, 4 in Vietnam and naturally Hong Kong. Just bobbing along. They also stopped at Cambodia and made us pay an extortionate amount for visa. Worst port I have ...
Always wanted to visit Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam. Picked the time of year as it was decent weather and the price was right. Been with Norwegian twice before and although not the best they do seem to give value for money. Boarded, very easily, in Singapore. Got to our balcony cabin, not the biggest but OK. Ship seemed fine. Travelled two days to the port which hosts Bangkok for an overnight ...
Embarkation was OK but so many people there at the same time so not their fault.
We had an outside restricted view cabin but luckily we were in between the lifeboats so view not bad. Cabin smaller than expected & the en suite likewise, it was clean & had enough space for your clothes.
SHIP. Well maintained, lots of lounges & bars & places to sit , pool area very nice.
Entertainment .. The ...
