Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Fun cruise, first time with kids!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

I got a cruise bug last summer and booked us on the Jewel. I had been on the S/S Norway in 1996, and again for our honeymoon in 2002, right before it went out of service. Of course, by late July, the biggest room we could get was a minisuite. It slept 4, so that seemed reasonable. (our kids are 3 and 6) We drove to Houston, stayed at a hotel near the terminal, then boarded fairly early the ...

Spring Break cruise

We went on one of the busy Spring Break cruise weeks while our kids were on Spring Break. It was my husband and myself on our 7th NCL cruise and 7th cruise, and our sons 9 and 6, one on his 2nd NCL cruise and one on his first cruise. My husband and I like to cruise when it is less crowded and a better deal, but we also wanted to take our kids on a cruise that they would be old enough to remember. ...

Great ship, loved the "freestyle" cruising

We were apprehensive because we really like meeting new people at our usual dining room set schedule, but we enjoyed going to the different restaurants and trying the different cuisines. Our favorite restaurant was the steak house. Didn't like the Japanese style cooking table restaurant that much, but it was OK. Our room was very small, but clean. It was #11649, and was at the very back of the ...

Recently sailed on the Jewel over Spring Break with a nephew. His 1st time cruising, my 6th-2nd time on NCL. THrip could not have been better, start to finish. Booking was easyand straight forward. Booked a mini suite to have a little extra room and it was great. Received the Ultimate Dining Package when booked, which allowed us to have dinner in the specialty restaurants. Embarkation: The ...

Family suite, Topaz suite. Still a great ship

Just returned and wanted to give some feedback on the Jewel. She is still a Jewel. We sailed her back in 2005, transatlantic repositioning, Barcelona to Miami. I thought she was so different then and still is today. The colors are bright and airy. Very Caribbean. Not the usual cruise ship. Very clean ship with lots of "washy - washy" being promoted. This cruise we had the family suite # 11024. ...

Just Misses

The NCL Jewel just misses on its Western Caribbean itinerary. The "Freestyle" program fits well for those looking to get away from a daily routine. The featured entertainment was as good as one is going to see on a cruise ship, however the music nights suffered from poor sound engineering and programs that really didn't make a lot of sense. The game shows and other entertainment is about what one ...

Overall, I had a great time on this cruise! The entertainment was awesome. I thought the shows at night were so good and really different each night. Don't miss the acrobat show and Le Cirque Bijou show. They were excellent. The boat is SO clean. They are constantly cleaning. The food was also pretty good. I will say I thought there desserts were just okay. I have a sweet tooth and I wasn't very ...

Tiny Cabin; Great Crew

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Our cabin was the smallest we have experienced in our dozen or so cruises thus far. Bathroom especially tight although the shower door was nice instead of the usual shower curtain. Ship seemed to be efficiently run and well maintained. As bad (small) as the cabin was, the crew that we encountered was among the best we have run into. Our room steward was friendly and efficient as was the ...

First time on a Norwegian Cruise. The overall experience was very good. First the positives: Crew was very friendly and accommodating. Variety of places to eat was very good. Ports were outstanding. (Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan Honduras. Only took one excursion in Honduras and it was fantastic. (Tabayana Beach and Snorkel). Girls enjoyed the shopping in all three ports. Negatives: Food was good ...

This was my first real cruise as far as being out for more than a couple of days. I went with my girl friend and two other couples. We had a lot of fun on this cruise and had beautiful weather through almost the entire cruise. I broke down a few of my thoughts per categories. Hope this helps. The Ship - Just in general, this was a nice ship. Plenty of room, wasn't ever hard finding a table by the ...
