Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Norwegian Jewel, Easter Week 2015

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Went on the Easter trip, out of Houston, with 3 stops: Cozumel, Belize and Trujillo Honduras. First freestyle cruise for us. Disappointing to say the least. The nickling and diming was absolutely out of control. The main dining area (Garden) served at best diner quality food. The Washy Washy guys with their spray bottles were in your face, insisting that you disinfect your hands, ...

First, not our first cruise. We paid for 10 family members to cruise with us. Two of the rooms got a $25 credit, 3 did not when we went to check on this the customer service manager was beyond rude. I tried to take a picture of his name badge (as I couldnt make out his name when he spoke); he must be hiding from someone or something as he was sooo offended that i would snap a pic of his badge. Why ...

We were in one of the cabins on deck 5 in the port quarter (stern on the port side, back left side) Our cabin was the last one on the end of the hall next to the crew lounge. They have a bar and a pool table and the crew would be singing and crashing pool balls, far more than enough to keep you awake from 12 to 4 in the morning. Our cruise included new years, so I don't know if the crew was extra ...

I took my family on a cruise for Christmas this year. We all live in Texas, so leaving out of the Houston port was very convenient. There were 23 of us, ranging in age from 2 to 79. We had a good time, but there were some issues with the cruise that I'd like to share for future cruisers. First of all, the positives. Embarkation and Disembarkation went very smoothly. The new cruise terminal in ...

First I want to say that until this cruise, NCL was our favorite cruise (although that was our first cruise many years ago). After multiple cruises on Carnival (way to many), Celebrity, RCCL, and Princess, we were excited to be back on NCL for this family cruise with our two daughters, their husbands and children, and one set of in-laws. We loved cruising enough that both our daughters were ...

We decided to give Norwegian a try after several Princess cruises, a Carnival and a Royal Caribbean Cruise. Our trip started out by one of our bags not being delivered to the room and the other bag having the 2 bottles of wine removed (no note, nothing before hand explaining the "Corking fee policy") I went down to the service desk, and they sent me to the "Penny Pincher" area....Where I was ...

We were two adults and one kid . The cabin ; Size was ok for a ship ( like a NY hotel room ) Bed was twin and comfy . Pillows were good and planty . Open sofa was good for my kiddo but for an adult or tall kid will come short. TV was not working . Shower was good Toilet have a wired angle which make it very tight . Room service : Cleaning was good. Very good service . Recognized by ...

We left for a Thanksgiving cruise out of the port of Houston. It was really convenient for us and 90% of the other 2,800 guests on board. No surprise, but nearly all guests were from Texas. There were 800 children, which stressed the kids academy to the limit. They were not nearly staffed or prepared for it. If you have 800 kids on board, why not hire excess crew for the kid's club and open a 2nd ...

Not really great for family..

Norwegian Jewel wasn't the best, and especially was not what I expected. The nicest thing about it in my opinion, was the Embarkation, which didn't even take long at all! Other than that, the rest of the experience wasn't that great.. Most of the times, I would spend the whole day just doing nothing but walking around the ship because it was the only thing I could do! Basically, it was complete ...

Having cruised on Carnival and Royal Caribbean in the past, we thought we would give Norwegian a try. We booked a seven night cruise out of New Orleans in a "mini suite". They should put the word "mini" in capital letters. It was nothing more than a balcony room. The only difference was in the bathroom, you had a sliding door that closed the toilet area off from the rest of the bathroom. We paid ...
