This was my 5th NCL cruise and I am happy to report that they keep getting better!
The Jewel was a beautiful ship with lots to do for all ages.
Embarkation in NYC was easy. We arrived at 11:00 and wee on the ship by 11:30.
Rooms weren't ready yet so we went up to the buffet and had some lunch then walked around and toured the ship. It was cold that day so no swimming for anyone but it was ...
Norwegian Jewel Freestyle cruise was awesome! Background: My family went for my father's retirement. My parents (in their 50s) my brother (29) me (23) and my other brother (21). We had two stateroom balconies down the hall from each other.
On the first day everything went so well! First of all, you CAN bring cases of water and soda with you on the cruise. Even though no one told us that! ...
To tell you the truth I was not expecting much after reading reviews here but actually glad I went expecting little because it made it that much better. We live an hour outside the city in NJ drove in to city around 10 and parked at Alliance on W 43rd st after dropping off wife and 2 sons (3 & 6 yrs old) (10 min walk to terminal) I chose this option simply because I didn't want to lug our ...
The Norwegian Jewel was perfect for a first time cruise with our children (21 and 15). We left New York on a chilly Sunday, boarded effortlessly and were eating the first of many meals within an hour. The staff is friendly, attentive and happy. The ship is beautiful and clean. Upon entering our cabin, I was concerned with the size but once the suitcases were stowed under the beds, it was okay. ...
My young adult son and I just returned from his first cruise experience. NCL gave accommodations to make the cruise possible with my son's special needs. They did what they said they would do ... and more! It not only made this trip possible but gave my son a wonderful experience cruising and he cannot wait to go again.
Anticipating the cruise I had spent a great deal of time researching ...
Since the first I time Iaid eyes on a model cruise ship as a child, I had dreamed of travelling on one of these magnificent floating resorts. On February 24, 2013 I realized that dream when I set sail on the Norwegian Jewel from NYC to Florida and the Bahamas. In this review I will share my experiences through the eyes of a first time cruiser. Let's start at the beginning...

I really believe that the staff on this cruise went out of their way to make the entire experience incredible. Every day they were friendly, fun, witty and interactive with everyone they met. They made each show, game & events one - of - kind !! Although the destination was an ultimate goal for us to see the on-board activities were outstanding.
The entertainment was by far very well put ...
This cruise is designed for NY/NJ area residents who don't want to fly. Probably 3/4 of the ship were locals. As Chicago area residents we always have to fly somewhere to catch a cruise, so usually go south and get the full warm weather escape. Flights to NYC were cheap, so gave this a try. Enjoyed a day in NYC prior to cruise. This cruise gives you 3 warm days. The 4 sea days are cool (40s ...
My Mother and I cruised together on this ship. I had "won" a free cruise from my local casino and paid port charges and taxes - I paid an extra $150 for an Oceanview and was glad I did. Total price for the trip was $700 for the two of us, courtesy of Casino at Seas.
This was my first time on NCL. I had cruised 6 times previously all with Celebrity. While the two cruise lines are ...
Hello future cruisers who plan on taking a cruise on the Jewel :) I know that a lot of people check out the reviews to give them reasons on to why they SHOULDN'T go on this ship, or is this ship horrible, or to tell them about the HORRIBLE service. But this isn't going to be one of those. Just so you know. . . all cruise ships have poor reviews, its impossible to please every single person on ...
