We booked this cruise for the ports--Morocco,Granada, Canary Islands and Portugal and were not disappointed. We loved all the ports and were so glad that our sailing visited Morocco--unlike a previous cruise. As far as the NCL Jade, we enjoyed our balcony stateroom--there was plenty of room and we love the glass doors on the shower. Everything was clean and maintained. The Ship's decor is desperate for change, as everything is Polynesian, which is very out of place in Europe. The ship's layout leaves much to be desired in my opinion, as there is no large multi-storied foyer and there are too many specialty restaurants taking up room that could be better used as common areas. The regular restaurants fill up fast, so we ate early each night. We have no complaint with the food, as we thought it was good with a good variety. They have a great chocoholic buffet one night. We think the staff and service was wonderful--everyone was friendly and smiling and went out of their way to be helpful. The entertainment was good, not outstanding except for the "Elements" show, but we attended each night and enjoyed it. They try their best to keep germs at bay and were told they were "sanitizing the ship" between sailings. They had people spraying your hands before you go to the buffet and hand sanitizers everywhere. The first few days we were "served" at the buffet so we couldn't touch the utensils, but the virus was still active. My husband and at least two of the people we knew (which was not that many) developed either food poisoning or the virus. I don't know the answer to that problem, but it does tend to color your view of the ship. Since Morocco isn't listed on the port review section, I'll add that they were our favorites. Casablanca was great with a free shuttle to the main square of town within walking distance of the souk and shopping. We took a taxi to the Hussein II Mosque which was our favorite site. We had an hour tour and loved it, then did some shopping. The prices are very cheap in the souk if you know how to haggle. I wish we had bought more as the prices were the best on the cruise. We took a private excursion to Taroudant in Agadir and enjoyed it too. Taroudant is interesting and about an hour and a half away. The Kasbah in Agadir is not to be missed for the views and camel ride if you want one. I'll write more about the other ports, but we loved all of them. Read Less

Sailed on 14th. Jan .this year Food was average. On 9 of the restaurants, you had to pay a surcharge of between $10 and $25 dollars, just to get in and get good food. Had to wait every night to get a table in the 3 non supplement restaurants. Drinks - @ $7 a pint all carried what they call a 15% autogratguity. wine carried the same 15% as well as an 8% tax. There is an automatic $12 per day added to you bill for gratuities for staff who are unlikely to get tipped e.g. kitchen staff. We had to fight to get it deducted after a 3rd. degree at reception. this $12 dollars is charged to everyone over the age of 3 ( YES 3 ) One family - 2 adults and 2 young children did back to back cruises for 21 days Their extra charge was $ 1000 - $48 per day. When I told them to fight to get it deducted - THEY DID. We were not told until we arrived that the ship was infected with Norovirus and gastro enteritis. The crew worked non stop spraying and cleaning. They admitted to over 100 people infected THERE WERE FAR MORE. What at first glance appeared to be a cheap cruise was not . However I must say that the crew were pleasant and charming and couldn.t do enough for you. Also, nearly all the shows were of a very high standard. A pity that two of the stops were Casablanca and Agadir - HOW DISAPPOINTING. CADIZ AND GIBRALTAR WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER OPOTIONS. Read Less
