A not so prima Norwegian Prima....

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We did not choose our 29th cruise because of the itinerary, but because we wanted to sail with the new NCL ship "Norwegian Prima". Boarding went smoothly without any waiting. First impressions were very good: modern looks, the corridors to the staterooms have a great "hotel feeling" and are very beautifully designed. The stateroom (balcony room) was the most spacious we ever had. Beautiful ...

Cruising to Iceland and Norway This ship is mighty unstable in moderatly rough seas and i mean 3ft swells we were on deck 9 forward and massive booming noises were generated by the unconventional bow configuration meant we did not sleep for the first 5 nights due to the noise and the captain had to present himself on the atrium to answer why the ship was so unstable no answer he gave made me ...

The worst cruise experience, in over 20 years and 30 cruises with many other lines, including NCL's older ships

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

This ships is the pits, if this is a new concept for NCL, then they have got it drastically WRONG. The cabins, food and beverages where fine, but the service in the restaurants and bars left a LOT to be desired. A lack of staff and poor IT systems just lead to frustration and delay, wrong orders, etc. Far to much commercial space such as shopping, casino, pay per use dining, VR studio, go cart ...

Dysfunctional, Very Poorly Designed Ship

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

This ship is badly designed. With full capacity of 3500 passengers there was extreme overcrowding in all the public spaces. The tiny buffet on the 17th deck was far smaller than those in ships with only 2000-2500 passengers. It was always a zoo: long lines, no where to sit. The main theatre was way too small. Instead of having two performances of a new show each evening in a large theater, ...

Not a great cruise on a newish ship and poor customer service from NCL

Just wanted to put our experiences down to make people aware what to expect onboard the Norwegian Prima. I have to say the ship is beautiful and very modern but inside space is so wasted. We boarded in Iceland and the check in process was smooth and easy however once on board the staff could not be less helpful, cabins were not ready but no one explained this and then staff did not want to ...

Wonderful ports (when they weren't cancelled)

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

This was our third cruise and first on NCL. While we loved the ports we were able to see, we booked this cruise expecting 8 ports and only seeing 6. Supposedly we could not get to Bruges because of tidal issues. There wasn't a very good explanation as to why we couldn't get to Ísafjörður especially when we saw other big cruise ships going there. 4 sea days was way too many for the Prima, ...

Disappointing ship and cruise

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

As very frequent cruisers with NCL (so far NCL was our favorite cruiseline) we booked this trip because of the nice itinerary. However NCL changed the itinerary twice on us: Maloy was changed to Stavanger 4 days before departure with a very short visit (07:00A- 2:00P, 1:30P all aboard), Isafjordur was cancelled completely and replaced with an extra overnight at Akureyri, with a 11:00A departure ...

A Wannabe Royal Caribbean

This is not just another review. This is a very well thought of explanation of why, no matter who you are, or what you do, and what you like, you should avoid spending a dime, and any of your time on an NCL cruise. We should have read the reviews. They voice the same things. And yet NCL carry on disappointing. I’ve attached the first review that comes up on google. First of all I have to ...

Very limited entertainment options, pricey and rude management

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

My family and I have gone to a lot of cruises growing up. We have tried Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises. The Norwegian prima was the biggest disappointment. From badly cleaned staterooms to finding an insect in our food and then to top it off there’s not much to do - specially considering you have to book things within the first day cz otherwise everything is fully booked. If you’re ...

Stunning Norway, but lots to improve

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Recommend Norway, don’t recommend Norwegian Prima. This was our first cruise post covid and we were really looking forward to seeing Iceland, Norway, The Netherlands and Belgium on a 7 port / 10 day itinerary. In the end 2 ports were cancelled so we ended up with 4x sea days out of 10 days on a ship that didn’t have enough entertainment to keep the passengers entertained. Don’t book this ...
