Been back a few days from a 9 night cruise on the Jade , Barcelona - Canaries .
Going to try and be balanced , As i personally don't enjoy reading reviews either stating everything was shockingly bad , or everything thing was perfect .... find them hard to trust .

This was my 38th cruise and lately the quality of the experience was going downhill fast. I hadn't been on NCL for 3 years and I got a great deal on a mini-suite ($110/pp/day) compared to a veranda on Oceania ($290/pp/day) which is a little smaller in January.

OK - step one - TOTALLY ignore all the bad reviews you've probably read. Some people just aren't right for cruises - and some people just have bad weeks, which they would have had they been at home anyway!

We stayed two nights in Barcelona before our cruise at the Arc la Rambla Hotel located right on Las Ramblas. The hotel is 3 star, but in a good location.
