We took advantage of Ncl free flight, that was a mistake. We landed at 8pm and had to be checked in by 10. When we arrived at cruiseport they treated us as if we were a huge inconvenience. They gave us our cards and told us to checkin onboard deck 6. The crew would not let us onboard said to go back and check in, after several minutes of arguing we were escorted to guest service. Our escort spoke ...
I was not impressed with Norwegian. People dog out Carnival and act like it's the ghetto cruise line or something, but I saw nothing special about Norwegian either.
Let me state here first, if you have ANY concern or complaint at all, expect a CHEAP bottle of wine and a few chocolate covered strawberries to be delivered to your room that day. Like that resolves the issue!!! I mean at least ...
The ship is very crowded. The sense of constantly having to think strategically and complete with others became stressful after a few days. For instance they have a small library but unlike other cruise ships we’ve been on, the books are locked up except for a few hours a day. This frustrated my kids terribly. They saw the books they wanted to read but couldn't get to them. When there is so much ...
Let me preface this review by stating that this was my 50th cruise. Prior to this cruise I have sailed on other NCL ships, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Carnival, Princess and Celebrity. Embarkation was smooth and quick, we were on the ship within 30 minutes from arriving at the dock. The ship is brand new and modern but is quite odd. I know it recently underwent a dry dock to convert it ...
The food in the dining halls has gone way down hill, and the buffet food was ok. Manhatan and the other formal dining rooms were awful. We returned ordered food back to kitchen and stopped going there.
Never seen a cruise ship with so very few entertainment programs. Elements and Lavity Comedy were very good. Other shows were so boring and waste of time. We were glad had good friends with ...
This was our first cruise. We saved for 4 years to be able to afford a wonderful experience. I am so disappointed, I don't know if we will ever go on another if this is what it is like.
Embarkation was easy, Our room was beautiful, although the step up into the bathroom was difficult to get used to. Our steward "Cassi" was amazing. Most of the staff were helpful, unless they were trying to sell ...
The Joy is a beautiful ship....every cruise line should take note and copy deck 15 and the front observation area. What an incredible way to experience Alaska while relaxing in wonderful seats with a bar, Starbucks, and a mini buffet available. The rooms were nice, I love the color palette of blue's and creams....and love the sliding door in the balcony room. The slider made for no slamming ...
The destinations and timing were the primary reason for the selection of the ship after my family narrowed our choice of cruise line to NCL. My teenager selected the Joy because of its VR and go-kart track. This was our first time on the NCL line, so I spent many hours researching excursions and additional charges prior to leaving. However, some items are not obviously a good or poor value until ...
This was my 5th time with NCL - 1st on the Joy. I work for wherever, so I need Internet access. I've never had a problem before. This time was a disaster. More than half of my purchased minutes were wasted watching the little circle go around, and many times I finally gave up after 10 minutes. Not only was I stressed out, but I had to purchase more minutes - couldn't even access the internet ...
We we're past cruisers with other lines but wanted to try Norwegian. They offered a good enticing deal with their pick five promotion. Reduced airfare. Free bar. Money back on shore excursions bought thru Norwegian. 120 min free of wifi. And three free add on dinning package. We chose the Joy. First dissapointment if you fly into town before the day of the cruise you have to stay at ...
